Hareskoven

Værløse Station is a commuter railway station serving the town of Værløse in Furesø municipality. It is located on the Farum radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Værløse was a municipality (Danish, kommune) consisting of only one parish also named Værløse in the former Copenhagen County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 34 km2, and in 2005 had a total population of 18,649. Its last mayor was Jesper Bach, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. He was the first mayor of the newly formed Furesø municipality. The community is connected by a road and a motorway and commuter railway to Farum to the north via an isthmus at Fiskebæk between Lake Farum sø and Lake Furesø. The road and motorway run through a small forest on the western shore of Lake Furesø and is almost out of sight and hearing distance from nearby homes in Værløse, but north of the isthmus they run through the town of Farum, separating it in a western and eastern part. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Værløse. Other towns in the former municipality are Hareskovby, Kirke Værløse, and Jonstrup. Neighboring municipalities were Farum to the north, Stenløse to the west, Ballerup and Herlev to the south, and Gladsaxe, Lyngby-Taarbæk and Søllerød to the east, albeit the last of these is separated physically from the municipality by the waters of Lake Furesø. On January 1, 2007, Værløse municipality ceased to exist, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007). It merged with Farum municipality to form the new Furesø municipality, of which Lake Furesø is the namesake. This created a municipality with an area of 57 km2 and a total population of 37,311 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Hovedstaden ("Copenhagen Capital Region").

Furesø Municipality (Danish: Furesø Kommune) is a municipality (Danish: kommune) in Denmark. It has a population of 42,077 (1. January 2023) and a total area of 55.68 km² (21.50 sq.mi.) with water and forest making up around 10 and 15 km2, respectively. The municipality belongs to the Copenhagen Capital Region and lies 20 km northwest of Copenhagen. Its mayor is Ole Bondo Christensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. It is a municipality with much forest and access to several lakes, of which it is named after the largest, Furesøen, which has a popular beach with rest rooms, a small candy/ice shop and in addition sportsboat (competition) clubs and a restaurant open all year.

Hareskovby, or Hareskov By, is a small suburb to Copenhagen, Denmark, located just south and west of Hareskoven, one of the largest forested areas in the city's northern suburbs. It straddles the border between Furesø and Herlev municipalities and the contiguously built-up area extends into Gladsaxe and Ballerup municipalities, though these areas are not called Hareskov or Hareskovby.

Ballerup is a Danish town, seat of the Ballerup Municipality, in the Region Hovedstaden. There are approximately 25 schools in Ballerup Municipality. Ballerup has its own educational institution specialized in the study, training and research of music. It is twinned with East Kilbride in Scotland.

Sømosen is a bog straddling the border between Ballerup (95%) and Herlev (5%) municipalities in the northwestern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It formed some time between 8,000 and 13,000 BC. The water from the bog drains into Harrestrup Å to the south through Sømose Å. It was protected in 1951. The protected area was increased from 20 to 23 hectares in 2006.

Ballerup Kommune (Danish: [ˈpɛˀləʁop kʰoˈmuːnə]) is a municipality (Danish: kommune) in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. It is located approximately 15 kilometers from central Copenhagen. The municipality covers an area of 34.09 km², and has a population of 50,039 (1. January 2023). It is also the name of the municipal seat, Ballerup.

DTU Diplom, formerly known as Copenhagen University College of Engineering (Danish: Ingeniørhøjskolen i København), is the largest of its kind in Denmark. Since it was founded in 1881, the university college greatly expanded its programmes and facilities. It is situated in attractive surroundings in Ballerup 15 km from the centre of Copenhagen and commands 42.000 m2 of functional and beautiful buildings designed by PLH Architects. The Copenhagen University College of Engineering offers: Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Production engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT Engineering and finally Export Engineering. Some of the programmes are taught completely in English. The programmes are fixed at 3½ years, including a six-month traineeship in a Danish or foreign company, except the programme in export engineering which takes 4½ years, also including a six-month traineeship in a Danish or foreign company. The university college offers bachelor-level post-graduate courses through the Department of Higher Education. Finally, the university college has an admission course for those who wish to attend engineering studies. The course is an introduction to engineering aimed at those with vocational education.

The Jonstrup Camp (Danish: Jonstruplejren) is a military installation in Ballerup Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is home to the Royal Danish Air Force Officers School, Royal Danish Airforce Library and Forsvarets rekrutering.

The Royal Danish Air Force Academy (Danish: Flyvevåbnets Officersskole) educates and commissions all officers for the Royal Danish Air Force. The Air Force Officer Academy function was initiated in 1951 by the creation of the Royal Danish Air Force.
