Coombe Road was a railway station on the Woodside and South Croydon Joint Railway in London. When it was closed it was owned and managed by British Rail.

Lloyd Park tram stop is on the edge of Lloyd Park in the London Borough of Croydon in the southern suburbs of London, beside Coombe Road and opposite Croham Park Avenue and Castlemaine Avenue. It is 200 metres east of the site of the Coombe Road railway station, on the former Woodside and South Croydon Railway. The stop is served by the Tramlink route which connects central Croydon with New Addington. The tram route towards Croydon follows the route of the former Woodside and South Croydon Railway through the Park Hill Tunnels, whilst that towards Addington follows a new line of route alongside Lloyd Park. Two neighbouring Croydon schools, The Cedars School and Coombe Wood, travel daily from the tram stop, and rely heavily as no other public transport leads to the school sites. Because of this, it is one of the most popular tram stops on the New Addington route with over 300 pupils travelling every weekday.

Fairfield is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, covering most of the Croydon area of London in the United Kingdom. The ward currently forms part of the Croydon Central parliamentary constituency, except for a small area near West Croydon station which is part of the Croydon North constituency. The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 16,569.The ward returns three councillors every four years. At the 2006 Croydon Council election, David Fitze, Vidhi Mohan and Sue Winborn were elected to the council. All of them stood as Conservative Party candidates. The turnout in the ward was similar to others in the area. Fairfield contains Croydon town centre, with its retail and office core. Until 2018, it also contained Park Hill and the Whitgift Estate to the east which is mostly 20th century housing bordering Lloyd Park. These became a separate Park Hill and Whitgift ward in 2018, leading to the Fairfield ward now having a radically different character to before. Also found in the ward are Ruskin House, the headquarters of the Croydon Labour Party, and the Fairfield Halls concert hall and arts centre. The Vanguard Way passes along the Fairfield Path.

Lloyd Park (also known as Lloyd Country Park) is a 114 acres (46 ha) park on the outskirts of central Croydon, Greater London, managed by the London Borough of Croydon. It is bordered by Coombe Road to the south and Lloyd Park Avenue to the west. To the north, access is from Deepdene and Mapledale Avenue, and the park adjoins Grimwade Avenue and Addiscombe Cricket Club. To the east the park is bordered by Shirley Park Golf Course. It was created from land owned by Frank Lloyd (son of Edward Lloyd) a newspaper proprietor who died in 1927 which was bequeathed to the Borough of Croydon by his family, after his death.The Tramlink, New Addington line, runs along the southern edge of the park parallel to Coombe Road.

Sandilands tram stop is a light rail stop in the London Borough of Croydon in the southern suburbs of London. It serves the residential area along Addiscombe Road to the east of the centre of the town of Croydon. The tram stop is served by all Tramlink routes.

Park Hill Recreation Ground is a 15 acres (6.1 ha) park near the centre of Croydon, Greater London, managed by the London Borough of Croydon. It runs from Barclay Road to Coombe Road beside the railway line, with the main entrances on Water Tower Hill and Barclay Road. The nearest stations (equidistant to the park) are East Croydon to the north for Tramlink and National Rail services and South Croydon to the south for National Rail. The park was officially renamed as Park Hill in 1964.At the southern end, at the very top of the hill which forms the park, it joins the grounds of Coombe Cliff once the home of members of the Horniman Tea family. From there a steep drive winds down to Coombe Road where a footpath leads to South Croydon railway station for National Rail. The grounds now form part of the park and are open to the public, but the house itself, is not. As of October 2018, it is used for educational purposes. Where the drive meets Coombe Road there is a further entrance and a gatehouse, which is now privately owned for residential purposes. The house is grade II listed.Previously the site of a reservoir, the land became a public park in the 1880s. The park contains standard amenities, including refreshments and sports facilities, as well as a walled herb garden.In his memoirs, the Chronicles of Wasted Time (1973), Malcolm Muggeridge recalls the park as a childhood playground where he and his father often walked together and discussed socialism and world affairs.

Sandilands Tunnel is an ex-railway, brick arch tunnel in south London, currently serving the Croydon Tramway, which cuts through the Park Hill area on the eastern border of Croydon and serves as a key section of the Tramlink route connecting central Croydon, from West Croydon to New Addington.

The East India Company Military Seminary was a British military academy at Addiscombe, Surrey, in what is now the London Borough of Croydon. It opened in 1809 and closed in 1861. Its purpose was to train young officers to serve in the East India Company’s own army in India. The institution was formally known as the East India Company Military Seminary (a name the cadets always disliked) until 1855, when the name was changed to the East India Company Military College. In 1858, when the college was taken over by the government, it was renamed the Royal India Military College. Colloquially, it was known as Addiscombe Seminary, Addiscombe College, or Addiscombe Military Academy. The Seminary was a sister institution to the East India Company College in Hertfordshire, which trained civilian "writers" (clerks). In military terms it was a counterpart to the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich and the Royal Military College at Sandhurst.

On 9 November 2016, a tram operated by Tramlink derailed and overturned on a sharp bend approaching a junction. Of a total 69 passengers, there were seven fatalities and 62 injured, 19 of whom sustained serious injuries. This was the first tram incident in the United Kingdom in which passengers died since 1959.The service was running from New Addington to Wimbledon via Croydon, and was on the approach to Sandilands tram stop soon after 06:00. The second interim report into the accident indicated that although the speed limit approaching the junction was 20 km/h (12 mph), the tram had been travelling at approximately 73 km/h (45 mph). Driver error was found to be the cause of the accident.A Rail Accident Investigation Branch investigation found that the driver of the tram had had a microsleep before the crash. An inquest returned verdicts of accidental death on all seven victims. In March 2022, the Office of Rail and Road announced that it was to prosecute the driver of the tram, Tram Operations Limited and Transport for London over the accident.

Lebanon Road tram stop is a light rail stop in the London Borough of Croydon in the southern suburbs of London. It serves the residential area along Addiscombe Road to the east of the centre of the town of Croydon. The stop is named after Lebanon Road, a cross-street in the vicinity of the stop. The tram stop is served by all Tramlink routes. The tram stop is within the section of route where the tram line runs within Addiscombe Road, sharing road space with buses and local traffic. The two platforms are located on each side of the two lane road, but are staggered laterally rather than being opposite each other.

Cambridge Tutors College is an independent school and sixth form situated in South Croydon, outer London. It was founded in 1958 as a tutorial centre to help boys prepare for their Common Entrance Examination. Students come from over twenty countries, including China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar, the Baltics, Balkans, Nigeria, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Spencer Road Halt railway station was a halt on the Woodside and South Croydon Railway opened in 1906 and closed on 15 March 1915.
