Bordeaux-Saint-Jean station

Gare Saint-Jean station is located on lines C and D of the Bordeaux tramway network. The station served as the terminus of the line C until 27 February 2008 when it was expanded to station Pyrénées (in Villenave-d'Ornon).

The Conservatoire de Bordeaux is an arts conservatory that offers higher education in music, dance and drama in Bordeaux, France. It is one of the leading schools in France for singers and saxophonists. Founded in 1821, the school is operated by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Church of the Holy Cross (French: Église Sainte-Croix) is a Roman Catholic church located in Bordeaux, southern France.It was formerly the church of a Benedictine abbey founded in the 7th century, and was built in the late 11th-early 12th centuries. The façade is in the Romanesque architectural style. The church has a nave and four aisles, a transept with apses on each arm, and a polygonal apse. The nave is 39 m long, while the apse is 15.30 m high. Its organ dates from the 18th century. In the 19th century, the church was renovated by Paul Abadie. The former Benedictine abbey now houses the École des beaux-arts de Bordeaux.

Terres Neuves tram stop is a tram stop on line C of the Tramway de Bordeaux. It is located near Boulevard Jean-Jacques Bosc in the commune of Bègles. The stop opened on 27 February 2008, when Line C was extended south from Gare Saint-Jean, and was the southern terminus of Line C until a further extension to Lycée Vaclav Havel opened in March 2015. The stop is operated by Transports Bordeaux Métropole.For most of the day on Mondays to Fridays, trams run at least every five minutes in both directions. Services run less frequently in the early morning, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

The Basilica of St Michael (Basilique Saint-Michel, in French), is a Flamboyant Gothic church in Bordeaux, France. In 1998, UNESCO designated the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France as a World Heritage Site, including the three main churches of Bordeaux : the basilica of St Severinus, the basilica of St Michael and the cathedral of St Andrew.

Bordeaux-État or Bordeaux-Deschamps was a mainline railway station in the French city of Bordeaux. The station was at the terminus of the line from Paris of the CF de l'État. The station opened late on 1 August 1896 after years of building a line to compete with the PO's line also from Paris. On 1 August 1893, the last portion of the main line was opened and État trains were permitted to use the Midi's Gare de Bordeaux Saint-Jean station. Three years later, the 2 km long branch to Bordeaux-État was opened as well as the station. Only a small number of trains ever used the station as most were routed to Saint-Jean to allow passengers to use connecting services.Bordeaux-État was closed at the creation of the SNCF and all services were rerouted to Saint-Jean. The station was situated near the Pont de Pierre and was subsequently converted into a cinema and restaurants.

German submarine U-188 was a Type IXC/40 U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine built for service during World War II. Laid down on 18 August 1941 by Deutsche Schiff- und Maschinenbau AG (DeSchiMAG) of Bremen as yard number 1028, she was launched on 31 March 1942 and commissioned on 5 August under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Siegfried Lüdden. The boat carried out three patrols and she was a member of three wolfpacks. She sank eight ships and one warship; she also damaged one ship. She was scuttled at Bordeaux, France on 25 August 1944. The wreck was broken up in 1947.
