The Tou Mu Kung Temple 斗母宮 is a Taoist temple situated on Upper Serangoon Road, Singapore. Worshipping the Empress Registrar of Birth or Doumu (斗母) and Nine Emperor (九皇大帝) Deities, the temple has both Taoist and Buddhist influences. There are other temples dedicated to Tou Mu (Dou Mu) in many parts of China (e.g. on Mount Tai).

The Haji Yusoff Mosque (Malay: Masjid Haji Yusoff) is a mosque located in Hillside Drive, off Upper Serangoon Road, Singapore. It is a Wakaf type of mosque.This redeveloped mosque is located in the Northeast part of the island was first built in 1896. It underwent redevelopment in 1995 and can now accommodate up to 400 people. Some of its activities include madrasah classes and religious lectures for adults.

Serangoon Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Serangoon, Singapore. It is located at 33 Yio Chu Kang Road, Singapore 545677. It has a seating capacity of 1,200. It was built in 1993 and opened to the public on 1 March 1994.The stadium is open to the public for recreational activities. Many events had been organized in the stadium since its opening.

Kovan (Chinese: 高文; pinyin: Gāo Wén) is a neighbourhood located within the town of Hougang, in the North-East Region of Singapore. The neighbourhood today largely consists of private housing properties, where majority of the residents live in terrace homes, semi-detached houses and bungalows.

Tua Jia Ka, alternatively spelled Tua Jia Kar, is a commemorative replica of a former well in the Somapah Serangoon Village, which was also known as Tua Jia Ka. It is situated in Kovan, Singapore, and occupies the former site of the village.

Heartland Mall (Chinese: 心邻坊) is a shopping mall in Singapore. A relatively small shopping mall in comparison with other malls, it serves the neighbourhood of Kovan. It consists of four floors without a basement, and the fourth level occupied only by tuition centres. The parking spaces are only available in front of the mall area, in an open public carpark. The neighbourhood mall is located at Block 205 Hougang Street 21, just next to Kovan MRT station. The mall is situated in an area known as Kovan City (Chinese: 高文城) which used to be Hougang Town Centre, but the town centre was shifted to Hougang Central when neighbourhoods sprung up further north.

Kovan MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North East line (NEL) in Hougang, Singapore. Located underneath Upper Serangoon Road, the station serves the retail development of Heartland Mall and surrounding public and private residences. First announced in March 1996, the station commenced operations on 20 June 2003. Its construction required multiple diversions of Upper Serangoon Road. Like all stations on the NEL, Kovan station is operated by SBS Transit. The station features an artwork The Trade-off by Eng Tow as part of the network's Art-in-Transit programme.

Serangoon Bus Interchange is a bus interchange serving Serangoon New Town in Singapore, and is within walking distance from Serangoon MRT station. Opened on 3 September 2011, it is the smallest air-conditioned bus interchange in Singapore with 9 services and 17 bus bays.

Serangoon MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North East (NEL) and Circle (CCL) lines. Situated in Serangoon, Singapore along Upper Serangoon Road and Serangoon Central, the station is integrated with the Nex shopping complex and the Serangoon Bus Interchange. The station is near the Serangoon Neighbourhood Police Centre and Braddell Heights Community Hub and serves various residential estates in the area. Preliminary studies for the NEL in the late 1980s included a tentative line alignment serving the Serangoon area. The station was confirmed in 1996; its construction involved the erection of the road viaduct above Upper Serangoon Road. In October 1999, it was announced that the station would interchange with the CCL. The NEL station was completed in June 2003. During the construction of the CCL tunnels, ground settlement caused the NEL station to sink, leading to a brief halt in excavation works. The CCL platforms opened in May 2009 as part of Stage 3 of the CCL. The station has eight entrances, four of which are triangular and enclosed in cubic structures. The station features three artworks as part of the MRT network's Art-in-Transit programme. The NEL platforms and concourse display woodcut prints as part of Eng Joo Heng's artwork Memories of Childhood. The CCL station's concourse features the painting View of Life by Sarkasi Said, while the CCL platforms contain a set of art seats entitled Matrix.

The Japanese Cemetery Park (Japanese: 日本人墓地公園; rōmaji: Nihonjin bochi kōen) is a Japanese cemetery and park in Serangoon, Singapore. It is the largest Japanese cemetery in Southeast Asia at 29,359 square metres, consisting of 910 tombstones that contain the remains of members of the Japanese community in Singapore, including young Japanese prostitutes, civilians, soldiers and convicted war criminals executed in Changi Prison. It was gazetted as a memorial park by the Singapore government in 1987.

Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School (PLMGS) is an all-girls' school, consisting of two sections – the Primary School and Secondary School, located in Hougang, Singapore. Running on a single-session, the school caters to students from Primary 1 to 6 and Secondary 1 to 4/5 in the Express, Normal Academic and Normal Technical streams in Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Primary) and Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary). The primary and secondary schools have over 4000 students. Since 1995, PLMGS(Sec)and (Pri) has been offering Higher Mother Tongue languages and specialised deep-learning programmes in Maths, Science and Aesthetics.

Defu Industrial Park is an industrial estate, a subzone of Hougang in the northeast region of Singapore, located at the fringe of Hougang New Town. Defu will be expanded to two million square metres (sq m) of industrial space for various industries.
