Bedford is a community of the Halifax Regional Municipality, in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Scott Manor House was built sometime between 1769 and 1772 and is now a museum in Bedford, Nova Scotia. It is the second oldest house in the Halifax Regional Municipality, after the Morris House, and was built by Joseph Scott on the land once owned by his brother Captain George Scott. The house was built next to Fort Sackville, which was under the command of Joseph Scott (1760).

Fort Sackville was a British fort in present-day Bedford, Nova Scotia. It was built during Father Le Loutre's War by British adjacent to present-day Scott Manor House, on a hill overlooking the Sackville River to help prevent French, Acadian and Mi'kmaq attacks on Halifax. The fort consisted of a blockhouse, a guard house, a barracks that housed 50 soldiers, and outbuildings, all encompassed by a palisade. Not far from the fort was a rifle range. The fort was named after George Germain, 1st Viscount Sackville.

CHSB-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts a Christian Radio format on the frequency 99.3 FM in Bedford, Nova Scotia and serving the northern suburbs of Halifax. The station is branded as Hilltop FM. Owned by the Bedford Baptist Church, the station originally received CRTC approval on July 26, 2006 to operate on 89.1 FM; however, a technical change to broadcast at its current frequency 99.3 FM received approval on September 26, 2008, due to potential interference from a nearby radio station in Kentville, CIJK-FM 89.3, which received CRTC approval to broadcast in 2007.

It occupies about 312 ha (770 acres) of land.

The Bennett Daniel Fultz House is one of the earliest houses in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia and the community's only museum. It is located on its original land, on the corner of the "Great Roads" leading from Halifax to Truro and to the Annapolis Valley.

Charles P. Allen High School (CPA) is a senior high school located in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada. This school serves Hammonds Plains, Bedford and a section of Halifax since 2010; for three years at the original CPA and current location since 2013. It serviced Waverley, Fall River, Windsor Junction and Montague Gold Mines until 2000 when Lockview High School was opened. It opened in 1978, six years after Sackville High School was opened and did serve Bedford. In 2009, CPA ranked 2nd with a grade of A- on the AIMS list. The school is one of only five schools in HRM that offers the International Baccalaureate Programme; a two year, internationally standardised university-prep program. CPA also offers the O2 program, a three-year program that is unique to Nova Scotia public schools.
