Henry B. Bissell House

Bantam is a borough in Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 759 at the 2010 census. While separated for census and historic reasons, Bantam is governed as an integral part of the town of Litchfield. Bantam is the 2nd least populous borough in Connecticut, only beaten by Fenwick. On July 10, 1989, many of the buildings in Bantam were heavily damaged by a tornado that ripped through Litchfield and New Haven Counties. The storm also caused considerable damage to the Litchfield County town of Thomaston, and to the New Haven County towns of Waterbury, Hamden and North Haven.

Wamogo Regional High School is a public school in Litchfield, Connecticut. It serves grades 9 through 12. It is the public high school for the surrounding towns of Morris, Warren, and Goshen. Additionally, students from the towns of Litchfield, Torrington, Terryville, Plymouth, Harwinton, Burlington, and Thomaston can attend if they apply to the Agriculture Education Program for high school students only. Wamogo Regional Middle School is located in the same facility and serves grades 6 through 8.Wamogo was founded in the 1950s. Its name is a portmanteau stemming from the towns Warren, Morris, and Goshen, where the 'Wa' is for Warren, the 'mo' is for Morris, and the 'go' is for Goshen. Notable people who have attended Wamogo include former NBA star Chuck Aleksinas and flat track motorcycle racer Kenny Coolbeth.

The White Memorial Conservation Center is a natural history museum and nature center in Litchfield, Connecticut, United States, supported by the White Memorial Foundation. The museum is currently housed in Whitehall, the former residence of White Memorial Foundation founders Alain and May White.

The White Memorial Foundation is an organization dedicated to environmental conservation located in Litchfield, Connecticut. The Foundation owns approximately 4,000 acres of wetlands and uplands, including recreational trails, two camping areas, and a conservation center dedicated to education, research, conservation, and recreation.

Litchfield High School is a high school in Litchfield, Connecticut, United States. It is a part of Litchfield Public Schools. Litchfield High currently enrolls students from Bantam, Northfield, East Litchfield, and Litchfield. The school gym, designed by Marcel Breuer, is currently featured on the Smithsonian's website for its unique architecture.

Bantam Lake is the largest natural lake in Connecticut, covering 947 acres (383 ha) in the towns of Morris and Litchfield. Much of the land at the northern end of the lake, including the peninsula of Marsh Point, is protected by the White Memorial Foundation and home to a wide array of bird species. It is lined by campgrounds, camps for kids and has facilities for various water sports. The lake also has two public beaches, Morris Town Beach and Sandy Beach.It is home to the Bantam Lake Ski Club, the oldest, continuously operating water ski club in the United States, as well as the Litchfield Hills Rowing Club which offers Summer and Fall (high school) and Masters programs.

The Western Connecticut Highlands AVA is an American Viticultural Area that includes all of Litchfield and parts of Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties in Connecticut. The Connecticut Highlands are far enough away from Long Island Sound that there is little of the moderating effect on climate that large bodies of water produce. The region is relatively cool, with a short growing season between mid-May and mid-September. The soil in the area is glacial schist and gneiss. Local vintners have had the most success with cool climate Vitis vinifera and French hybrid grape varieties. The region is located in hardiness zones 5b and 6a.

The Eastern Connecticut Highlands AVA is an American Viticultural Area established on October 11, 2019, in Connecticut. It is located in Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland, and Windham counties. The area is one of rolling hills with elevations of 200 to 1,000 feet. There are pronounced ridgelines to the east and west with higher elevations. The region is relatively cool, with a short growing season between mid-May and mid-September. Its climate is similar to the Finger Lakes region of New York, The soil in the area is composed of glacial till. Local vintners have had the most success with cool climate Vitis vinifera and French hybrid grape varieties. The region is located in hardiness zones 6a to 7a. Sharpe Hill Vineyard in Pomfret is the largest and oldest winery in the AVA. The vineyard petitioned the TTB to lobby for the establishment of the AVA.

The David Welch House is a historic house at Potash and Milton Streets in Milton village of Litchfield, Connecticut. Built in 1756 by one of the first colonial settlers of the area, it is one of the village's oldest buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Trinity Church is a historic church at 536 Milton Road in the Milton section of Litchfield, Connecticut. Built beginning in 1802, it is a distinctive blend of Gothic and Classical Revival architecture that is rare in rural Connecticut. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Rye House is a historic summer estate property at 122-132 Old Mount Tom Road in Litchfield, Connecticut. Developed in 1910 for a wealthy New York City widow, it is a prominent local example of Tudor Revival architecture, and a major example of the trend of country estate development in the region. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Litchfield Historic District, in Litchfield, Connecticut, is a National Historic Landmark District designated in 1968 as a notable and well-preserved example of a typical late 18th century New England village. As a National Historic Landmark, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It is the core area of a larger NRHP-listed historic district that includes the entire borough of Litchfield and was designated a state historic district in 1959.: 72 This residential district is anchored by the Litchfield meetinghouse (1829) and is predominantly Georgian with clapboarding, gables and hipped roofs.
