Elmwood School is a private day school for girls located in Rockcliffe Park in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1915 and is an International Baccalaureate World School. Elmwood School was the first school in North America to be accredited for all three levels of the IB Program - the Diploma Programme for students in the final two years of secondary school, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11–16, and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3–12. The school is also a member of the National Coalition of Girls' Schools and the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools. The faculty provides education to 400 students aged 4 to 18. Classes are small, with an average class size of 12 and a student to teacher ratio of 7:1. Tuition fees for the 2018–2019 school year are approximately $26,960 for grades 1 to 12 students. The current Head of School is James Whitehouse, who took over the leadership of the school in 2019 after seven years as Deputy Head of the Middle and Senior School. Prior to joining Elmwood, he served as Assistant Head at Seven Kings High School in Redbridge, London, United Kingdom. Like many other private schools throughout the Commonwealth, Elmwood's traditions are based on similar schools in Britain. Senior formal leaders in their graduating year are called prefects, the students wear uniforms, and each student is a member of a house. Recent graduates have matriculated to universities across Ontario, Canada, the United States, the UK and across the globe. Each year, over 80% of graduates receive valuable scholarships to post-secondary institutions such as the Greville Smith Scholarship from McGill University, the National Excellence Award from the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation, the Sesquicentennial Scholarship from St. Lawrence University in New York State, the Undergraduate Research Scholarship from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Science, the Richard Lewer Scholarship from Carleton University and the President's Entrance Scholarship from the University of Western Ontario to name but a few. In 2010, Elmwood's class of 43 graduates were offered over $1,000,000 in scholarship awards. The largest single scholarship awarded was in 2009, when $150,000 US was awarded to a student.In 2019, the entire graduating class were Ontario Scholars.

Rockcliffe Park (French: Parc Rockcliffe) is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward, close to the centre of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1864, organized as a Police village in 1908, and an independent village from 1926, and ultimately amalgamated with the rest of Ottawa on January 1, 2001. As of 2011, it had a population of 2,021. In 1977 the entire village of Rockcliffe Park was designated a Heritage Conservation District. Rockcliffe Park is one of only a handful of surviving nineteenth-century communities of its kind in North America.

190 Coltrin Road is the residence of the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the enclave of Rockcliffe Park amongst other prestigious ambassadorial residences. It was constructed in 1929 and is considered an important historical site, according to the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee of Rockcliffe Park, under the Ontario Heritage Act (1974).

The Apostolic Nunciature to Canada is the diplomatic mission of the Holy See to Canada. It is headed by the Apostolic Nuncio to Canada, which is both an ecclesiastical and diplomatic office, with the rank of ambassador. The Holy See first created a Delegation to Canada and Newfoundland on 3 August 1899. It became the Apostolic Delegation to Canada on 31 March 1949 when the British Dominion of Newfoundland became the tenth province of Canada. Once Canada and the Holy See reached agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations and the exchange of ambassadors, Pope Paul VI erected the Apostolic Nunciature to Canada on 16 October 1969.

Ashbury College is an independent day and boarding school located in the Rockcliffe Park area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was originally founded in 1891 by former faculty of Bishop's College School in Quebec to accommodate BCS students living in Ottawa. Ashbury College moved to its current location in 1910. Previously, it occupied what now houses Senate of Canada offices. It is an International Baccalaureate World School, a member of the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools, and a member of Round Square. The school currently enrolls approximately 550 senior (grades 9-12) and 150 junior (grades 4-8) students. The current Head of School is Norman Southward, with Andrew Young directing the Junior School and Gary Godkin as the Head of Senior School. Ashbury College is an independent school which offers a joint Ontario High School Diploma and Ashbury College Diploma, as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma and International Baccalaureate Bilingual Diploma. Originally a single-gender boys school, Ashbury began accepting female students in 1982. The male/female student proportion is approximately equal. The campus is 13 acres (48,562.277 m2) in Rockcliffe Park. There are 108 boarders yearly from approximately 30 countries throughout the world. Notable alumni include John Turner, Canada's seventeenth Prime Minister; Stockwell Day, former leader of the Official Opposition; Ben Barry, founder of the modeling agency Ben Barry Agency Inc.; Canadian war artist and heraldry expert Alan Beddoe; actor Matthew Perry; and journalist Adrian Harewood.

McKay Lake (formerly Hemlock Lake, McKay's Lake, or MacKay Lake) is a meromictic lake located in the former Village of Rockcliffe Park in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The lake is named for Thomas McKay, one of the founders of Ottawa, who once owned all of Rockcliffe Park in the 19th century, including the lake. The lake was officially named McKay Lake in 1954 after Rockcliffe Park Village Council passed a by-law. Prior to that the lake often appeared on maps as "Hemlock Lake", but locals referred to it as McKay Lake.The lake was once a swimming hole. Today, the west side of the lake is lined with mansions, and a public path known as the "Dog Walk", a closed portion of Lansdowne Road, while the east side of the lake is home to the Caldwell-Carver Conservation Area. The lake is drained by an intermittent stream that travels north into the Ottawa River. Its watershed includes the nearby Beechwood Cemetery and the next-door Sand Pits Lake, better known as "The Pond". The lake is fed by an intermittent stream that flows into the lake from the southeast.

Lindenlea is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, northeast of Downtown. It is bordered by Maple Lane to the north, Acacia Avenue to the east, Beechwood Avenue to the south and Springfield Road to the west.Prior to its founding in 1919, there were some homes in the area on Beechwood Avenue adjacent to the community of Clarkstown (now part of Vanier) and on Rideau Terrace. It is the earliest planned community in Ottawa, dating back to the end of the First World War. The community was planned by Thomas Adams and is an example of Adams' garden suburb style. Most of the homes have large back yards, a feature of this planning style. The community is divided into upper Lindenlea, north of Rideau Terrace, and lower Lindenlea. Only upper Lindenlea was planned by Adams. This part of the neighbourhood was developed by the Ottawa Housing Corporation, and was bought for $66,000. Lower Lindenlea was developed later but followed many of the garden suburb principles, including the large back yards, and contains a "melange of 1950s brick apartments". The Champlain Towers apartment complex was built by the Campeau Corporation in this section in 1962, and a further development in this section called "Springfield Mews", was built in the 1980s.In 2019, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the neighbourhood, the City of Ottawa installed commemorative street signs in the neighbourhood, replacing the regular blue and white municipal street signs.Lindenlea is notable for its picturesque architecture, mature trees, and plentiful green space. The community association produces a periodic newsletter called The Lindenleader and residents of Lindenlea also receive The New Edinburgh News produced by the community association of neighbouring New Edinburgh. Lindenlea has a children's park, tennis courts, a bowling green and a community centre. The community centre was originally a communal garage—there were so few cars that the land was purchased by three local residents for use as a car park, but was later donated to the City. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census was 1,702.

Sand Pits Lake, better known as The Pond or McKay Pond is an artificial lake located next to McKay Lake in the Rockcliffe Park neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The lake is a popular location for swimming, but it does not have any beach facilities such as washrooms or picnic areas. Swimming is only permitted between 7am and 2pm. The city often pumps groundwater into the lake to keep water levels high. It is part of the Caldwell-Carver Conservation Area.The lake is home to great blue herons, black-crowned night herons, green herons, double-crested cormorants, river otters, green frogs, snapping turtles, squirrels and many types of fish.The location of the lake was used as a sand and gravel pit from 1890 to 1949, and was known as the "Sandpits". Afterwards, the pit filled with water, becoming a swimming hole. An Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) ruling in 1975 allowed for public access to the pond. The OMB approved a 102-unit luxury housing development in the area in 1981, and construction began in 1983.
