Laven railway station

Himmelbjerget ("The Sky Mountain" or "The Mountain of Heaven") is a hill located between Ry and Silkeborg, Denmark in the area known as Søhøjlandet. With an elevation of 147 m (482 ft), Himmelbjerget is one of the highest natural points in the Danish landscape. The hill and surrounding area has been a centre for various gatherings and celebrations for more than 200 years and in 1875, a red brick tower was erected at the top.

Old Rye (Danish: Gammel Rye) is a small town in eastern Jutland, Denmark, with a population of 1,590 (1 January 2023).Rye was a very important market town in medieval Denmark. In 1534 AD, St. Søren's Church in Rye was the setting of the Election of Christian III as king of Denmark. Today, the town has been outgrown by the new town of Ry which, like so many other towns in Denmark, sprouted up around a railway station.

Ry is a town with a population of 7,382 (1 January 2023) in central Denmark, located in Skanderborg municipality in Jutland. The town sprouted up around a railway station near the older town of Rye which is now much smaller than Ry.

Ry station is a railway station serving the railway town of Ry in East Jutland, Denmark.The station is located on the Skanderborg–Skjern railway line from Skanderborg to Skjern. The station opened on 2 May 1871 with the Skanderborg-Silkeborg section of the Skanderborg-Skjern railway. The train services are currently operated by Arriva which run frequent regional train services between Aarhus and Herning.

Søhøjlandet (English: The Lake-highland) is the highest lying region in Denmark and at the same time, it has the highest density of lakes.

Until 1 January 2007 Ry municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the former Aarhus County on the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 152.44 km2, and had a total population of 11,244 (2005). Its last mayor was Jonna Grønver, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Ry. The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") that merged a number of existing parishes: Alling Parish Dover Parish Gammel Rye Parish Låsby Parish RyParish Tulstrup ParishRy municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Galten, Hørning, and Skanderborg municipalities to form the new Skanderborg municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 416 km2 and a total population of 49,469 (2005).

Øm Abbey (Øm Kloster) was a Cistercian monastery founded in 1172 in the Diocese of Aarhus near the town of Rye, between the lakes of Mossø and Gudensø in central Jutland, Denmark. It is one of many former monasteries and abbeys in the highland region of Søhøjlandet.

Klostermølle was originally a watermill, serving the now demolished Voer Abbey once situated nearby. The mill is located at the western end of lake Mossø. In 1872, the monks' old mill — operated as a grain mill since the time of the Protestant Reformation — was converted to a sawmill. The wood waste also served as feedstock for a cardboard factory, driven by water power. The finished cardboard was shipped by steamboat across the lake to the railway station in Alken. Production continued until 1974, when some of the buildings were destroyed by fire; the long lumber drying shed was spared. The Danish Forest and Nature Agency has purchased the site as part of a program of nature conservation of the area surrounding Mossø and Vissing Abbey. Today, it is both a nature center and the headquarters for the Danish youth organization Nature and Youth (Natur & Ungdom).

Voer Abbey (Danish: Voer Kloster) was a Benedictine abbey in Voerladegård parish in Skanderborg Municipality, Denmark. It was situated on the Gudenå River near Klostermølle, site of the former monastery mill.

Låsby is a small town in the province of Jutland in Denmark with a population of 2,034 (1 January 2023). It is situated on the main road between Silkeborg and Aarhus. The town is the location of the flagship property of Det Blå Marked (trans. "The Blue Market"), a chain of Danish antique markets, and which is a major tourist attraction, bringing in over half a million visitors to the town every year. In April 2005 it had its 15 minutes of fame as it became the first place in Denmark to experience the exploding toad phenomenon.

Mossø is Denmark's third largest freshwater lake and Jutland's largest, as measured by surface area. The lake is located just west of the city of Skanderborg in east Jutland, but is part of both Skanderborg Municipality and Horsens Municipality. Mossø lies in the middle of the area and landscape known as Søhøjlandet (English: The Lake-highland). There is a small lake named Mossø in the forest of Rold Skov in Himmerland.

Voerladegård Parish (Danish: Voerladegård Sogn) is a parish in the Diocese of Aarhus in Skanderborg Municipality. The parish contains the village of Voerladegård. Voerladegård Parish was a part of Brædstrup Municipality until 1 January 2007 but except the rest of the municipality, who merged into the new Horsens Municipality, Voerladegård Parish merged into the new Skanderborg Municipality.
