Rockwood Village is a neighbourhood in the eastern part of the City of Mississauga, Ontario, in the Regional Municipality of Peel. Its approximate boundaries are Eglinton Avenue in the north, Burnhamthorpe Road in the south, the Etobicoke Creek (the city limits of Mississauga) on the east and Dixie Road on the west. The Municipal Ward is Ward 3, the Provincial Riding is Mississauga—Brampton South (provincial electoral district) and the Federal Riding is Mississauga—Brampton South. The Burnhamthorpe branch of the Mississauga Library System is located at the southwest corner of Burnhamthorpe and Dixie Roads.

Silverthorn Collegiate Institute (SCI, Silverthorn) is a high school located in the west end of Toronto in Etobicoke, Ontario. It is under the sanction of the Toronto District School Board (the successor to the former Etobicoke Board of Education). The name comes from the Silverthorn Woods that borders to the south and the west. This was the northern limit of an old property known locally as the Silverthorn Mill Farm.

Markland Wood is a residential neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located west of the central core, in the former suburb of Etobicoke and is the westernmost residential community in Toronto along Bloor Street West. It's located on the border of Mississauga and bounded by Etobicoke Creek to the west, Elmcrest Creek to the east, Burnhamthorpe to the North, and surrounded by the Markland Wood Golf Club; approximately 2/3 is north of Bloor Street, and 1/3 south. Markland Wood is part of the Etobicoke Centre riding for federal and provincial governments and Ward 2 for the municipal council.

Dixie is a bus rapid transit station on the Mississauga Transitway in central Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the west side of Dixie Road along the north side of Eastgate Parkway. The first four stations on the Transitway at Central Parkway, Cawthra, Tomken and Dixie, opened on 17 November 2014.

Centennial Park Conservatory is a conservatory in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It consists of three greenhouses and 12,000 square feet (1,100 m2) of plants including a cactus house, a tropical house and a show house which features seasonal displays. It is located in Centennial Park, in the former City of Etobicoke. This conservatory is cared for by Toronto Parks who also run Allan Gardens. Admission is free.

Centennial Park Golf Centre is a 27-hole executive length golf course located in Southern Ontario on the border of Etobicoke and Mississauga. The facility also features a driving range, putting green, chipping green and an 18-hole mini-golf course. The golf course is privately owned but open to the public. They operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Their hours of operation are generally within 30 mins of sunrise and sunset, weather permitting. Although weather dictates the season, the course generally opens around the beginning of April and closes the beginning of December.

Applewood Heights Secondary School is a public secondary school in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and is part of the Peel District School Board. It offers a Specialist High Skills Major in sports, and a regional sports program.

Dixie GO Station is a GO Transit railway station on the Milton line in the Dixie neighbourhood of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 2445 Dixie Road, just south of Dundas Street East. Like most GO stations, Dixie offers parking facilities for commuters, and allows for wheelchair-accessible train services through a raised mini-platform giving access to the 5th carriage from the locomotive; it is one of the only three stations on the Milton Line (excluding Union Station) that offer the mini-platform. The station building houses a ticket sales agent and a waiting room. Although ridership is growing on the Milton line including at Dixie, GO cannot increase its services here at present because the line is shared with busy Canadian Pacific Railway freight trains. Frequent weekday GO buses serving the station help alleviate the demand. In order to increase capacity on the Milton line, GO plan to extend Dixie's platform to accommodate twelve-carriage trains once more powerful locomotives capable of pulling such trains have entered service in 2008.
