It is one of 29 covered bridges in New York State and the oldest covered bridge in New York that continues to carry motor vehicle traffic. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Newfield is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tompkins County, New York, United States. The population was 759 at the 2010 census. Newfield Hamlet lies near the center of the town of Newfield and is located southwest of Ithaca. It was incorporated as a village in 1895. On September 21, 1926, local residents voted in favor of dissolution. Final sale and transfer of assets and services to the Town of Newfield took place on March 21, 1927 when the Village of Newfield Board of Trustees held their last meeting. The village officially dissolved on December 31, 1927.

Enfield Falls Mill and Miller's House, also known as Treman House and Mill, is a historic grist mill and former millowner's residence located at Robert H. Treman State Park near Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York. The mill is a 2+1⁄2-story frame structure over a stone foundation. It is a turbine-powered mill constructed in 1839. The mill has three runs of stones: one for griding buckwheat, one for grinding wheat, and a third for grinding coarser grain. The mill ceased operation in 1917. The millowner's house is a simple but elegant vernacular Greek Revival–style dwelling. The house consists of a 1+1⁄2-story main section, with a slightly lower L-shaped wing. It serves as home for the park superintendent.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Coreorgonel was an 18th-century Native American village in what is now Tompkins County, New York. The name has been translated as "Where we keep the pipe of peace."In the mid 18th century, a group of Tutelo, a Siouan-speaking people, migrated north from their homelands in Virginia to seek the protection of their former enemies, the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). The Cayuga adopted the Tutelo and a related tribe, the Saponi, in 1753. The Tutelo built the village of Coreorgonel with about 25 to 30 homes, near the present-day junction of state routes 13 and 13A along the Cayuga Inlet, just south of Ithaca.In 1779, a detachment of the Sullivan-Clinton Expedition under Colonel Henry Dearborn, tasked with wiping out Native opposition to the American Revolution, burned the village and displaced the inhabitants. Many of the survivors fled north to Canada with the Cayuga. The site is now the location of Ithaca's Tutelo Park.
