South Cairo, New York

Mahayana Temple (Chinese: 大乘寺; pinyin: Dàchèng Sì; Jyutping: Da4sing4 Zi6) is a Chinese Buddhist temple located within a forest in South Cairo, New York. It is the retreat of the Eastern States Buddhist Temple of America, Inc. ("ESBT"), whose downtown branch of the Mahayana Temple (aka Mahayana City Campus) is located in New York. The original retreat land was donated by James Ying. The temple grounds in South Cairo contain the Grand Buddha Hall (with dormitories located in the wings and a dining hall located on the lower level), the Kuan Yin Hall, the 500 Arhat Hall, the Seven Storied Jade Pagoda, the Earth Spirit Bodhisattva Hall, a three-unit temple dedicated to the spirits of the land, and an obelisk marking the burial site of members of the Ying family.

Salisbury Manor is an historic 1730 farmhouse near Leeds, Greene County, New York. The house was built by Francis Salisbury for his oldest son Abraham. The house was expanded in 1760 and 1823, leading to a mix of architectural styles.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 for its architectural significance and representation of colonial era settlement. It is privately owned.

Potic Creek is a 10.1-mile-long (16.3 km) tributary to Catskill Creek in the Catskill Mountains of New York. The name comes from the Mahican for a waterfall, originally referring to the falls in the Catskill near Wolcott Mills. Newkirk Homestead, also known as the Newkirk-Garcia House, is a historic home located at Leeds in Greene County, New York. The original structure and basement dates to the 18th century. It is a five-bay, 1+1⁄2-story frame dwelling to which is attached a 2-story, three-bay frame addition completed in the mid-19th century. It features a Greek Revival style portico with four Doric columns, also added in the mid-19th century. Also on the property are a corn crib, two barns, and a barn foundation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Jan de Bakker's Kill (pronounced yon-de-bocker) is a 7.1-mile-long (11.4 km) tributary of Catskill Creek, part of the Hudson River watershed, in the Catskill Mountains of New York. Its name derives from the Dutch and means "John the Baker's Creek," Jan de Bakker being the name or title of several generations of local native leaders in the late 17th through mid 18th centuries.
