Titicus Reservoir

North Salem is a town in the northeastern section of Westchester County, New York, United States. The town, incorporated in 1788, is a suburb of New York City, located approximately 50 miles north of Midtown Manhattan. As of the 2020 census, North Salem was recorded as possessing a population of 5,243 people living on a land area of 21.37 square miles.The town is part of New York's Eighteenth Congressional District, represented by Mike Lawler, a Republican. First elected in 2009, Warren Lucas, a Republican, serves as North Salem's Town Supervisor.

North Salem Town Hall is a historic town hall located at Salem Center, Westchester County, New York. It was built about 1770 by the DeLancey family as a private home. It has been used for governmental and educational functions since 1773. It is a three-story frame building, covered in clapboard, five bays wide and three bays deep on a fieldstone foundation in a vernacular Georgian style. It has a gambrel roof topped by a six-sided cupola. From 1790 to 1884 it housed the North Salem Academy and, after 1886, the town offices of North Salem, New York.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Joseph Purdy Homestead is a historic home located in Purdy's, Westchester County, New York. It was built in 1776 and consists of an "L" shaped, 2+1⁄2-story main block attached to which are several 1-story wings. The main block measures six bays wide. It features a five-bay, 1-story porch along the front elevation added about 1870.In November 2011, Purdy's announced plans to be turned into a family restaurant, specializing in fish dishes and home-grown vegetables. The restaurant, known as "Purdys Farmer & The Fish," opened in Spring 2012.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Purdy's station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in North Salem, New York.

The Titicus River is an 8.5-mile-long (13.7 km) river in southwestern Connecticut and southeastern New York that drains into the Titicus Reservoir, part of New York City's water supply system. Part of both the Croton River watershed and the system's Croton Watershed, has a 23.8 square miles (62 km2) drainage area. It is one of the few rivers with headwaters in Connecticut that is part of the system. The source of the river is in Ridgefield, Connecticut. About one mile down stream, the stream marks the southern boundary of the Kiahs Brook Reserve. Another 0.5 miles downriver, it joins with Kiahs Brook, and then runs fairly close to Route 116. Once past the New York border, the Titicus River still runs close to New York 116 until emptying into the Titicus Reservoir. After the Titicus Reservoir, it runs another 0.5 miles, under I-684, and drains into the Muscoot Reservoir.

Croton Falls station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in North Salem, New York. Putnam County runs a shuttle to the station for commuters closer to its location than those of Brewster and Southeast stations.

Lift Trucks Project is a project space and artist studio located in Croton Falls, New York. It features up to four long-term exhibitions per year with notable pieces by FA-Q, Christo, Ottmar Hoerl, Ed Roth ("Big Daddy"), A. R. Penck, Sailor Jerry, and others. In addition, Lift Trucks features a permanent "Arts and Industry" exhibit with industrial artifacts and folk art items on exhibit. The name Lift Trucks is derived from the former occupants a forklift repair, sales and service business that occupied the building for over 75 years.

The East Branch Croton River is a tributary of the Croton River in Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester counties in the state of New York. It lies within the Croton River watershed and is part of the New York City water supply system's Croton Watershed.

Mead Memorial Chapel is a historic Episcopal chapel at 2 Chapel Road in the hamlet of Waccabuc, town of Lewisboro, Westchester County, New York. It was designed by Hobart B. Upjohn (1876-1949) and built in 1905–1906 in a late Gothic Revival style. It is a rectangular stone building with a steep slate roof. A wing was added in 1929, known as Mead Memorial Hall, and it houses the Mead family archives. It features a bell tower pierced by Gothic arch shaped louvered windows. It was built by Sarah Frances Studwell Mead as a memorial to her husband, George Washington Mead (1827-1899). The Mead family also owned the separately listed The Homestead. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Baxter Preserve is an area of open space in North Salem, New York, United States. It consists of two segments, Baxter South and Baxter North. The preserve has become very popular in the region since being donated.

The Gerard Crane House is a private home located on Somerstown Turnpike (U.S. Route 202) opposite Old Croton Falls Road in Somers, New York, United States. It is a stone house dating to the mid-19th century, built by an early circus entrepreneur in his later years. The house itself is an unusually sophisticated late application of the Greek Revival architectural style. The interior features a high level of decoration, particularly English Renaissance-style plaster moldings on the ceilings that are not commonly found in rural Greek Revival houses. It is the center of a 25-acre (10 ha) estate that includes not only the original outbuildings but an original section of Somerstown Turnpike and one of its mileposts. It remains largely as it was originally built. In 1985 the area was designated a historic district and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the northernmost such listing in Westchester County.
