Liteyny Avenue

Apartment Museum of Joseph Brodsky (Russian: Музей-квартира И. А. Бродского) is an informal memorial museum, created in 2006 on behalf of the governor of St. Petersburg, in order to preserve the memory of the cultural and literary period 1960-1990, the central figure of which is the poet and Nobel laureate, Joseph Brodsky. The concept of the future exposition deals Anna Akhmatova Museum. The apartment is in the Muruzi House. The museum formally does no operate because the founders of the museum failed to acquire the whole apartment, therefore it is still in the status of a residential unit.

St. Petersburg Institute of International Economic Relations, Economics and Law (IIEREL) - IVESEP (Russian: Институ́т внешнеэкономи́ческих свя́зей, эконо́мики и пра́ва, ИВЭСЭ́П) is an independent institution of higher education in St. Petersburg, Russia. Established in 1994 by the interregional public organization “ZNANIE Society in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast”.

Mokhovaya Street is a street in the city of Saint Petersburg, Russia. The avenue runs from the Chaykovskogo Street to Belinskogo Street for approximately 920 m. The street has high socio-cultural value due to numerous historical buildings and monuments of the 18th-20th centuries.

The State Dramatic Theatre on Liteyny Avenue (Государственный драматический Театр на Литейном) is a theatre at 51 Liteyny Avenue, Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was founded in 1909. Konstantin Tverskoy worked at the Liteinyi Theatre as director, Savely Schleifer (1881–1943) as designer. The Narodnaia Komedia (January 1920) took up Meyerhold's experiments from the Liteyni and Hermitage Theatre. The theatre produced many unusual offerings. In 1909 the Japanese play Terakoya was presented. Boris Romanov (1891-1957) choreographed the cabaret The Goatlegged, and Arkady Averchenko contributed sketches and vaudevilles.In 1993 the Liteinyi's theatre troupe toured America with a production of George Bernard Shaw's Great Catherine in Russian.

Transfiguration Cathedral (official name: Russian: собор Преображения Господня всей гвардии, The Cathedral of the Lord's Transfiguration of all the Guards) is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral. It is located on Transfiguration Square (Russian: Преображенская площадь), just off Liteyny Prospekt near the Chernyshevskaya metro station. Unlike most Russian churches, it has never ceased operating as a place of worship.The church has given names to both Transfiguration Square and a nearby lane, which was formerly known as Church Lane (Russian: Церковный переулок) and is now known as Radishchev Lane (Russian: переулок Радищева).

Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239 (Russian: Президентский физико-математический лицей №239), is a public high school in Saint Petersburg, Russia that specializes in mathematics and physics. The school opened in 1918 and it became a specialized city school in 1961. The school is noted for its strong academic programs. It is the alma mater of numerous winners of International Mathematical Olympiads and it has produced many notable alumni. The lyceum has been named the best school in Russia in 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Saint Anna German High School (Russian: Главное немецкое училище Святой Анны), usually known as Annenschule (Russian: Анненшуле), was a school in Saint Petersburg, Russia founded in 1736 for children of the German population of the city. In 1918, Annenschule became Soviet work school №11, and later school №203. Its alumni included well known people - ethnologist Nicholai Miklukho-Maklai, jeweler Peter Fabergé, philologist Faddei Zielinski, teacher and physician Peter Lesgaft, poet and Nobel Prize laureate Joseph Brodsky, actress Elena Granovsky, writer Igor Yefimov, and chess world championship pretendent Victor Korchnoi. In 1975 the famous city specialized high school №239 moved into the building.

The Fountain House is a palace in Russia built by the Sheremetev family, named after the nearby Fontanka river. Since its erection in 1712 the building was reconstructed several times by famous architects G. Dmitryev, Savva Chevakinsky, Fyodor Argunov, and Ivan Starov. It is also known as the Sheremetev Palace.

St. Anne's Church (Annenkirche in German; церковь Святой Анны in Russian) is a Lutheran church in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was built in 1775-1779 by Georg Friedrich Veldten for the German community in a Neoclassical style with Ionic columns. After the church was closed in 1935, architect Alexander Gegello had it transformed into a cinema (called Spartak). At the beginning of the 21st century a nightclub opened inside the building and it was damaged by a fire. The building was restored in 2012-2013 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria, its new owner. Every Sunday morning, there is a worship service in Russian, and during the school year there is a service in English. Several rooms in the building house exhibitions by modern painters.

The Third Section of His Imperial Majesty's Own Chancellery (Russian: Tretiye Otdeleniye, or III отделение собственной Е.И.В канцелярии III otdeleniye sobstvennoy E.I.V. kantselyarii - in full: Третье отделение Собственной Его Императорского Величества канцелярии Tretye otdeleniye Sobstvennoy Yego Yimperatorskogo Velichestva kantselyarii, sometimes translated as Third Department) was a secret-police department set up in Imperial Russia. Inheritor of the Tayny Prikaz, Privy Chancellery and Specialty Chancellery, it effectively served as the Imperial regime's secret police for much of its existence. The organization was relatively small. When founded in July 1826 by Emperor Nicholas I it included only sixteen investigators. Their number increased to forty in 1855. The Third Section disbanded in 1880, replaced by the Police Department and the Okhrana.

The U.S. Consulate General in St. Petersburg (Russian: Генеральное консульство США в Санкт-Петербурге) is a former diplomatic mission of the USA in Saint Petersburg, providing consular services to Russian and American citizens in Northwestern Russia. The consulate general ceased its operations on March 30, 2018, at the request of the Russian authorities.
