Maternidade Alfredo da Costa (Portuguese pronunciation: [mɐ.tɨɾ.ni.ˈða.ðɨ aɫ.fɾe.ðu dɐ ˈkɔʃ.tɐ], "Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital") is a public Central Hospital serving the Greater Lisbon area as part of the Central Lisbon University Hospital Centre (CHULC), a state-owned enterprise. Established in 1932 as a specialised maternity hospital, Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital was created to replace the old and increasingly inadequate Enfermaria de Santa Bárbara (Saint Barbara Ward), in Saint Joseph's Hospital, then the only maternity ward in the city. It evolved into a national reference centre in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, social assistance and scientific research; it remains one of the largest maternity hospitals in the country (3,673 childbirths in 2017).Construction of the building, designed by Ventura Terra, lasted from 1914 to 1932, and was significantly delayed by the First World War, increased construction costs, and a chronically under-funded budget. It is named after Manuel Vicente Alfredo da Costa (1859–1910), eminent surgeon and pioneering obstetrician who had lobbied for the creation of a maternity hospital in Lisbon since 1898. On 21 January 1983, Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital was made a Honorary Member of the Order of Merit.

The Museum-Residence of Dr. Anastácio Gonçalves (Portuguese: Casa-Museu Dr. Anastácio Gonçalves) is a former residential home built in the art nouveau style that has been converted into a museum of nineteenth-century Portuguese painting and of art nouveau art and artifacts. It is located in the civil parish of Avenidas Novas, in the municipality and Portuguese capital of Lisbon. In the summer of 2019, the Museum closed for renovation works.

The Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (Portuguese: Agência para a Integração, Migrações e Asilo) known in its acronym AIMA is a public institution integrated into the indirect administration of the Government of Portugal, endowed with legal personality, administrative and financial autonomy, and its own assets. On April 6, 2023, the Council of Ministers approved the creation of a new entity that would assume the some of the administrative functions of the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) and also absorb the functions of the High Commissioner for Migration. On October 29, 2023, with the completion of the SEF's abolition process, AIMA officially began operations. AIMA holds technical and administrative responsibilities in implementing migration policies, such as documentation, database management, relationships and cooperation with other institutions, and external representation, particularly within the Schengen Area and with the European border and asylum agencies.

The Secondary School Luís de Camões (Portuguese: Escola Secundária Luís de Camões) is a secondary school located in the civil parish of Arroios, in the municipality and Portuguese capital of Lisbon, classified as a Monumento de Interesse Público (Monument of Public Interest) in 2012. Founded in 1902 and named after Portuguese poet Luís de Camões, it is one of the largest and most prestigious secondary schools in Lisbon, known for the many important Portuguese public figures who have attended it, including novelist António Lobo Antunes, current UN Secretary-General António Guterres and former President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso.

The Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (Portuguese: Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas, I.P.), ICNF, is the responsible governmental body for the nature and forest policies, including the management of Protected Areas and State managed national, municipal and communal forests of mainland Portugal.

Eduardo VII Park (Portuguese: Parque Eduardo VII) is a public park in Lisbon, Portugal. The park occupies an area of 26 hectares (64 acres) to the north of Avenida da Liberdade and Marquis of Pombal Square in Lisbon's city center. The park is named for King Edward VII of the United Kingdom, who visited Portugal in 1903 to strengthen relations between the two countries and reaffirm the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance. Until Edward's visit the park was called Parque da Liberdade (Liberty Park). In 1945 Portuguese Modernist architect Francisco Keil do Amaral redesigned the park to its current configuration. The Carlos Lopes Pavilion, the former Portuguese pavilion at the 1922 Rio de Janeiro International Exposition, and the Estufa Fria—a 1.5-hectare (3.7-acre) greenhouse garden—are situated within the park. The largest Portuguese flag in the world is usually flown at the park's northern end. The Lisbon Book Fair is held annually in Eduardo VII Park. The Instituto Camões (English: Camões Institute), formally, Camões — Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I. P. (English: Camões — Institute for Cooperation and Language, Public Institute), is a Portuguese international institution dedicated to the worldwide promotion of the Portuguese language, Portuguese culture, and international aid, on behalf of the Government of Portugal. Headquartered in Lisbon with centers across five continents, the mission of the Instituto Camões is the promotion of Portugal's language, culture, values, charity, and economy. The institution is named for Portuguese Renaissance author Luís Vaz de Camões, considered the greatest poet of the Portuguese language and the national poet of Portugal. Originating in the early 20th century as the Portuguese Institute for High Culture, the institution restructured with a greater linguistic focus in 1980, and absorbed the Portuguese Institute for Development Support, Portugal's development aid agency, in 2012. The Instituto Camões exercises institutional autonomy, under the supervision of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the role of co-ordination and execution of external cultural policies of the Portuguese Government.

The Marquis of Pombal Square (Portuguese: Praça do Marquês de Pombal) is an important roundabout in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. It is located between the Avenida da Liberdade (Liberty Avenue) and the Eduardo VII Park in the former parish of Coração de Jesus and in the quarter of Santo António. The square is the radiating point for various important avenues: Liberdade, Duque de Loulé and Fontes Pereira de Melo, as well as the streets Braamcamp and Joaquim António de Aguiar. The Blue and Yellow lines (Linha Azul and Linha Amarela) of the Lisbon Metro (Metropolitano de Lisboa) stop at Marquês de Pombal station, which was called Rotunda until March 1998. Eighteen bus lines operated by Carris also serve the square.Its name is a reference to Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, 1st Marquis of Pombal, 1st Count of Oeiras, the powerful prime-minister who ruled Portugal from 1750 to 1777.

The capture of Lisbon occurred in 1094 when the Almoravids, led by Syr ibn Abi Bakr, invaded and captured Lisbon from the Castilian governor, Count Raymond of Burgundy.
