Elmont is an unincorporated hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in northwestern Hempstead in Nassau County, New York, United States, along its border with the borough of Queens in New York City. The population was 35,265 at the 2020 census.The hamlet is famous for Belmont Park which hosts the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the prestigious Triple Crown of thoroughbred racing. Elmont is also home to UBS Arena, home of the NHL's New York Islanders. Elmont has tried incorporating itself as a village multiple times over the years, but has been unable to successfully do so.

The St. Paul's German Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is a historic place in Elmont, New York. It was nominated for listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.It is one of few buildings that remains from the area's longstanding German community.: 7 

Elmont Memorial Junior-Senior High School (EMHS) is a co-educational, public high school founded in 1956 for students in grades 7–12 in the hamlet of Elmont, Long Island, New York, in Nassau County, United States. The school is one of five secondary schools of the Sewanhaka Central High School District. Its street address is 555 Ridge Road, Elmont, New York 11003. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,640 students and 109.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.0:1. There were 620 students (37.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 153 (9.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Its school newspaper is known as the " Elmont Phoenix". Elmont High School's mascot is the Spartan. Its school colors are green and white. The school's current principal is Kevin Dougherty. Elmont High School is part of the Sewanhaka Central High School District.

Floral Park Memorial High School is a coeducational, public high school in Floral Park, New York, United States. It is one of five schools in the Sewanhaka Central High School District. The high school enrolls students in grades 7 through 12. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,389 students and 94.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.8:1. There were 253 students (18.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 38 (2.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

North Valley Stream is a census-designated place (CDP) in the village of Valley Stream in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 16,628 at the 2010 census. North Valley Stream is part of the Town of Hempstead

Masjid Hamza is a mosque and Islamic community center located at 200 Stuart Avenue, Valley Stream, New York. It has a K–6 school system called "Hamza Academy", and has one of the big mosques in Valley Stream. The masjid is located fifteen minutes away from John F. Kennedy International Airport and serves about 1,400 families. The masjid currently offers use of the masjid for the five daily prayers, adult and children's Quran classes, and Taraweeh in the month of Ramadan. The masjid originally started as a 2 bedroom house, but as a result of the growing Muslim community in Valley Stream, expanded to a bigger building in 2007. In the 2015 annual fundraiser, the masjid announced plans for expansions, which they did by purchasing 3 adjacent properties The founding brothers of this mosque are Jawaid A. Minhas, Iqbal Motiwala, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed and several others.

Belmont Park Village is an open-air outlet center on the grounds of Belmont Park thoroughbred horse racetrack in Elmont, New York, just east of New York City limits. It is located on the south side of Hempstead Turnpike (Route 24), next the Cross Island Parkway and opposite UBS Arena. Belmont Park Village is owned by Value Retail, the same developer of Bicester Village in Oxfordshire, England. Upon completion, the outlet center will contain over 150 stores. Boutiques include AllSaints, Aquazzura, Boss, Charles Tyrwhitt, Canali, Coach, Fusalp, Frame, Gianvito Rossi, Jacob Cohën, John Varvatos, Kiton, Kurt Geiger, Lacoste, Levi's, L’Occitane, Longchamp, Lululemon, Missoni, Neuhaus, Orlebar Brown, Paige, Peserico, rag & bone, Rains, Rene Caovilla, Roberto Cavalli, Samsonite, Solaris, Sunglass Hut, Swarovski, Thom Browne, North Face, Trina Turk, Tumi, Valentino, TWP, Vivienne Westwood. The soft opening for the outlet center was on October 16, 2024. Hundredfold, a restaurant by chef Timothy Hollingsworth, opened at Belmont Park Village in July 2025. Parking is available in Belmont Park Garage, a six-level structure containing 1,450 spaces, which is located at the north entrance to the outlet center and shared with UBS Arena. Shuttle buses also operate between Belmont Park Village and the Elmont–UBS Arena station on the Long Island Rail Road.

The New York Cosmos Stadium was a proposed 25,000-seat soccer-specific stadium and multipurpose facility. It was to be located in the New York metropolitan area in Nassau County, just over the city border. Plans were submitted to New York's Empire State Development Corporation. Upon completion, it would have been the home stadium of the New York Cosmos. The plan was abandoned in 2016.

The Belmont Park aviation meet was an international aerial show that took place in 1910. The Belmont Racetrack in Elmont, New York, United States, was the site of the aviation meet. The event took place over nine days and featured aerial races, and contests involving duration, distance, speed and altitude.
