Sampreeti Bridge

The Jubilee Bridge (Bengali: জুবিলি ব্রিজ) is a former rail bridge over the Hooghly River between Naihati and Bandel in West Bengal, India. It provided an important connection between Garifa railway station and Hooghly Ghat railway station. The Jubilee Bridge was opened on 16 February 1885 in the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. Construction began in 1882 and was completed in 1887. The Chief Engineer in charge of construction works was Lt Col Arthur John Barry, nephew of Sir John Wolfe-Barry, project engineer of the London Tower Bridge. The Bridge was designed by Sir Bradford Leslie, Chief Engineer in India and Alexander Meadows Rendel. Its steel was manufactured by Hawks Crawshay of Gateshead in England and James Goodwin of Motherwell in Scotland. Bradford Leslie also designed the floating pontoon bridge across the Hooghly in Calcutta, which was replaced by the Howrah Bridge in 1942 and the Gorai River Railway Bridge near Kushtia in Bangladesh. He was a son of the American painter Charles Robert Leslie, ultimately Professor of Painting at the Royal Academy in London. The Jubilee Bridge is noteworthy in that it is a cantilever truss bridge, constructed entirely by riveting, without any nuts or bolts used in the construction.

Hooghly Imambara is a Shia Muslim congregation hall and mosque in Hooghly, West Bengal, India. The construction of the building was started by Muhammad Mohsin in 1841 and completed in 1861. The building is a two storied structure, with a tall clock tower over the entrance gate. The mosque has intricate designs and texts from Quran engraved on the wall. The interior of the mosque is decorated with marbles, candles and hanging lanterns.

Hooghly Branch Government School (or Hooghly Branch (Govt) School), established in 1834, is one of the oldest schools in West Bengal. It is located in Chawk Bazar, Hooghly, within the area of Hooghly-Chinsurah Municipality.The school is administered by the state government of West Bengal and admits only males. The School has two sessions, morning and day session. Students are taught from class 1 to class 12. The school's primary medium of instruction is Bengali and English is second language. However, on the higher secondary section, people are allowed to choose the medium of instruction as English.

Hooghly Ghat railway station is a small railway station in Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal. It is situated in the Naihati - Bandel Branch line. Its code is HYG. It serves Hooghly city. The station consists of two platforms, neither of which are well sheltered. It is raised on an elevated platform connecting the districts of Hooghly and Nadia via the Sampriti Bridge or Jubilee Bridge in the earlier years. It lacks water drinking stations and basic sanitation requirements.

Garifa railway station is a railway station on Naihati – Bandel Branch line of Howrah railway division of Eastern Railway zone. It is situated at Hazi Nagar, Ramghat, Garifa in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Garifa is a connecting station of Sealdah main line and Howrah–Bardhaman main line through Sampreeti Bridge and Jubilee Bridge. Hooghly Gour Hari Harijan Vidya Mandir is a co-ed school in Chawk Bazar near Bandel/Chinsurah, India, on the bank of the Hooghly River. The school was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi on 8 March 1921. Hooghly Women's College, established in 1949, is a women's arts and sciences college located in the Hooghly district of West Bengal, India. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce and sciences. It is affiliated to University of Burdwan. Hooghly Women's College is the sixth academic institution in the district and is the first women's college of the district and also is the largest Women's College of Burdwan University. The college was affiliated to the Calcutta University up to 1962 and then to the University of Burdwan for the degree students in arts and sciences.

Hooghly Engineering and Technology College (HETC) is a self financed engineering college run by the Hooghly Engineering & Technology College Society, engaged in the promotion of technical education amongst students and the dissemination of scientific knowledge in society. The institute is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formally known as WBUT). It is recognised by the Government of West Bengal and its courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Hooghly Institute of Technology, established in 1951, is a government polytechnic located in Vivekananda Road, Pipulpati, Hooghly district, West Bengal. This polytechnic is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. This polytechnic offers diploma courses in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical Engineering.

The Basilica of the Holy Rosary (commonly known as Bandel Church) is one of the oldest Christian churches in West Bengal, India. Situated in Bandel, Hooghly district of West Bengal, it stands as a memorial to the Portuguese settlement in Bengal. Founded in 1599, it is dedicated to Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Our Lady of the Rosary. It is also a parish church, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta. It is one of the most prominent historical churches in West Bengal as well as in India.

Don Bosco School, Bandel is an all-boys, English medium school in Sahaganj, Hooghly, West Bengal, India. It was established in 1978 and run by the Salesians of Don Bosco which is a congregation within the Catholic Church. The school operates under the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. It is one of the international Don Bosco "family of schools".
