Sømosen is a bog straddling the border between Ballerup (95%) and Herlev (5%) municipalities in the northwestern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It formed some time between 8,000 and 13,000 BC. The water from the bog drains into Harrestrup Å to the south through Sømose Å. It was protected in 1951. The protected area was increased from 20 to 23 hectares in 2006.

The Danish Bibliographic Centre (DBC A/S), based in Ballerup, Denmark, produces and supplies bibliographic data and information services — for example, the Danish DK5 system (DK5 Decimalklassedeling) derived from the Dewey Decimal Classification — to Danish libraries. Herlev Idrætsforening – Fodbold is a Danish football club located in the northwestern Copenhagen suburb, Herlev. The club's senior team participates in the Denmark Series and is member of the local association DBU Zealand under the Danish Football Association (DBU). Their home ground is Herlev Stadium. The football team functions as a subdivision of the multi-sports club Herlev Idrætsforening (HI), since 1949 HI has been an umbrella organisation for almost all sports clubs in Herlev Municipality. The sports club has over 600 members.

Herlev is a suburb about 11 km northwest of Copenhagen city centre, bordering Rødovre to the south, Ballerup to the west and Gladsaxe to the north. It is the site of the municipal council of Herlev Municipality, Denmark.

Ballerup Super Arena (formerly Siemens Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena, in Ballerup, Denmark. The velodrome has a seated capacity of 6,500. During concerts, the arena can accommodate an audience of up to 9,200. It is owned by Ballerup Municipality. The arena is also a venue for many company events, conferences, team building events, trade fairs, company sports events and cycling events. The arena was opened in 2001. In 2003, the roof collapsed, as a result of a miscalculation in design and the new roof was reinforced with cables. It's the only international indoor velodrome in the Nordic countries.

Ballerup Kommune (Danish: [ˈpɛˀləʁop kʰoˈmuːnə]) is a municipality (Danish: kommune) in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. It is located approximately 15 kilometers from central Copenhagen. The municipality covers an area of 34.09 km², and has a population of 50,039 (1. January 2023). It is also the name of the municipal seat, Ballerup.

Ejby is a suburb in greater Copenhagen in Glostrup Municipality, lying between Glostrup and Skovlunde. The municipality had a population of 22,357 as of 2015. It is located about 13 km (8.1 mi) from the city center of Copenhagen. Ejby will have a station on the Greater Copenhagen Light Rail line which is due to open in 2025.
