Downtown Baton Rouge Historic District is a historic district in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, located along 3rd Street, from Main Street to North Boulevard. The district comprises a total of 43 commercial buildings ranging in dates from c.1860 to mid-1950s. Third street was downtown Baton Rouge main commercial avenue during historic period. Of the 32 contributing properties, six are also individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Despite being located inside the district area, the individually listed Belisle Building is not part of Downtown Baton Rouge Historic District, as its non-historic elements are evaluated as predominant. The building is therefore considered a non-contributing property.The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 10, 2009.

The St. James Episcopal Church, located in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. Although Episcopalians began gathering in 1819, St. James Church formally organized as an Episcopal congregation in 1844 due to the influence and support of Margaret MacKall Taylor, wife of president Zachary Taylor. Within the spectrum of worship styles in the Anglican tradition, St. James Church was a Low Church parish during the 19th century, but has been considered a Broad Church parish since the early to mid 20th Century. In addition to worship, St. James Church is actively involved in service to the community, pastoral care, and Christian education for all ages. The church is also home to a two-time National Blue Ribbon day school (18 month through 5th grade).

The Chase Tower is a 21-story building in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that serves as a business suite for many small businesses. It is the south tower of two towers, its counterpart being the Chase North Tower. In 2022 The Chase Towers were renamed the Rivermark Centre and renovated.

The Central Fire Station in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at 427 Laurel St., was built in 1924. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It has also been known as Bogan Fire Station and it is home to the Robert A. Bogan Firefighters Museum. It is a two-story brick and terra cotta building with a Gothic Revival facade. It was designed by architect William T. Nolan and was built by the City of Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge City Club, also known as the Old Post Office, is a historic three-story building at 355 North Blvd in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was built in 1895 as a U.S. post office building. Its NRHP nomination asserts:The Old Post Office is one of the finest and most pretentious examples of turn-of-the-[20th]-century Renaissance Revival architecture in the state. Few other comparable buildings in Louisiana can boast such a high degree of stylistic sophistication and close adherence to Italian prototypes and such extensive use of terra cotta ornamentation, In its day, its design stood at the forefront of architectural development in the state. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 9, 1980. It was also included in the Downtown Baton Rouge Historic District at the time of its creation on November 10, 2009.

The Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center is a historic hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, originally built in 1927 as the Heidelberg Hotel. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The Heidelberg Hotel was a favorite dwelling of Louisiana Governor Huey Long, who had a fourth-floor suite. For a time it was known as the Capitol House Hotel, when under the management of former State Representative Chris Faser, Jr. Huey P. Long, John F. Kennedy, Hubert Humphrey, Jimmy Carter, Will Rogers, and Fidel Castro were all guests of the hotel.The hotel closed in 1985, and was mostly derelict until 2005. It reopened after a $70 million renovation on August 30, 2006, as the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. the hotel was also inducted into Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, since 2007.The hotel's NRHP listing was increased in 2008 to include the Hotel King across the street and the listing was renamed Heidelberg Hotel and Hotel King .

The Shaw Center for the Arts is a 125,000 square foot (12,000 m²) performing art venue, fine arts museum, and education center located at 100 Lafayette Street in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It opened in 2005. The Center includes the LSU Museum of Art, the LSU School of Art Glassell Gallery, the 325-seat Manship Theatre, classrooms, Tsunami, a rooftop sushi restaurant, and a park. Among other collections, the museum includes the largest assemblage of Newcomb Pottery in the United States. The skin of the Shaw Center for the Arts is made of translucent channel glass manufactured in Germany by Glasfabrik Lamberts. The Shaw Center received the American Institute of Architects Gulf States Honor Award in 2005 for its "aggressive concept with a good contrast of materials" and "effective mapping of façade upon the plaza" [1]. The center was built with both public and private funding. The Shaw Group was a major donor to Shaw Center for the Arts, and received the naming rights to the building, however the Shaw Center is neither owned by The Shaw Group nor do they share employees. Other major donors were the Manship families, the Pennington families and Lamar Advertising, which is based in Baton Rouge (Lamar and Reilly families). St. Joseph Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de San José) is a Catholic cathedral located in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. It is the mother church of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 22, 1990.

One American Place is a skyscraper in Downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Its exterior surface is clad entirely in mirrored glass. Completed in 1974, with 24 floors, it stands 308 feet tall. It is currently the second-tallest building in Downtown Baton Rouge.

Main Street Historic District is a historic district in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, located along Main Street, from North 4th Street to North 7th Street. The 2.5 acres (1.0 ha) area comprises a total of 11 historic commercial buildings, dating from c.1890 to c.1935.The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 7, 1985.

The Old Louisiana Governor's Mansion is located at 502 North Blvd. between Royal and St. Charles Streets in Baton Rouge and was used as Louisiana's official gubernatorial residence between 1930 and 1963; a new residence was completed in 1963. The Old Governor's Mansion was built under the governorship of Huey Long, its first resident. The building is reported to be inspired by the White House in Washington D.C. as it was originally designed by Thomas Jefferson. It is said that Long wanted to be familiar with the White House when he became president, so he had the White House duplicated in Baton Rouge. Some dispute this legend and simply say that the building is merely a fine example of a Georgian-style mansion.

Baton Rouge station is a historic train station located at 100 South River Road in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was built for the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad which got absorbed by the Illinois Central Railroad. The station was a stop on the Y&MV main line between Memphis, Tennessee and New Orleans, Louisiana. The building now houses the Louisiana Art and Science Museum.The two-story main block and the two one-story wings in Classical Revival style stand directly across the Old State Capitol building.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 19, 1994, as the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad Co. Depot. IC-333, a 0-6-0 steam engine formerly owned by the Charles Black Sand & Gravel Company of Fluker, LA, is on display just outside the building. Several passenger cars previously on display have been removed. As of 2011, IC-333 and its tender have been removed from the site as well.
