Point Douglas is a ghost town in section 8 of Denmark Township, Washington County, Minnesota, United States located at the convergence of the St. Croix River and the Mississippi River. It is located across the St Croix River from Prescott, Wisconsin.

The Daniel Smith House is located in Prescott, Wisconsin.The original section of this house, built in about 1855, is a wood-frame structure built on a stone foundation. It displays many features found in the Greek Revival style of architecture, including: low-pitch gable ends, fluted pilaster corner boards, boxes cornice with dentils and a plain frieze, and a full-front porch with Doric columns. In about 1870 a one-story clapboarded addition was made to the southwest corner of the house. A water tower, located to the northeast of the house, a gazebo located to the west of the south, and rock walls were built in about 1903. The Daniel Smith house is locally significant due to its association with Prescott, Wisconsin's early settlement and historical development. The owners of the house between its construction in about 1855 and 1889 were instrumental in the establishment and support of many of the city's earliest commercial, civic, social, educational, governmental, and political activities.

H. S. Miller Bank is located in Prescott, Wisconsin. In addition to being a bank, the building also served as the city hall and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.Currently, it houses the Prescott Historical Society Museum and the local chamber of commerce.

The St. Croix River ( SAYNT KROY; literally "holy cross" in French) is a tributary of the Mississippi River, approximately 169 miles (272 km) long, in the U.S. states of Wisconsin and Minnesota. The lower 125 miles (201 km) of the river form the border between Wisconsin and Minnesota. The river is a National Scenic Riverway under the protection of the National Park Service. A hydroelectric plant at the Saint Croix Falls Dam supplies power to the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area.

KDWA (1460 AM/97.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a hyperlocal News/Talk format, licensed to Hastings, Minnesota. The station is currently owned by K & M Broadcasting, Inc. and features national news programming from the USA Radio Network at the top of each hour. Locally, KDWA is especially known for its coverage of local news and high school sports for both Hastings and Prescott.

Prescott is a city in Pierce County, Wisconsin at the confluence of the St. Croix River and Mississippi River. The population was 4,258 at the 2010 census, making it the second-largest city in the county after River Falls, and the largest entirely within Pierce County. Prescott was home to the mother house of the Franciscan Servants of Jesus. The town was first settled by (and named for) Philander Prescott, who opened a trading post there in 1839.

Lake Isabel (also rendered Lake Isabelle and Lake Isabell) is a lake in Dakota County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota.Lake Isabel was named for a daughter of the founder of Hastings.

Prescott High School is a public high school located in the city of Prescott, Wisconsin. The enrollment is approximately 400.

The Hastings Foundry-Star Iron Works is a historic foundry building in Hastings, Minnesota, United States. Located at 707 First Street East, it was built by A. R. Morrell, an ironsmith from Vermont, in 1859. The building is historically significant as the location where the first steam engine in Minnesota was built (1860). In 1861 the engine for the Stella Whipple was manufactured there as well. Iron for bridges and engines for railroad elevators, automobiles, and river boats were manufactured in this earliest surviving industrial site in the state.

Hastings Rail Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge that spans the Mississippi River in Hastings, Minnesota. It is one of only four lift spans on the Mississippi River, the others being at Hannibal, Missouri, Burlington, Iowa and in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. It was built in 1981 by Milwaukee Road and was designed by Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff. It crosses the Mississippi river in a north–south orientation from Hastings just upstream of Point Douglas, where the Saint Croix River empties into the Mississippi river. In addition to CP Rail traffic, the bridge also carries Amtrak's Empire Builder across the river. Another nearby lift bridge is the Prescott BNSF lift bridge, in Prescott, Wisconsin that crosses the St. Croix River. The two tracks converge at the St. Croix interlocking tower.

The East Second Street Commercial Historic District in Hastings, Minnesota, United States, is a downtown district consisting of thirty-five commercial buildings built between 1860 and 1900. The downtown area retained its historic integrity even as other communities modernized their downtowns as a result of post-World War II urban renewal efforts. The district contains a number of two- and three-story buildings, each in a unique style. Although the buildings are very different, common features include distinctive parapets at the roofline, often with the name of the business inlaid in brick or metal. The storefronts include large display windows with a main entrance flanked by cast iron or wooden columns. The upper levels of the buildings often include windows topped with ornate hoods.The historic integrity of the district is maintained through a number of guidelines that encourage restoration of buildings to their original appearance, replacement of any historic features that were altered, and avoidance of alterations that are not in keeping with the buildings' original historic context.

The Rudolph Latto House is a historic house in Hastings, Minnesota, United States, built 1880–1881. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for local significance in architecture for its transitional Italianate/Eastlake design. It was built in white Chaska brick.
