La Roche-sur-Yon

Vendée (French pronunciation: [vɑ̃de] ; Breton: Vande) is a department in the Pays de la Loire region in Western France, on the Atlantic coast. In 2019, it had a population of 685,442. Its prefecture is La Roche-sur-Yon.

The Hôtel de Ville (French pronunciation: [otɛl də vil], City Hall) is a municipal building in La Roche-sur-Yon, Vendée, western France, standing on Place Napoléon. It is due to be replaced by a new municipal building on the corner of Jean Jaurès and Rue Salvador Allende in 2025.

The arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon is an arrondissement of France in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region. It has 79 communes. Its population is 293,895 (2016), and its area is 2,489.1 km2 (961.0 sq mi).

The Institut catholique d'études supérieures (English: Catholic Institute of Higher Studies), also called "Catholic University of Vendée", is a Grande école in Vendée, France, founded in 1989. In 1990, under the authority of the Catholic University of the West, the Catholic University of the Vendée (ICES) was opened in La Roche-sur-Yon. After three years of collaboration, the Superior Council of the Catholic University of the West awarded the Catholic University of the Vendée (ICES) its academic independence in 1993. François Garnier, Bishop of Luçon, became the institutional head of the establishment with the responsibility of maintaining its ecclesiastical membership. It was accepted as a French Grande Ecole by Conférence des Grandes Ecoles in 2023. ICES has a main building, designed by the French architect Denis Laming, that was built between 1990 and 1994. The University Library was completed in 1997. A student residence was established in the abandoned convent of the Sisters of the Christian Schools of Mercy in 2000.

La Roche-sur-Yon Agglomération is the communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of La Roche-sur-Yon. It is located in the Vendée department, in the Pays de la Loire region, western France. Created in 2010, its seat is in La Roche-sur-Yon. Its area is 499.4 km2. Its population was 97,771 in 2019, of which 55,147 in La Roche-sur-Yon proper.

Stade Henri Desgranges is a stadium in La Roche-sur-Yon, France. It is currently used for football matches and is the home stadium of La Roche VF. The stadium holds 10,000 spectators.

Mouilleron-le-Captif (French pronunciation: [mujʁɔ̃ lə kaptif]) is a commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France.
