Hotel Sansone, also known as the Hotel Springfield and Hotel Sterling, is a historic hotel building located in Springfield, Missouri, United States. Built in 1911, it is a four-story American Craftsman style brick building. It measures 44 feet wide by 110 feet deep. It features a stepped parapet, beneath which is set a shallow overhanging hip roof sheathed with green Spanish tiles, and supported by heavy carved wooden brackets.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Landers Theatre in Springfield, Missouri, built in 1909, is the second oldest and largest civic theater operation in Missouri. It has been in continuous use either as a legitimate theatre or a movie theater since it opened. In 1928, the theater became the 35th facility in the world to acquire sound film. It was designed by architects Carl Boller and Brother in association with Hickenlively and Mark of Springfield in a French-influenced neoclassical style. It is located in the Walnut Street Commercial Historic District. The theater is unusual in its use of wood for nearly all structural framing, in contrast with the steel and cast iron more usually employed in its time. D.J. Landers, the original owner, was in the lumber business, providing a possible explanation. Where steel is employed, it uses unusual bonded steel and masonry assemblies. The theater was designed for live performance, with a large stage and supporting spaces.The theater's street facade employs Missouri limestone piers with terra cotta cornices, cartouches, quoins and parapets. Infill between these decorative elements is brick.A fire in 1920 completely gutted the stage area, but the remainder was saved by the fireproof asbestos curtain. Subsequent renovations moved the orchestra pit behind the curtain and raised the boxes. Heavy clear-span beams replaced columns supporting the balconies, and the Jim Crow-era ticket booth for "coloreds" and its separate entrance were removed.From March 17–September 22, 1961, NBC-TV carried a live country music variety program from the theater, Five Star Jubilee, on Friday nights; the first network color television series to originate outside of New York City or Hollywood. First-run films continued to be shown on the other six nights of the week.Landers was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, significant for the preserved Baroque Renaissance, Napoleon architectural style. A number of major restoration projects have been undertaken, and the most recent restorations have been cited with awards from the American Institute of Architects. It is currently the home of the Springfield Little Theatre.

Walnut Street Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. The district encompasses seven contributing buildings in a commercial section of Springfield. The district developed between about 1895 and 1949, and includes representative examples of Italianate and Colonial Revival style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Landers Theater. Other notable buildings include the Masonic Temple (1906).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Pacific International University was an unaccredited, evangelical, Christian diploma mill college located in Springfield, Missouri. Carl Baugh, a 1989 alumnus, was the university's president.

The Woodruff Building is a historic high-rise located in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. Built in February of 1911, it is often called Springfield's first "skyscraper". Originally a commercial style design with hints of early art-deco, a 1959 remodel gave the building turquoise enamel panels with a mid-century look. It houses ten stories. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Holland Building, also known as the Mrs. Clifford L. Jarrett Building, is a historic commercial building located in Springfield, Missouri, United States. Built in 1914, it is a five-story, rectangular commercial building sheathed in marble, blond brick, and cream-colored glazed terra cotta. It features a heavy bracketed cornice of glazed terra cotta.: 5–6  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

McDaniel Building is a historic commercial building located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. It was built in 1961, and is houses six-story with a Mid-Century Modern style of building, containing a two-story main section, two-bay section and a tall one-story rear section. It has buff brick walls, a curtain wall façade, and a flat roof.: 6 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Gillioz Theatre is a historic theater located at Springfield, Missouri, United States. It was built by M. E. Gillioz of Monett, Missouri. Mr. Gillioz was in the business of building bridges, and the theater was built with steel and concrete. Wood was only used for handrails, doors, and doorframes. The original cost of the building was $300,000. Renovation costs totaled approximately $1.9 million.The theater opened on October 11, 1926. Gillioz managed to secure a 100-year lease on one 16-foot (4.9 m) wide piece of property which bordered on U.S. Route 66, so that the theater could garner patrons who traveled on that historic highway. After many prosperous years, and many not-so-prosperous years, the "Gillioz, Theatre Beautiful" finally offered its last show in the summer of 1980, an opera.The theater was originally a transition theater, with a Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ for silent movies and a stage for live performances, such as vaudeville acts. The pipe organ was Wurlitzer's opus 1411 Style D. The organ had 2 manuals and 6 ranks of pipes, 4 tuned percussions, 6 traps, and 9 sound effects. The organ was sold in 1980 when the theatre closed and is currently in private hands. A sound system was installed in 1928 with the advent of talkies.The theatre is mainly a concert venue. It hosts a variety of entertainment such as Dave Chappelle, Elvis Costello, George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, Kacey Musgraves, Billy Ray Cyrus and many more. Capacity for general admission is 1,300 and for reserved seating there is 1,015. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. It is located in the Springfield Public Square Historic District.

College Apartments, also known as the Park Central Apartments, is a historic apartment building located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. It was originally constructed in 1910 as an expansion to Springfield Business College, and expanded and converted to apartments in 1928. It is a three-story, Commercial Block brick building with Classical details. The building features a flat parapet capped with flat limestone block and three brick pilasters with limestone capitals and plinths.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Marquette Hotel, also known as the Springfield Business College and Hotel State, is a historic hotel building located in Springfield, Missouri, United States. Built about 1906, it is a three-story, brick commercial building. It has a recessed entrance. It originally housed a business college, then converted to a hotel in 1918. It continued as a hotel until the mid-1980s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Discovery Center of Springfield (DCS) in Springfield, Missouri, is an interactive, hands-on science center dedicated to inspiring curiosity and a life-long love of learning through memorable and engaging hands-on experiences in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) In December of 2021, inaugural grand prize winner of the Center for Education Reform and media partner Forbes STOP Award. The Wall Street Journal editorial board wrote about the museum that became a school winning the $1 million award. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020, the Discovery Center remained open and delivered on their mission by providing emergency, licensed childcare for the families of healthcare workers and first responders. DCS provided over 200,000 hours of free childcare and over 50,000 free meals and snacks. Its history goes back to the late 1980s when a group of community volunteers led by the junior league of Springfield began a feasibility study for a children's hands-on museum project for Springfield and the Ozark region. In 1991 Discovery Center of Springfield was incorporated. Over the next six years the volunteer board of directors and other committed community volunteers planned the building purchase and renovation, exhibits and program development and business operation. Since its opening in January 1998, the DCS has developed and added a great number of programs and exhibits. Collaboration has been the key to the success of this regional facility. Likewise, it is critical that the DCS partners with other agencies, individuals, foundations and businesses to achieve their respective goals. The DCS has established itself as a leader in the region of unique and engaging educational experiences. In 2000, they completed a master plan process and determined it was time to begin planning for expansion. In September 2006 DCS opened a new 30,000 sq. ft. building expansion with additional exhibits.

Keet-McElhany House is a historic home located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. It was built in 1881, and enlarged in 1886, and remodeled in 1900. It is a two-story, brick dwelling with a frame attic and reflects Italianate and Queen Anne style design elements. It features a multi-hipped and gable roof, porch with a projecting gable, and round corner tower.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
