Los Molinos (Spanish for "The Mills") is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tehama County, California, United States. The population was 2,037 at the 2010 census, up from 1,952 at the 2000 census.

The Home of Mrs. John Brown is a Victorian house built in 1865 at 135 Main St., Red Bluff, in Tehama County, California. The home that Mrs. John Brown (1816–1884) lived in is a California Historical Landmark No. 117 listed on March 29, 1933. At the time Mrs. John Brown was the widow of famous abolitionist John Brown (1800–1859). John Brown was the leader of an anti-slavery raid on Harpers Ferry, Virginia in 1859. In Virginia v. John Brown he was found guilty and he was executed on December 2, 1859. Those that disliked slavery in America saw John Brown as hero and a martyr. Mrs. John Brown and her children Annie, Sarah, Ellen, and Salmon came to Red Bluff in the fall of 1864. Mary arrived poor and homeless; the community of Red Bluff helped her, and talked about getting her a house. The town had a meeting on April 17, 1865, to talk about what could be done. On June 5, 1865, a local request for donations was sent out in the newspaper. This news made Sacramento, where a public meeting was held on June 15, 1865. From this meeting the Governor of California at the time, Frederick Low, and the Reverend M. C. Briggs, a Methodist Pastor, became the head of the John Brown Cottage Fund. D. O. Mills founder of the D.O. Mills Bank was the treasurer of the fund. The state of California raised the funds for her house.The John Brown Cottage Fund raised $450 (equivalent to $8,603 in 2022) for the lot and new house. With funds the lot was purchased and the small house built. Mary lived in the Red Bluff house from 1866 to 1870. In Red Bluff she worked as both a nurse and midwife.Mrs. Brown lived in this house in Red Bluff until 1870 in a Oxen covered wagon. In 1870, Mrs. Brown and her children sold the house and moved to Rohnerville, California in Humboldt County. The home was later the house of Gus Schroder. The house was originally at southwest corner of Main and Willow Street and has been moved to its current spot a little south off the corner. There is no marker at the house.

Tehama (Wintun for "high water") is a city in Tehama County, California, United States. The population was 418 at the 2010 census, down from 432 at the 2000 census.

First Seat of Tehama County, First Tehama County Courthouse, is historical site in Tehama, California in Tehama County, California. The First Seat of Tehama County is a California Historical Landmark No. 183 listed on June 20, 1935. First Tehama County Courthouse was held in the a rented room inside the Union Hotel, later called the Heider House. Also meeting in the Union Hotel was the Tehama County's Board of Supervisors and other county officials. The Tehama County seat was in the Union Hotel from May 1856 to March 1857. In March 1857 the Tehama County seat moved to Red Bluff. The Heider House-Union Hotel was lost in a fire in 1908. The Heider House-Union Hotel was built on land what was part of the Robert Hasty Thomes (1817-1878) 22,212-acre Mexican land grant, Rancho Saucos.Tehama County was founded in 1856, with Tehama was the county seat. In 1860 the first courthouse, Tehama County Superior Court was built, a two-story building designed by B. C. Nusbaum and built by Virgil Baker.A California historical marker is at 225 2nd Street, Tehama. The historical marker at First Seat of Tehama County site was placed there by the California Department of Parks and Recreation working with the Pair-O-Dice Chapter #7-11 and Trinitarianus Chapter No.62 E Clampus Vitus in 1981.

Elder Creek is a major stream in Tehama County, California and a tributary of the Sacramento River. It originates at the confluence of its North, Middle and South Forks, which begin in the Mendocino National Forest, and flows 27 miles (43 km) east to its confluence with the Sacramento River about a mile (1.6 km) east of Gerber and 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Tehama. Measured to the head of its longest tributary, the South Fork, Elder Creek has a total length of 42 miles (68 km), draining a watershed of about 150 square miles (390 km2). Like the other streams draining this part of the western Sacramento Valley, Elder Creek is a highly seasonal stream that flows only during the winter and spring.Elder Creek was so named for the elder trees lining its course. A variant name was Arroyo de los Saucos.

Deer Creek is a 60-mile-long (97 km) southwestward-flowing stream in Northern California that flows through Tehama County, California. It is an eastside tributary of the Sacramento River. As one of only three remaining Sacramento River tributaries supporting native runs of the genetically distinct Central Valley spring-run Chinook salmon, it is a stronghold for this state and federally endangered fish as well as other salmonids.

The Abbey of New Clairvaux is a rural Trappist monastery located in Northern California in the small town of Vina in Tehama County. The farmland, once owned by Leland Stanford, grows prunes, walnuts, and grapes that the monks harvest from the orchards and vineyards to sustain the community.

Rancho Saucos was a 22,212-acre (89.89 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Tehama County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Robert H. Thomes. The name means "Ranch of the Elder trees". The grant extended along the west side of the Sacramento River from Elder Creek and Rancho Las Flores on the north to Thomes Creek on the south, and encompassed present-day Tehama.

Vina (Spanish: Viña, meaning "Vine") is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tehama County, California. Vina sits at an elevation of 210 feet (64 m). The 2010 United States census reported Vina's population was 237. Vina is the location of the Roman Catholic Trappist Abbey of New Clairvaux.

Rancho Rio de los Molinos was a 22,172-acre (89.73 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Tehama County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Albert Gallatin Toomes. "Rio de los Molinos" means "River of the Mills". The long narrow grant extended along the east side of the Sacramento River from Dye Creek on the north, to Toomes Creek on the south, and encompassed present-day Los Molinos.

Dye Creek is an 18.2-mile-long (29.3 km) watercourse in Tehama County, California, United States, that is a tributary to the Sacramento River. Dye Creek's watershed is situated in north-central California. The Dye Creek watershed contains rugged terrain areas of oak-studded forest, and also provides habitat for numerous understory flora and fauna. An example forb found in the watershed is the poppy Calochortus luteus, which is at its northern limit around the Dye Creek watershed.Dye Creek was named for Job Dye, an early landowner.Dye Creek Preserve is a large state holding managed by The Nature Conservancy that encompasses much of the Dye Creek watershed.
