Tabio is a municipality and town of Colombia in the department of Cundinamarca. It's located at 45 km (28 mi) from Bogotá. The town was officially founded April 8, 1603, by Diego Gómez de Mena, on grounds that were the property of the native Muisca who inhabited the area. Tabio borders Zipaquirá in the north, Cajicá in the east, Subachoque in the west and Tenjo in the south.

The Moon Temple of Chía was a temple constructed by the Muisca as a place of worship for their Moon goddess Chía. The temple was built in Chía, Cundinamarca, Colombia, then part of the Muisca Confederation. It was one of the most important temples in the religion of the Muisca. The temple was destroyed during the Spanish conquest of the Muisca on the Altiplano Cundiboyacense. Little is known about the temple built on the Tíquiza Hill in western Chía bordering Tabio.

Tenjo is a municipality and town of Colombia in the Central Savanna Province, part of the department of Cundinamarca. The urban centre is located at an altitude of 2,587 metres (8,488 ft) on the Bogotá savanna. Tenjo is part of the Metropolitan Area of Bogotá and borders Chía, Madrid, Tabio, Funza, Subachoque and Cota.

Subachoque is a municipality and town of Colombia in the Western Savanna Province, part of the department of Cundinamarca. The municipality is situated on the Bogotá savanna with the urban centre at an altitude of 2,663 metres (8,737 ft) at a distance of 45 kilometres (28 mi) from the capital Bogotá. Subachoque is part of the Metropolitan Area of Bogotá and borders Zipaquirá, Tabio and Tenjo in the east, Zipaquirá and Pacho in the north, San Francisco and Supatá in the west and Madrid and El Rosal in the south. Subachoque is composed of 17 subdivisions: Altania, Canica Alta, Canica Baja, Cascajal, El Guamal, El Pantano, El Páramo, El Tobal, Galdámez, La Cuesta, La Pradera, La Unión, La Yegüera, Llanitos, Rincón Santo, Santa Rosa, Tibagota, El Valle.

Central Savanna Province (Spanish: Sabana Centro) is one of the fifteen provinces of Cundinamarca, in the country of Colombia. It is located in the central area of the department, and has 11 municipalities. The province capital is the city of Zipaquirá.

Cajicá is a municipality and town of Colombia in the department of Cundinamarca, 39 km (24 mi) north of the capital Bogotá. It is located in the Central Savanna Province, being the third most populous municipality in the province after Zipaquirá and Chía. It is bordered by the municipalities of Zipaquirá to the north, Sopó to the east, Chía to the south, and Tabio to the west. The town is located at an altitude of 2,558 metres (8,392 ft) and has an average temperature of 14 °C (57 °F).

The Zipaquirá Province (Spanish: Provincia de Zipaquirá) was an administrative division of the Republic of New Granada. It was created on 6 May 1852 when the Bogotá Province was subdivided. The province existed until 24 May 1855, when its territory was reintegrated into the Bogotá Province.

Chía is a city and municipality in the Cundinamarca department of Colombia, located to the north of Bogotá on the main road to Zipaquira. Its history dates back to the pre-Columbian era. Due to its proximity to Bogotá, Chía has effectively become a suburb of the capital. It is also home of the Universidad de la Sabana. Chia is also known for its gastronomy and its variety of restaurants, ones of the best-known restaurants are Andres Carne de Res, El Galapago, El Despacho and The Store of Don Chucho.

Department of Cundinamarca (Departamento de Cundinamarca, Spanish pronunciation: [kundinaˈmaɾka]) is one of the departments of Colombia. Its area covers 22,623 square kilometres (8,735 sq mi) (not including the Capital District) and it has a population of 2,919,060 as of 2018. It was created on August 5, 1886, under the constitutional terms presented on the same year. Cundinamarca is located in the center of Colombia. Cundinamarca's capital city is Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. This is a special case among Colombian departments, since Bogotá is not legally a part of Cundinamarca, yet it is the only department that has its capital designated by the Constitution (if the capital were to be ever moved, it would take a constitutional reform to do so, instead of a simple ordinance passed by the Cundinamarca Assembly). In censuses, the populations for Bogotá and Cundinamarca are tabulated separately; otherwise, Cundinamarca's population would total over 11 million.

The Universidad de La Sabana is a private university in Colombia, supervised by the Colombian Ministry of Education. It was founded on September 21, 1979 by the Asociación para la Enseñanza Aspaen, its predecessor was the INSE "Instituto Superior de Educación", considered one of the first in distance education in the country and Latin America. La Sabana is one of the best universities in the country according to several rankings. In the 2023 edition of the QS ranking, the university ranked 701-750 and continues to be among the 100 in Latin America, while in 2020 it was ranked the second best private university in the country in teaching, the third best private university in research at national level and the third best private university in Bogotá, according to The Latin America University Ranking. In 2022 it achieved third place at national level according to icfes. Its headquarters are located in the municipality of Chía, Cundinamarca and has a large and modern campus. Its student population is 12,158 and usually ranges between 11,500 and 12,500 students, of which approximately 9,000 are undergraduate students, 50 are doctoral students, 1,500 are master's students, 1,400 are specialization students and 230 are medical-surgical specialties. It is made up of 14 academic units divided into 8 faculties, one school, three institutes and two special units that offer 24 undergraduate programs. In postgraduate programs, it offers 10 doctoral programs, 49 specializations, 18 medical-surgical specialties and 37 master's degrees, for a total of 129 active programs. The university's teaching staff totals 2,140 professors (2019). The teaching staff consists of 463 professors, of whom 35% have doctorates, 53% master's degrees, 4% specialization and 8% undergraduate-professional degrees. There are 1,502 professors. Octavio Arizmendi Posada (1979-1989), Rafael González Cagigas (1989-1995), Álvaro Mendoza Ramírez (1995-2005) and Obdulio Velásquez Posada (2005-2020) have been its rectors. In 2020, Dr. Rolando Roncancio Rachid was appointed rector, the first graduate of the university to hold this position.

The Hipódromo De Los Andes is a horse racing track located in the north of Bogota, Colombia. It has a capacity for 20,000 people for concerts. Nowadays, it is used only for events. Daddy Yankee and Don Omar are some of the singers that have performed in there. Mana is scheduled to perform in the venue on March 3, 2012.

Cota is a municipality and town of Colombia in the Central Savanna Province of the department of Cundinamarca. Cota is part of the metropolitan area of Colombian capital Bogotá which centre is 26 kilometres (16 mi) away. The urban centre of Cota is located at an altitude of 2,566 metres (8,419 ft) and the municipality borders Chía in the north, Funza in the south, Suba, part of Bogotá in the east and Tenjo in the west.
