Copley Symphony Hall

Symphony Towers is a 1.2-million-square-foot late modernist two-tower hotel and office complex located in the historic Financial District in downtown San Diego, California, on B Street. The mixed-use, high-rise building includes a 34-story office building with 530,000 square feet of rentable space, the 264-room Marriott Vacation Club Pulse San Diego, a five-level parking structure and the 2,255-seat Copley Symphony Hall. In addition, the penthouse floor houses the exclusive University Club, and the tower has a helipad on the roof. At 152 m (499 ft), Symphony Tower building is the second tallest skyscraper in San Diego, only one foot under One America Plaza, the city's tallest at 152.4 m (500 ft). Douglas P. Wilson, current chairman and C.E.O. of Douglas Wilson Companies (DWC), partnered with Charlton Raynd Ventures to develop the project which opened in 1989. In 1988, during the course of construction, the project stalled and was acquired by London & Edinburgh Investment, Inc, a subsidiary of London-listed London & Edinburgh Trust PLC. The construction was completed and the office building fully leased. The project was retained by LEI and Charlton Raynd as an investment for several years. Designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Symphony Towers is widely seen as one of Downtown's premier locations.

El Cortez is a condominium building in San Diego, California. Built from 1926 to 1927, the El Cortez was the tallest building in San Diego when it opened. It sits atop a hill at the north end of Downtown San Diego, where it dominated the city skyline for many years and became a landmark hotel. From its opening in 1927 through the 1950s, it was the most glamorous apartment-hotel in San Diego. The large "El Cortez" sign, which is illuminated at night, was added in 1937 and could be seen for miles. In the 1950s, the world's first outside glass elevator was built at the El Cortez. During the late 1960s and 1970s, the El Cortez fell on harder times. The El Cortez closed as a hotel in 1978 when it was purchased by evangelist Morris Cerullo to serve as an evangelism school. Cerullo sold the property in 1981, and the El Cortez was threatened with demolition until the San Diego Historic Site Board designated it as a historic site in 1990. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. Many of the original elements remain in place, though substantial interior modifications have been made. The building is the 40th tallest building in San Diego, based on its height of 310 ft (94 m).

Imperial Bank Tower, also known as 701B, is the 25th tallest building in San Diego, California and is a prominent fixture in San Diego's skyline. The 24-story skyscraper has a height of 355 ft (108 m) and is located in the Core district of Downtown San Diego and was constructed in 1982.

Vantage Pointe Condominium is a high-rise 40 Story building in San Diego. Bounded by Ninth and tenth Avenues, and A and B Streets, construction began in 2006 and ended in 2008. It is one of Downtown San Diego's largest apartment buildings, surpassed only by the Pinnacle West Tower by about 60 feet. In 2009 the building's owners announced they will refund all the purchase deposits made for its units.Architect critics have criticized the building's lack of "human-scale relationship at street level," thus earning it the "Grand Onion" award by the San Diego Architectural Foundation.

The Union Bank of California Building is a 27-storey, 118.26-metre (388.0 ft) skyscraper in San Diego, California, completed in 1969. For 20 years, the tower stood as the tallest building in the city, until the completion of the 152-metre (499 ft) Symphony Towers in 1989.

Fifth Avenue is a station of the Orange Line, Blue Line, and Silver Line on the San Diego Trolley. It is located in downtown San Diego, California. The station is located along on C Street, between Sixth Avenue and its namesake Fifth Avenue, surrounded by several office buildings. It is one of the original stations of the San Diego Trolley, opening on July 26, 1981. At the time of opening, it was called Gaslamp station, due to its proximity to the Gaslamp Quarter. During the development of the Bayside extension, which would include a station much closer to the Gaslamp Quarter, this station was often called Gaslamp North station, while the new station was called Gaslamp South. When the Bayside extension opened in 1990, the new stop was called Gaslamp Quarter station, and this station was renamed Fifth Avenue to avoid confusion. This station was closed between December 17, 2012 and June 2013 for renovations as part of the Trolley Renewal Project.

Wells Fargo Plaza is the 26th tallest building in San Diego, California and is a prominent fixture in San Diego's skyline. The 23-story skyscraper has a height of 339 ft (103 m) and is located in the Core district of Downtown San Diego. The skyscraper utilizes a modern architectural style and was designed by the architect firm Carrier Johnson Architects.

The Colonel Fletcher Building at 602–632 Broadway, in Downtown San Diego was the site of some of the retail history of San Diego. The building is at the northeast corner of 6th and Broadway; Broadway was originally named D Street. It was built by "Colonel" Ed Fletcher around 1906–1908 along with Frank Salmans, and designed by architect Edward Quayle of the Quayle Brothers (who would later do the 1935 renovation of the Walker Scott Building). It was remodeled around 2005 by Champion Development Group.Originally it was a two-story building housing the Barnett-Stine Co. department store. Two more stories were added. Barnett-Stine went out of business in 1911 and Holzwasser's department store, opened in the building. In 1919, Holzwasser's moved to a new, larger building, now known as the Walker Scott Building. (Holzwasser's would go out of business in 1933 and the first Walker Scott store would open there.) The Owl Drug Company was then located in the building.The building was renovated in 2008.
