Carrigeen (Irish: Carraigín, meaning 'little rock') is a village to the south-east of Mooncoin in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Carrigeen is situated on a hillock within the Suir Valley, contains St. Kevin's Church and belongs to the parish of Mooncoin. There is a primary school and a GAA club in Carrigeen. St. Kevin's Church is one of the three churches of the parish of Mooncoin, together with a church in Killinaspick and Mooncoin.

Woodstown (Irish: Baile na Coille, IPA:[ˈbˠalʲəˈnˠaˈkɛl̪ʲə]) is home to a historic settlement measuring 1.5 km by 0.5 km, located on the southern bank of the River Suir, about 5.5 km west of Waterford City in the southeast of Ireland. This site should not be confused with Woodstown beach which is on the western side of Waterford Harbour near the fishing port of Dunmore East.

Mount Congreve is an 18th-century Georgian estate and mansion situated near the village of Kilmeaden in County Waterford, Ireland. The architect was John Roberts, a Waterford-based architect who subsequently designed and built most of the 18th-century public buildings in Waterford, including both cathedrals. The House is situated close to the Southern bank of the River Suir approximately 7 kilometres from Waterford City. It overlooks County Kilkenny to the North.

Carrigeen GAA an Irish Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in Carrigeen in the very far south of County Kilkenny, Ireland. They are Mooncoin GAA's reserve team. The club was established in 1954 and its home grounds are at Asper Park, which were officially opened in 1991 by Paddy Buggy of Slieverue, former President of the GAA. Carrigeen play in black and amber stripes. As of 2008, the club was reportedly spending €500,000 developing its grounds, with the National Lottery putting up €200,000, Kilkenny County Council €100,000, and the club raising the remaining €200,000. Carrigeen may be one of Kilkenny's smallest clubs but the opening of these fine grounds shows the dedication and spirit that exists in the local community. Many great games of hurling have already been played on these grounds over the past few years and we look forward to many more exciting clashes in the years ahead.

Kilmeadan or Kilmeaden (Irish: Cill Mhíodáin) is a village in County Waterford, Ireland. It is on the R680 regional road. The town is 36 km (22 mi) from Dungarvan and 8 km (5.0 mi) from Waterford. Kilmeadan Castle was a stronghold of the le Poer family in the fourteenth century. In the late thirteenth century, it was in the possession of Sir Walter de la Haye, a leading figure in the Irish Government from about 1270 to 1308. The castle was destroyed by Cromwellian forces c.1650. The lands of Kilmeadan were granted to the Ottrington family, and later passed by inheritance to the family of Viscount Doneraile.

The River Suir Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the River Suir in Ireland. It was built as part of the N25 Waterford Bypass, and opened to traffic on 19 October 2009, some ten months ahead of schedule. The Viking settlement at Woodstown was discovered during the project and the route of the southern approach roads was altered to preserve the site. The 230 metre main span had the longest single bridge span in the Republic of Ireland, until the opening of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge, taking that record from the Boyne River Bridge on the Dublin to Belfast M1 motorway. By comparison, the main span of the Foyle Bridge in Northern Ireland is four metres longer.

The Knockeen Portal Tomb is a megalith in Knockeen, County Waterford, Ireland. It is the largest dolmen (portal tomb) in County Waterford exhibiting a double capstone configuration, though it is not the tallest standing stone structure. It is one of the finest examples of a dolmen in Ireland.

The Gaulstown Portal Tomb or Gaulstown Dolmen is a megalithic portal tomb situated in Gaulstown, Butlerstown in County Waterford in the Republic of Ireland. It lies about 7 km south west of Waterford City.

Mooncoin (Irish: Móin Choinn, meaning 'Coyne's Bogland') is an urban area in County Kilkenny, in Ireland. The population was 1,175 in 2016. Historically part of the Gaelic kingdom of Osraige, today it is in the far south of the county of Kilkenny, located in the valley of the River Suir. It is surrounded by the uplands of the Slievenamon and Comeragh Mountains, just 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of Waterford City along the N24 national primary road (Waterford to Limerick), and it is 48 kilometres (30 mi) south of Kilkenny.The town's name derives from an anglicized version of the Irish "Móin Choinn" which means "Coyne's Bogland". The song "The Rose of Mooncoin" by poet Watt Murphy has been adopted as the Kilkenny GAA anthem. The town has continually received high scores in the Tidy Towns competition.

River Blackwater is a tributary of the River Suir in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is formed by the confluence of the Derrylacky River and the Poulanassy or Assy River just to the south of Mullinavat before it flows southwards through the village of Kilmacow before joining the Suir estuary below the townland of Dunkitt.A rubble stone bridge crosses the river near Kilmacow. Built about 1775 it is believed to incorporate some of a late medieval bridge of C1600. It comprises eight pointed segmental arches with squared voussoirs and rubble stone soffits. The unrefined rustic quality means it integrates well in the rural landscape.

Ballybeg (Irish: Baile Beag) is a largely working class district in Waterford, Ireland. The area consists of four council housing estates - Ballybeg, Priory Lawn, Clonard Park and Ardmore Park, and a private housing estate, Glencarra.As of 2007, the community was reported as being "approximately 750 houses". The community was originally created to provide low-income housing.
