George Washington Carver School (Fulton, Missouri)

Fulton is the largest city in and the county seat of Callaway County, Missouri, United States. Located about 22 miles (35 km) northeast of Jefferson City and the Missouri River and 20 miles (32 km) east of Columbia, the city is part of the Jefferson City, Missouri, Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 12,600 at the 2020 census. The city is home to two universities, Westminster College and William Woods University; the Missouri School for the Deaf; the Fulton State Hospital; and the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center state prison. Missouri's only nuclear power plant, the Callaway Plant is located 13 miles southeast of Fulton.

America’s National Churchill Museum (formerly the Winston Churchill Memorial and Library), is located on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, Missouri, United States. The museum commemorates Sir Winston Churchill, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and comprises three elements: the Church of St Mary Aldermanbury, the museum itself, and the Breakthrough sculpture. In 1677, the church had been renovated by English architect Christopher Wren.

Some of the buildings were designed by noted local architect Morris Frederick Bell. Located in the district is the separately listed Brandon-Bell-Collier House. Tucker Residence (1912), Klinginsmith Residence (c. 1900), Synodical College-Seminole Apartments (c. 1900/1930), Synodical College Dormitory-Seminole Apartments (1913), Gish Residence (c. 1950), Dave and Ida McCue House (c. 1910), First Presbyterian Church (c. 1885), Leland Waters Residence (c. 1923), Bauer House (c. 1883), and Martin-Harris House (c. 1843, 1866).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The building is famous for being the site of Winston Churchill's March 5, 1946 "Sinews of Peace" speech, in which he coined the phrase "Iron Curtain" to characterize the growing Cold War. Notable buildings include the Southern Bank of Fulton (c. 1905), Masonic Lodge (1872), Home Savings Bank (c. 1884), Montgomery-Bell Dry Goods (c. 1902), Humphreys-Atkinson-Reid Furniture Company (c. 1888), Fulton Cinema (1926), Kingdom Oil Company (1937), First Christian Church (1911), Adams Building (1890), and U.S. Post Office (1915).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Brandon-Bell-Collier House is a house in Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri, in the state of Missouri in the central United States. It was built in stages between about 1862 and 1917. From 1900 to 1902, it was owned by Fulton architect Morris Frederick Bell, who undertook a major remodelling, expanding the house to two stories and incorporating elements of the Queen Anne and Colonial Revival architectural styles.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. It is located in the Court Street Historic Residential District.

William Woods University is a private university in Fulton, Missouri. Founded in 1870, the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Expanding its mission to address the need for graduate and adult-oriented programs, the institution became known as William Woods University in 1993. It began offering graduate degrees and admitting men as well as women into all of its programs. It enrolled 1,681 students in 2021.

Dr. George M. Willing House, also known as the Fleming Home and Joseph Denton Home, is a historic home located at Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri. It was built about 1855, and is a two-story, five-bay, Greek Revival style brick dwelling. It has a side-gable roof and features six colossal pilasters which divide the front facade and a massive hand carved solid walnut circular stairway in the front-entrance hall.: 2 The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Robnett-Payne House, also known as Payne Hall and The Country Place, is a historic home located at Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri. It was built in 1857, and is a two-story, three-bay, vernacular Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It has a side gable roof and features a one-bay central entrance porch with Gothic style detailing. M. Fred Bell Speculative Cottage is a historic home located at Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri. It was designed by Fulton architect Morris Frederick Bell and built in 1893, with additions by Bell built in 1907. It is a one-story, Queen Anne frame cottage with a Bungalow style front porch and rear addition. M. Fred Bell Rental Cottage is a historic home located at Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri. It was built between about 1893 and 1894, with additions designed by Fulton architect Morris Frederick Bell built about 1904. It is a one-story, Queen Anne / Shingle Style frame cottage with a central hip roof with pinwheel projecting gables.
