Chelae or Chelai (Ancient Greek: Χῆλαι), also called Philemporos, was a town of ancient Thrace on the Bosphorus, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times.Its site is located near Bebek in European Turkey.

The Akatlar Sanatçılar Parki or Artists' Park is a public park operated by the Beşiktaş municipality in Akatlar, Beşiktaş. It is the home of many sculptures of famous Turkish artists and also hosts theater performances and other activities. The park aims to show a piece of all 7 branches of art through the many busts and hand imprints of famous Turkish artists found inside the park. These include busts of Kemal Sunal, Barış Manço, Sadri Alışık and Bedia Muvahhit which were sculpted by Gürdal Duyar. The park also has a lot of green space and includes a 1500m2 running track and has other sports oriented areas. The park is free to enter.In July 2022 the park was renamed to Cüneyt Arkın Sanatçılar Parkı in memory of Arkın who died June 2022.The park was opened in 2003, is about 480 decare in size.There is a cafeteria located in the park that is operated by the Beşiktaş municipality. It is known as the Sanatçılar Kafe and is open from 8 A.M. to 11 P.M. On the 59th anniversary of the death of Nâzım Hikmet he was honored in a ceremony at the park where his poems were read.

Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, formerly named Hisarüstü, is an underground rapid transit station on the M6 line of the Istanbul Metro. It is located in northeast Beşiktaş under Hisar Üstü Nispetiye Avenue. The station is named after the Boğaziçi University which is located right next to it. A funicular railway is planned between Hisarüstü and Aşiyan, on the Bosphorus.

Bebek Mosque (Turkish: Bebek Camii), officially Hümayûn-u Âbad Mosque (Ottoman Turkish: Hümayûn-u Âbad Cami for: Prosperous Imperial Mosque) is a 1913-built mosque located in Bebek neighborhood of Beşiktaş district in Istanbul, Turkey. Bebek Mosque was designed by Mimar Kemaleddin (1870–1927) in the architectural style of First national architectural movement, and built in Bebek on the place of a mosque, which was commissioned by Grand Vizier Nevşehirli Damat Ibrahim Pasha (1666–1730).It is situated inside a courtyard surrounded by low concrete walls on Cevdet Paşa Cad. behind the Bebek Pier in Bebek Bay on Bosphorus. The mosque has a square plan, and is built in limestone ashlar. The main dome is supported by four half domes sitting on eight frames. It has six arched windows, two each in the front and back, and one each at sides, and 28 small arched windows in total above them. The mosque has a polygonal minaret on a high base adjacent to the western wall. The underside of the minaret balcony is decorated with three lines of muqarnas. Minaret's entrance is next to the narthex outside the mosque.

Istanbul Japanese School (イスタンブル日本人学校, Isutanburu Nihonjin Gakkō, Turkish: İstanbul Japon Okulu) is a Japanese international school located in Etiler, Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Turkey.As of 2015 the school has about 80 students. They use a school bus to travel to and from the campus.

Bebek is a historic Istanbul neighbourhood that falls within the boundaries and administration of the Beşiktaş district. It is located on Bebek Bay along the European shores of the Bosphorus strait and is surrounded by similarly affluent neighbourhoods such as Arnavutköy and Etiler. The literal meaning of the word "Bebek" in Turkish is "baby", which is a reference to the neighborhood's attractive positioning on the Bosphorus with its deep, sheltered bay and sweeping views in both directions along the waterway. It is believed to be a shortened form of "Boğaz'ın gözbebeği", which translates, literally, as "the pupil of the Bosphorus", or more appropriately, "the apple of Bosphorus' eye", as the literal translation of "pupil" in Turkish is "eye baby". Bebek was a popular residential district under Ottoman rule, and continues to be so today. Its population reflected the diverse society of the time, which is still visible in Bebek's historic architecture and contemporary constituencies. Bebek is also home to Boğaziçi University, a public university established that is one of Turkey's premier institutions of higher education. The university occupies the buildings and grounds of the now-defunct higher education division of Robert College, a historic American academic institution founded in 1863 by wealthy New York merchant Christopher Robert and American missionary and educator Cyrus Hamlin. Following the coeducational merger of the formerly all-male Robert College with its sister school, the American College for Girls, all operations of the former were moved from Bebek to the wooded Arnavutköy campus of the latter, where it continues to operate.

Bebek Bay is a small bay on the Bosphorus, in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. It was formerly a resort area that was home to a palace of the Ottoman sultan.

Etiler is a neighbourhood on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey, in the district of Beşiktaş, close to the business quarters of Levent and Maslak. Etiler is famous for its upmarket cafés, pubs, night clubs, restaurants, gyms, coiffeurs, fashion shops and shopping malls, such as Akmerkez. It is a favourite area among Istanbul's elite. The quarter also has many villas and private residences. The name Etiler is an older name in Turkish for the Hittites, as it was fashionable in the early years of the Turkish Republic to give the names of ancient Anatolian civilizations to the new districts of Istanbul. A similar example is the neighbouring quarter of Akatlar, which means Akkads, another ancient civilization from the history of Anatolia.

Akmerkez is a shopping mall located in the Etiler quarter of Beşiktaş district in Istanbul, Turkey. As the country's third shopping mall following Galleria Ataköy and Capitol, it was opened by a joint venture of the Akkök, Tekfen and İstikbal companies on December 18, 1993.The Akmerkez complex covers an area of 180,000 m2 (44 acres) and consists of a four-story shopping area, with two towers offering a total of 31 stories of office space, 14 and 17 in two towers, and a third tower with 24 stories of residential areas. The shopping area, offering visitors 246 stores, is spread over a triangular area connected to the surrounding main roads through 3 atria. The total rentable store area is 35,000 m2 (380,000 sq ft). There are 41 escalators, 2 panoramic elevators and 30 elevators. The cleaning, security and general maintenance is provided by a workforce of 250 people. In 2005, the shopping mall was converted into a real estate investment company, and 49% of the stakes were offered to the public. The Dutch real estate investment company Corio owns 46.9% of the public shares.Akmerkez is visited by nearly 36-38,000 visitors on weekdays and 50,000 over the weekends. The number of visitors reached around 1.5 million per month, or 14 million a year. It is reported that the average visiting time is with three and half hours over the world average.The shopping mall started to host art exhibitions and events with works of significants artists in 2002.

The Ilhan Selçuk and the Enlightenment Instigators of the Republic Monument or (Turkish: İlhan Selçuk ve Cumhuriyet Aydınlanmasını Yaratanlar Anıtı), is a memorial outdoor sculpture commemorating journalist İlhan Selçuk (1925–2010) created by sculptor Mehmet Aksoy. The grand opening of the monument took place on 21 June 2012, the second death anniversary of the journalist. Due to being close to İlhan Selçuk's home, it was placed at the intersection at the head of the hill going down from Ulus to Arnavutköy in Istanbul. The sculpture is 5 m (16 ft) high and 10 m (33 ft) wide. Together with İlhan Selçuk's sculpture, reliefs of other prominent Turkish figures like Aziz Nesin (1915–1995), Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı (1886–1973), Hasan Âli Yücel (1897–1961), İsmail Hakkı Tonguç (1893–1960), Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (1881–1938), Mîna Urgan (1916–2000), Muazzez İlmiye Çığ (born 1914), Nâzım Hikmet (1902–1963), Tevfik Fikret (1867–1915), Turhan Selçuk (1922–2010), Uğur Mumcu (1942–1993) can be found on the monument. İlhan Selçuk, is figured in a corner of the Cumhuriyet newspaper where, he is looking through the window, where his signature is.

Baltalimanı is a neighborhood at a bay of the European coast of Bosporus, in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, Turkey. The name means "axe port" in Turkish. The place is known for the Treaty of Balta Liman, signed between Great Britain and the Ottoman Empire in 1838.

The Ulus Sephardi Jewish Cemetery (Turkish: Ulus Sefarad Musevi Mezarlığı) or Arnavutköy Jewish Cemetery (Turkish: Arnavutköy Musevi Mezarlığı) is a burial ground of the Sephardi Jewish community in Istanbul, Turkey. It was established in 1901 during the Ottoman Empire era in Arnavutköy neighborhood of Beşiktaş district on the city's European side.The cemetery is situated today in an area, which developed in the history from a countryside to an upscale neighborhood called Ulus. Its initial name Arnavutköy Jewish Cemetery is still in use today. It was reported that due to the location of the cemetery in the city's one of the most expensive quarters, only wealthy people are interred in the ultra-luxury Ulus Cemetery while people, who can not afford the very high amount of donation requested for a resting place, are transferred to the cemetery in Kilyos, which lies around 40 km (25 mi) far away from the city center in northern part of Istanbul. The religious burial service is provided at site by the Neve Shalom Synagogue Foundation, which also carries out the maintenance of the cemetery.There exist another Jewish cemetery in Ulus, the Ulus Ashkenazi Jewish Cemetery (Turkish: Ulus Eşkenaz Musevi Mezarlığı), which is reserved for Ashkenazi Jews.
