Harrington Gardens

Kensington and Chelsea was a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom 1997–2010. It was one of the safest Conservative seats in the United Kingdom, and since its creation in 1997 became a prestigious seat, with MP Alan Clark, the former Defence Secretary Michael Portillo and the former Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind all holding the seat for the Conservatives. The seat was abolished for the 2010 election, when the 1974–1997 Kensington constituency was recreated and Chelsea formed a new constituency together with the southern part of the former Hammersmith and Fulham constituency, called the Chelsea and Fulham constituency.

The Bentley London is a luxury AA 5-star hotel in London, England. It is located at 27-33 Harrington Gardens in south Kensington, lying between Cromwell Road to the north and Brompton Road to the south in close proximity to some of London's major museums including the Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and other sites of note such as the Royal Albert Hall, Sloane Square and the Royal Court Theatre, and the boutiques of Knightsbridge such as Harrods and Harvey Nichols. The hotel contains 64 rooms. The building was first constructed in 1880 and joined the Hilton Group as a Franchise in October 2008 and added to the elite Waldorf-Astoria collection on 12 March 2009. As of January 2012, The Bentley Hotel is a standalone Luxury hotel with no association with Hilton or Waldorf Astoria.

The High Commission of Saint Lucia in London is the diplomatic mission of Saint Lucia in the United Kingdom. It shares the building with the High Commission of Dominica.The High Commission was used as a location in the 1989 film For Queen and Country starring Denzel Washington, although it is unclear whether it was filmed here.

1–8 Collingham Gardens are eight Grade II* listed houses in Collingham Gardens, Earls Court, London. The houses were built by Ernest George in 1881–84.

Collingham Gardens is a garden square in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London. Built between 1881 and 1888, the buildings on either side of the garden were designed by Ernest George and Peto, a firm that grafted Northern European urban motifs onto plainer Queen Anne style stock.The street Collingham Gardens forms three sides of the quadrangle; the south side is part of the north side of Bolton Gardens. It intersects with Braham Gardens, Harrington Gardens and Wetherby Gardens. The communal garden itself is only accessible to residents of the surrounding townhouses, but is open to the general public during Open Garden Squares Weekend.

St Mellitus College is an English theological college established in 2007 by the Diocese of London and the Diocese of Chelmsford of the Church of England. It has campuses in Earl's Court, Chelmsford, Liverpool and Plymouth, with growing links with other churches, colleges and dioceses throughout the United Kingdom and beyond. The president is Graham Tomlin, Bishop of Kensington, and the dean is Russell Winfield. St Mellitus College is a wholly non-residential college and has pioneered context-based training within the Church of England, integrating academic theological study with ministry placements throughout the course of study.

St Jude's Church, Courtfield Gardens, Kensington, London, was designed by architects George Godwin and Henry Godwin, and built between 1867–70; the tower and spire were constructed in 1879. It was built on the northern portion of Captain Robert Gunter's estate. The project was overseen by Reverend J. A. Aston, and financed by John Derby Allcroft, a wealthy glove manufacturer. The construction, not including the tower, pulpit, font and organ cost £11,300, and was undertaken by Myers & Sons.The building is now occupied by St Mellitus College, led by the Dean, Andy Emerton. The College runs ordination and theology courses. It is also occupied by a homeless charity, the Earl's Court Project. On Sundays the building is one of five sites where the church of Holy Trinity Brompton meets.

Collingham College is an independent, co-educational school, founded as Collingham Tutors in 1975, by Old Etonian John Marsden and Nicholas Browne. Collingham is situated in London's Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is directly between Earl's Court and Gloucester Road stations, both served by the District and the Piccadilly lines. Collingham's campus includes the sixth form building at 23 Collingham Gardens, and the GCSE school occupying a Georgian townhouse on Young Street by Kensington Palace.The Principal of Collingham is Sally Powell, BA PGCE MPhil Oxon and the Deputy Principal is James Allder BA. Many of the tutors at Collingham are expert academics, who join the school after professional careers in their field. Mock admissions tests and interviews are available for Oxbirdge applicants. There are about two hundred and fifty students at Collingham. Pupils come from a range of academic abilities and backgrounds, with many joining from public schools. Most of the students are from 14 to 19 years of age. They run Christmas and Easter revision courses near to exams which are available to the public. According to the Good Schools Guide, "You go to Collingham for two things - the academics and the sense of being independent while, in reality, being nurtured and carefully monitored. The level of support given to students is exceptional, reflected in a growth of confidence and the desire to succeed." Collingham was originally founded from Gibbs' Preparatory School. Former pupils include Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, David Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon, Robert Kennedy, Ted Kennedy and Frederick Tennyson.

The West London Air Terminal was a check-in facility for British European Airways flights from Heathrow Airport. It was located on Cromwell Road in Kensington, London, and was in operation from 6 October 1957 to 1 January 1974. After passengers checked in their baggage and received their boarding passes, they would travel to Heathrow Airport by coach. One of the drawbacks of using the terminal for checking in was that road traffic could delay the coaches and ultimately delay the departure of the flight.

The Bailey's Hotel, is a historic hotel in the Kensington district of London. The postal address is 140 Gloucester Road, but the main entrance is on Courtfield Road, opposite Gloucester Road tube station. It was established in 1876 and named after its original owner, Sir James Bailey (1840-1910), Member of Parliament.

The Drayton Arms is a Grade II listed public house at 153 Old Brompton Road, Earls Court, London.It was built in the late 19th century, and the architect is not known.

The Cromwell Curve was a short section of railway line on the London Underground between Gloucester Road and High Street Kensington stations. The line was opened by the District Railway (DR) on 5 July 1871. The tracks formed a triangle across the end of the ∨ connecting the District's existing routes from Earl's Court station to Gloucester Road and High Street Kensington, and ran in a cutting parallel to the Metropolitan Railway (MR). The name derives from Cromwell Road which is immediately south of the site of the curve. The track was opened without Parliamentary authority in an attempt by the DR to increase its share of the revenues from the Inner Circle (now the Circle line), which were divided on the basis of mileage of track owned by the DR and the MR. Sir John Fowler arbitrated the dispute, ruling on 27 July that Inner Circle receipts were to be divided 67% to the Metropolitan and 33% to the District (revised to 50:50 in 1878, due to increased traffic from the District's western lines). Although the Cromwell Curve was used only occasionally, the dispute between the two companies continued until 1903, when the matter was finally decided in favour of the Metropolitan.The 240-metre (790 ft) long curve was closed in 1956 and the tracks are no longer in place. In 1957 the site was used for the West London Air Terminal. This closed in 1974 and part of its building is used as a supermarket.
