CPS Madison Industries Superfund Site

The Runyon Watershed is a reservoir system located in Old Bridge Township, New Jersey just south of Sayreville. It is operated by the Middlesex Water Company. The 1,100 acres (450 ha) watershed area was first established in the late 1800 when it was purchased by the city of Perth Amboy, which developed a reservoir and waterworks in the 1920s, and turned over management to the company in 2003. The area is protected, with more than 500 acres of the tract are wetlands that are from development by the state's 1990 Watershed Moratorium Act A weather station in Runyon recorded a high temperature of 110 °F (43 °C) on July 10, 1936, setting the record for the hottest temperature ever recorded in New Jersey.

The Sayreville Energy Center, or Sayreville Cogen Facility, is a combined cycle power station in Sayreville, New Jersey owned in part and operated by NextEra Energy Resources. Built by Westinghouse, it opened in 1991. It provides power to the PJM Interconnection and the Long Island Power Authority.

The Starland Ballroom is a concert venue located in Sayreville, New Jersey. Beginning in the 1960s, the building was known as the Jernee Mill Inn, a local bar with a banquet hall. It was originally known as the Hunka Bunka Ballroom and then Willy's in the 1980s. It has operated as a dance music club but more often hosted concerts with primarily metal, punk and ska lineups.

Red Oak is an 830-megawatt combined cycle gas turbine power plant located in Sayreville, New Jersey not far from the South River opened in 2002.Energy Capital acquired it from a subsidiary of the AES Corporation in April 2012, which, in November 2013, sold it to the Carlyle Group.Damage to the plant due to Hurricane Sandy in 2012 took it offline line for five months. TAQA subsidiary TAQA Gen-X owns 85% and Morgan Stanley owns 15% of the tolling agreement for the facility through its with partner. Natural gas is provided by New Jersey Resources. It is part of the PJM Interconnection of the Eastern Interconnection grid electric transmission system. A 2013 report named It is one of the largest single sources of carbon pollution in the state.The Sayreville Energy Center operated by NextEra Energy Resources is nearby.

Jukebox Radio was a network of FM radio stations based in Dumont, New Jersey from 1993 to 2003 with the callsign W276AQ on 103.1 FM. In addition, "Jukebox radio" was heard on a full–power class A FM station, WJUX-FM 99.7 from Monticello, New York from 1995 until 2004. These two stations simulcast during that time period. In addition, 94.3 FM also simulcast Jukebox Radio from Rockland County, New York from 1996 to 2003. "Jukebox Radio" originally played Traditional Big Band Music in 1993, then evolved to more of an adult standards format by 1995. "Jukebox Radio" changed to oldies in 1997, then switched back to Adult Standards, but emphasizing more baby boomer pop in 2000. Due to legal issues, Jukebox Radio was forced to sell the stations in 2002. Today, a Christian teaching/preaching/praise & worship music format called "The Bridge" (WRDR) occupies the frequencies.

Old Bridge, also known as the Historic Village of Old Bridge, is an unincorporated community located within East Brunswick in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is on the South River, a tributary of the Raritan River. The community is named after the first bridge built here to cross the river, the South River Bridge. After other bridges were built crossing the river, it became known as the Old Bridge. The Old Bridge Historic District, encompassing much of the village, is listed on the state and national registers of historic places.
