South Dublin

Dublin South FM is a Community Radio station for South Dublin, which broadcasts seven days a week from 11am to 11pm on 93.9FM, and broadcasts 24 hours a day on digital. The station is operated by a democratic co-operative, Dublin South FM Co-Op, and is open to all individuals and organisations in South Dublin. Over 70 volunteers produce and broadcast 84 hours of programmes each week from its studios in Dundrum Town Centre. The station focuses on local news and current affairs with an emphasis on supporting community development, and provides a platform to a wide range of local groups in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown area. The station also broadcasts a wide range of specialist music programmes (Jazz, Soul, Country, Reggae, Rock etc.) and also features History, Arts, Foreign language, Business programmes and Documentaries. Dublin South FM is Dublin's first Community Radio station to be licensed and regulated by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.

Corkagh Park (Irish: Páirc Chorcaí, from corcach, meaning "marsh") is a park situated in Clondalkin in South Dublin, between the N7 and the Old Nangor Road. The River Camac flows through it and within the grounds of the park there are fishing ponds. A caravan park can be found near the parks N7 entrance. The area, once Corkagh Demesne, contained two large houses, and historically also featured mills.

Cheeverstown (Irish: Baile an tSíbhrigh) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2011 as a stop on the extension of the Red Line to Saggart. The stop is located on a section of reserved track at the side of Katherine Tynan Road in the Cheeverstown area of south-west Dublin. The stop has a park and ride facility with 312 spaces.

St Francis Football Club is an Irish association football club originally based in The Liberties in Dublin. They played in the League of Ireland First Division from 1996–97 until 2000–01. They currently play in the Leinster Senior League and operate a number of schoolboy and women's teams. The club wear green and white hooped shirts.

Morry Park College is a secondary school in Clondalkin, South Dublin, Ireland. The school was established by the Marist Brothers in 1957 [1] and grew rapidly, as did the population of the local area. As of school year 2017, no more Marist Brothers teach in the school. In 2007 Morry Park College celebrated its Golden Jubilee. On 13 October a ceremony was held in the sports hall to mark the occasion. This was attended by the then President of Ireland Mary McAleese who also opened the Golden Jubilee Garden. The current principal is Niamh Cahalane who took over from Maurice Hartigan in August 2016. Notable past pupils include the late Mark Flynn, former front man for the folk/rock band Boolabus based in Helsinki Finland, Irish politician and government minister John Curran, Dublin Senior Football Manager Jim Gavin, Longford Senior Football Manager Jack Sheedy, Former Dublin Senior Footballer Derek Murray, Olympic boxer Kenny Egan, TV presenter Brian Ormond and famous grime artist Morry. During the summer months the college is host to Morry Park English Language College. This summer project sees more than 300 international students come to the college to learn English as a second language. Students come from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France and Italy and stay in the Clondalkin, Palmerstown, Tallaght and Lucan areas of Dublin.

Citywest Campus (Irish: Campas Gnó Iarthar na Cathrach) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2011 as a stop on the extension of the Red Line to Saggart. The stop is located on a section of reserved track next to The Walk in the Citywest development in south-west Dublin which includes a hotel, golf course, shopping centre, and housing.Citywest was still in development when the Luas line was being planned, so the streets were planned around the tram tracks. To the west of the stop, trams travel past the village green on their way to Saggart The stop is served by Dublin Bus routes 65B and 77A. In addition, Citywest Campus operates its own bus route which acts as a feeder service to the Luas, and takes passengers to other areas of the campus.

Clondalkin ( klun-DAWK-ən; Irish: Cluain Dolcáin, meaning 'Dolcan's meadow') is a suburban town situated 10 km south-west of Dublin city centre, Ireland, under the administrative jurisdiction of South Dublin. It features an 8th century round tower that acts as a focal point for the area. Clondalkin forms part of the Dublin Mid-West Dáil constituency. Clondalkin is also the name of a civil parish in the ancient barony of Uppercross, and is also used in relation to some local religious parishes.

Fettercairn (Irish: Fothair Chardain) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2011 as a stop on the extension of the Red Line to Saggart. The stop is located on a section of reserved track at the side of Katherine Tynan Road in south-west Dublin, between the Fettercairn suburb and Roadstone Quarry. The stop is also served by Dublin Bus routes 210 and 56A.

Newlands Cross is a well-known junction in the south-west of County Dublin. It is the point where the N7 National Route to the South West and Mid West crosses an orbital local route, the R113. For many years this area roughly marked the place where Dublin City ended and the "country" began, though it is now inside the urban area. The R113 (in the form of the Belgard Road dual-carriageway) joins Newlands to Tallaght in the South and to the Fonthill Road in Clondalkin village to the North; the cross itself is located at the southern end of Clondalkin. In November 2014 the N7 flyover and exit slip roads to replace the at-grade signal controlled crossing were opened. This eliminated the last signal-controlled crossing on the N7/M7 route between the M50 and Limerick. By 2007, the signal-controlled junction was suffering serious traffic congestion and the upgrade to a grade-separated interchange was planned. The upgraded N7 would pass over the R113. Construction went to tender in August 2008 and preparatory work started in September 2008. Following delays, construction proper started in June 2013 and was expected to be completed in May 2015. The new flyover opened to traffic ahead of schedule on 20 November 2014. Further works continued on the slip roads alongside the flyover until March 2015. Crime journalist Veronica Guerin was shot and killed in 1996, while queuing in traffic at nearby Boot Road junction (now closed). A memorial to her is located at the site of the incident, the "Boot Road" slip approximately 300 metres west of the junction.

Clondalkin Round Tower (Irish: Cloigtheach Chluain Dolcáin) is an Irish round tower or cloigtheach founded by Saint Mochua, also known as Saint Cronan, and located in Clondalkin, South Dublin, Ireland. It is now a National Monument of Ireland. It's also become a museum that houses a cafe.

St Mark's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Springfield, Tallaght in South Dublin, Ireland. St Marks won the 2005 Dublin Intermediate A Hurling Championship then went on in 2006 to win the Dublin Senior B Hurling Championship. St Mark's hurlers were promoted to AHL3 in 2018. St Mark's fielded teams at AFL4 in football and AHL3 Hurling in 2019. The hurling team won AHL5 and made it to the Dublin Junior A championship final too in 2017. They also got to the Intermediate Hurling championship Final in 2018, another promotion in AHL4 the same year. The club also caters for Juvenile, Minor and Junior teams in Football, Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Football.

Baldonnel (Irish: Baile Dhónaill, meaning 'homestead of the O'Donnels') is a townland, and industrial/agricultural area near Clondalkin, Tallaght, Lucan, Saggart and Naas, in west County Dublin. It is around 15 km west of Dublin city centre.
