Arzakan-Meghradzor Sanctuary

The Tsaghkunyats Mountains (or Tsaghkunyats Ridge), Armenian: Ծաղկունյաց լեռնաշղթա (Tsaghkunyats lernasheghta), are a range of mountains in Armenia, mainly in the provinces of Kotayk and Aragatsotn. The range is of volcanic origin including many extinct volcanoes. It has a length of 42 km, stretched between Pambak Mountains near the village of Mijnatun at the north, and the right bank of Hrazdan River to the southeast. The highest peak of the Tsaghkunyats Mountains is Mount Teghenis near Tsaghkadzor, at 2851 meters. The range is formed by a volcanic field, containing Pleistocene-to-Holocene lava domes and cinder cones. The area is a popular mountain resort with its spa towns and villages, including Tsaghkadzor, Hankavan, Bjni, Arzakan and Aghveran.

Aghveran (Armenian: Աղվերան) is a mountain resort in the Kotayk Province of Armenia, within the municipality of Arzakan village, located to the north of Buzhakan village. It is situated on the Hrazdan River's right-side tributary of Dalar (Armenian: Դալար).

Gorgoch (Armenian: Գոռգոչ); formerly known as Korchlu, Gorchulu, is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. It is included in the community of Meghradzor village.

Pyunik or Piunik (Armenian: Փյունիկ) is a town in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. It is part of the community of Artavaz village. Pyunik is a popular summer resort with several hotels and sports facilities.

Tejharuyk (Armenian: Թեժառույք) is a 12th-century walled Armenian monastery located upon a wooded hill just southwest of the village of Meghradzor in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. It was constructed between 1196–99 and commissioned by Ivane I Zakarian, a commander of the Armeno-Georgian Zakarian-Mkhargrzeli family, who was a convert to the Georgian Orthodox Church. His vassal, Prince Bubak, and the latter's heirs are buried in the gavit of the church.

Marmarik (Armenian: Մարմարիկ), is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Tsaghkadzor Ski Resort, is a sports and tourists facilities located just above the Armenian town of Tsaghkadzor of Kotayk Province, approximately 60 km north east of the capital Yerevan and the Zvartnots International Airport. It was opened in 1986 adjacent to the Tsaghkadzor Olympic Sports Complex.

Meghradzor (Armenian: Մեղրաձոր), meaning, valley of honey; formerly known as Taycharukh), is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia, 15 kilometres (9 mi) northwest of Hrazdan. The village is located to the south of the Tsaghkunyats mountain range, along the left bank of the Marmarik River. It was founded my immigrants from Aratsap in 1830 and is well known for its famous honey, hence, the name Meghradzor literally translates to valley of honey. The nearby village of Gorgoch is also included in the community of Meghradzor. The community has a secondary school, kindergarten, first aid station, house of culture, and library. The local economy is heavily dependent on agriculture, based predominantly on beekeeping, cattle-breeding, and farming (potatoes, cabbages, and grains). There is also a disused gold mine north of Meghradzor that has been in use since the 19th century. In the foothills nearby, to the south, is the 12th-century walled Chalcedonian Armenian Tejharuyk Monastery.

Artavaz (Armenian: Արտավազ) is a village and a summer resort in the Kotayk Province of Armenia, on the left bank of Marmarik River. The nearby village of Pyunik is also included in the community of Artavaz.

Aghavnadzor (Armenian: Աղավնաձոր, also romanized as Akhavnadzor and Agavnadzor) is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Tsaghkadzor Olympic Sports Complex (Armenian: Ծաղկաձորի Օլիմպիական Մարզահամալիր), is a multi-sport training complex in the mountain resort town of Tsaghkadzor, Kotayk Province, Armenia. It was opened in 1967 a state-owned sports complex of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. It was entirely renovated between 2007 and 2008 with an estimated cost of US$ 8 million.

Kecharis Monastery (Armenian: Կեչառիսի վանքային համալիր), is a medieval Armenian monastic complex dating back to the 11th to 13th centuries, located 60 km from Yerevan, in the ski resort town of Tsaghkadzor in Armenia. Kecharis monastery, formerly called Kecharuk, was built in the Ayrarat region of ancient Armenia, in Varazhnunk, the 18th province, which included much of the present-day Hrazdan, Sevan and Ijevan. In the time of the Arsacid dynasti, this province was a royal hunting preserve. It then became the property of the Varazhnuni family. As far back as the 1st century, the region belonged to the Pahlavuni princes and was called Tzaghkanots. Nestled in the Pambak mountains, Kecharis was founded by a Pahlavuni prince in the 11th century, and construction continued until the middle of the 13th century with its acquisition by the Proshian family. In the 12th and 13th centuries, Kecharis was a major religious center of Armenia and a place of higher education. Today, the monastery has been fully restored and is clearly visible from the ski slopes. The domes of the two main churches were heavily damaged in an earthquake in 1927. The buildings were conserved during the period of the Armenian SSR, and rebuilding work started in the 1980s. A series of nationwide problems led to a halt in the rebuilding for about a decade as the 1988 Armenian earthquake hit, the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the First Nagorno-Karabakh War broke out, and Armenia was blockaded by its two allied Turkic neighbors. Rebuilding work resumed at Kecharis in 1998 and finished in 2000. The restarted work was paid for by an Armenian donor from Vienna, Vladimir Harutyunian, in memory of his parents Harutyun and Arsenik.
