Mejlgade is a street in Aarhus which runs north to south from Østbanetorvet to Skolegade and intersects Nørrebrogade. The street is situated in the historic Latin Quarter neighborhood and has the highest number of historic and listed buildings in the city. Mejlgade is one-way and no-parking zone for cars for most of its length and pedestrians and cyclists are given priority. The single lane is tiled and a part of the Cykelringen bicycle ring which circumnavigates the city center. Mejlgade has a high number of small specialty shops and some cafés and bars.

Jutland Art Academy (Danish: Det Jyske Kunstakademi, abbreviated DJK), is a state recognized institute for higher education in Aarhus, Denmark, offering a 5-year programme in contemporary art. The academy has no departments and focuses on conceptually driven practices and transdisciplinary work. The academy has about 50 students. The school is located in the street of Mejlgade in the Latin Quarter of Aarhus. Other recognized Art Academies in Denmark comprise the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, and Funen Art Academy in Odense. There are other institutions which also use the name 'art academy', but none of these are state recognized as institutions of higher education.

The Aarhus School of Architecture (Arkitektskolen Aarhus) was founded in 1965 in Aarhus, Denmark. Along with the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen, it is responsible for the education of architects in Denmark. The school has approximately 750 students.

St. Oluf Cemetery (Danish: Sankt Olufs Kirkegård) is a small public park and historic site in central Aarhus, Denmark. The park is situated by the coast in the city center of Midtbyen, in the Latin Quarter, bounded by the streets of Kystvejen and St. Olufs Stræde, overlooking the Docklands and the Bay of Aarhus in the East. It is one of only two green spaces in the historic inner city, the other one being Frue Kirkeplads at the Church of Our Lady, but is one of five protected scheduled monuments.St. Oluf Cemetery is a decommissioned graveyard turned into a municipal green space, managed by the Nature and Environment department (Danish: Natur og Miljø) of Aarhus Municipality. The park is named after the St. Oluf Church that used to be here, itself named after the Norwegian king and saint Olaf II.St. Oluf Cemetery functions as a recreational area for locals. The cemetery has not been in use since the early 19th century, but 11 graves from the 17th and 18th centuries are still maintained in the northern section. The park is decorated with trees, bushes and crocus and the outline of the former St. Oluf Church is marked in the grassy area, with ceramic plates of red sandstone.

Juul's House is a house and a listed building in Aarhus, Denmark. The house was built in 1629 and was listed on the national Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 1 April 1984. The building is one of the oldest in the city and it is situated in the historical Latin Quarter on Mejlgade. It has been a paint shop since 1842 and it is the oldest paint shop in the country.

Studsgade is a street in Aarhus which runs north to south from Nørreport to Klostergade and Graven. The street is situated in the historic Latin Quarter neighborhood and is home to four listed buildings. The street has existed since at least the 1400s, when it was known as Sturisgade and Stus Gaden, probably for councillor Jep Sture, who had a house there. It was officially given its current name in 1796.In the middle of Studsgade lies the small square Rykind from where the narrow alley Snævringen leads to Mejlgade.

The 1944 explosion in Aarhus or the 4th of July Disaster (Danish: 4 Juli Katastrofen) was an explosion in the city of Aarhus, Denmark when a barge loaded with ammunition exploded in the harbor, killing 39 people and injuring another 250. The explosion occurred in conjunction with the occupation of Denmark during the Second World War. Aarhus had become an increasingly important transport hub for German supplies and troops to occupied Norway, by virtue of a large port in the Kattegat and a railway connection to Germany. Supplies arrived by rail from Germany and was loaded from rail cars to barges in the harbor by Danish dock workers, often by hand. Officials from the Aarhus municipal government had prior to 4 July approached German authorities with safety concerns since accidents with ammunition had previously occurred in Norway; specifically the 1943 Filipstad explosion and the 1944 explosion in Bergen. Discussions were underway about the possibility to move transhipment to a less populated area but by July 1944 no decision had yet been made.

Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering (Danish: Aarhus Maskinmesterskole or AAMS) is a school of higher education in Aarhus, Denmark. The school is a self owning institution and offers bachelor's degree in marine and technical engineering - with electives such as marine engineering and automation, energy and technology.In the summer of 2014, the school took residence in the new Navitas building at Aarhus Docklands and initiated a cooperative programme with Business Academy Aarhus, offering Academy Profession Degrees in Automotive Technology (Danish: autoteknolog) and Automation Engineering (Danish: automationsteknolog). The Navitas building also includes a department of INCUBA Science Park and AU Engineering.Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering is subordinated the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. In 1968 it became a self-owning institution with an independent board of directors which includes representatives of the student body and faculty and it is now the largest school of marine and technical engineering in Denmark, with app. 1.000 students as of 2016.

Graven is a street in Aarhus, Denmark. Graven was created some time before year 1500 on and in the northernmost moat used to defend the early Viking settlement. It is one of the oldest streets in the city and used to mark the northern city limits along with Klostergade. Graven runs 220 meter west to east from Klostergade to Mejlgade and is situated in the historic Latin Quarter neighborhood. Graven is fairly narrow and is a designated one-way street for motorized traffic in the direction of Mejlgade towards Klostergade. Graven is characterized by low housing, cafés and speciality shops, and has much foot and bicycle traffic. As Klostergade and Mejlgade, Graven is a shared bikeway, part of the city's bicycle infrastructure network.

Ryesgade is a 240-meter-long street in Aarhus, Denmark. It is located in the central Town Center neighborhood and runs south to north from Banegårdspladsen to Søndergade and provides access to Rosenkrantzgade. Ryesgade is today one the busiest commercial pedestrianized streets in Denmark. It was created in 1873 as an extension to Søndergade to connect the Central Station to the rest of the inner city. Ryesgade is one of several streets in Denmark named for the Danish general Olaf Rye who became famous for his exploits during the First Schleswig War.Ryesgade is part of the 750 meters long pedestrian zone Strøget which runs from Aarhus Central Station to Aarhus Cathedral, consisting of the streets Søndergade, St. Clemens Street and Ryesgade. Strøget has about 47,000 visitors each day and some 14 million visitors annually, placing it among the busiest commercial streets in Denmark.

Nørre Stenbro is a small neighborhood in the city of Aarhus, Denmark home to some 3,000 residents. The neighborhood is part of the Aarhus C district and borders the neighborhoods of Indre By south and west, Aarhus Docklands in the east and Trøjborg north. The residential area of Nørre Stenbro is delimited by the streets Nørre Boulevard, Østboulevarden, Østbanetorvet, Kystvejen, Nørreport and Nørrebrogade, but the large Nordre Cemetery and the smaller residential quarter of Skovvejskvarteret is also part of the same registration.The School of Architecture and the train station Østbanetorvet station, part of Aarhus light rail line, are both located at Nørre Stenbro.

Navitas (or Navitas Park) is a building in the city of Aarhus, Denmark, located in the Docklands neighborhood in the Midtbyen district. Navitas is owned by the research park INCUBA Science Park, the Aarhus University School of Engineering and the Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering. The three institutions together operate a consortium that maintains the facilities and together they inhabit the building.
