The province of Pesaro and Urbino (Italian: provincia di Pesaro e Urbino, Italian: [proˈvintʃa di ˈpeːzaro e urˈbiːno]) is a province in the Marche region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Pesaro. It also borders the state of San Marino. The province is surrounded by San Marino and Emilia Romagna in the north, Umbria and Tuscany in the west, Ancona in the south and the Adriatic Sea on the east. The province has an enclave of the Umbrian commune of Citta' di Castello named Monte Ruperto. The province is also known as "Riviera of Hills". It is mostly covered by hills and is popular for its beaches. The ceramics museum and the Biblioteca Oliveriana are located in the capital city.The County Council is based in Pesaro while the headquarters of the provincial administration are in Urbino. The coat of arms of the province consists of a shield divided into two parts, each part is given the coat of arms of the two capitals. It has a robust economy with low unemployment, based on small and medium enterprises active in manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, other services. It has a very low per capita energy consumption. The small manufacturing industry contributes 22% of the province's GDP. Tourism in the province plays a primary role in the local economy; the main attractions are the coast and the Apennines. The beaches of Gabicce Mare, Pesaro, Fano and Marotta are the most famous ones.The Lucus Pisaurensis, the Sacred Grove of Pisaurum, ancient Pesaro, is just outside modern Pesaro in the hamlet of Santa Venerada. The province is also home to an unnamed Gallo-Italic language, yet some linguists named it Gallo-Piceno (Gallo-Picene).

The Municipal Chapel of Sant'Ubaldo is a Baroque-style, small octagonal Roman Catholic church located on Largo Mamiani 1, in central Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. The chapel was commissioned by the City of Pesaro in 1605 during the Rule of the della Rovere family. It was built to satisfy a voto (or plea) by the Duke Francisco Maria II (born 1549) for an heir. On May 16, 1605, Francesco's second wife, Livia della Rovere, bore him the desired son, Federico Ubaldo. May 16 is the feast day of Sant'Ubaldo. Unfortunately, Federico Ubaldo was to die at the young age of 17 years, and the Rovere family would cease to rule. The chapel was constructed next to city hall. The church interior once held a Sant'Ubaldo by Palma il Giovane, and a San Terenzio by Terenzio Terenzi. It holds the tombs of Guidobaldo II della Rovere, Duke of Urbino, and his wife Vittoria Farnese. Over the years it has become the temple used for official ceremonies of the city, and has become a temple for the memory of those from Pesaro who died (caduti) in the World Wars.

The Archdiocese of Pesaro (Latin: Archidioecesis Pisaurensis) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in central Italy. Its see at Pesaro was elevated to the status of metropolitan archiepiscopal see in 2000. Its suffragans are the Diocese of Fano-Fossombrone-Cagli-Pergola and the Archdiocese of Urbino-Urbania-Sant'Angelo in Vado.

The Church of the Santissima Annunziata is a small Baroque church or oratory located on via dell'Annunziata in central Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. The deconsecrated church was restored in the year 2000, and the building in 2016 was used for cultural exhibitions and events.

The Biblioteca Oliveriana is a public library located in the Palazzo Almerici on via Mazza in the town of Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. It shares the building with the Museo Oliveriano, an archaeology museum with which it shares a common history.

The Battle of Pesaro was a minor battle in the Neapolitan War that took place on 28 April 1815 in the town of Pesaro. The main Neapolitan army, commanded by their king, Joachim Murat, was retreating to their original headquarters in Ancona following a string a defeats in Northern Italy at the hands of the Germans. The Neapolitans were being pursued by an Austrian corps under the command of Adam Albert von Neipperg. Just like at the Battle of Cesenatico, a vastly outnumbered Austrian raiding party of hussars and jägers once again successfully attacked a Neapolitan garrison of 3,000 men during the night. The Austrians brought out 250 prisoners with only minor casualties whilst inflicting moderate casualties on the garrison, forcing them to flee during the night.

Teatro Rossini is the name of an opera house in Pesaro, Italy that serves as a venue for the Rossini Opera Festival. Built as the Teatro Nuovo (on the site of the original 1637 Teatro del Sole), it was inaugurated on 10 June 1818 with a performance of Gioacchino Rossini's La gazza ladra conducted by the composer in the town of his birth. It seats 860, with an auditorium designed in the classic horseshoe shape with four tiers of boxes plus the gallery. The theatre took its present name in the composer's honour in 1854. After a 1930 earthquake it required structural renovations. It re-opened in August 1934 with a performance of Guglielmo Tell. In 1966, however, cracks in the walls and decaying woodwork led to its being declared unsafe, and it was closed for 14 years. It re-opened again on 6 April 1980, the same year as the first Rossini Opera Festival took place. Since then it has been the home of the annual festival, which is held in August. Additional renovations took place in 2002.

The Ruggeri House (Italian: Villino Ruggeri, literally "Ruggeri Cottage") is a Liberty style villa located in the town of Pesaro, the Marche, in Italy. It was constructed between 1902 and 1907 for the pharmaceutical industrialist Oreste Ruggeri (1857–1912) and his family as a retreat. The architect was Giuseppe Brega (1877–1960). The house is three storeys high. The front facade with the balcony has very ornate floral art nouveau stucco decorations with the monogram of the owner. The paint is in light green and white.

The Madonna Del Porto, also known as the Madonna della Scala, is a Neoclassic-style, Roman Catholic church located in Pesaro, region of Marche, Italy. The church was designed in 1822 by Pietro Togni.It is located in a small piazza just outside the walls of the town, leading to the Port. In front there is a small fountain designed by Giovanni Francesco Buonamici of Rimini. The first altar once held a Sant'Ubaldo by Palma il Giovane, now a St Andrew, St Peter, and the fisherman with Christ by an unknown painter; and the second altar, a Visitation by Giovanni Giacomo Pandolfi. The facade has four columns with corinthian capitals, and in the upper portion, a statue of the Virgin and Child with a Scala Coeli and Angels.
