Calliaghstown Well

Dardistown Castle is a castle and country house situated in parkland near Julianstown in County Meath, Ireland a few miles south of Drogheda. The medieval castle itself is a large four-storey medieval tower house to which a Victorian residential frontage has been added. The tower is square with sides about 44 feet long and 50 feet high, with a turret at each corner. The ground floor contains the main room with vaulted smaller rooms in three of the four turrets. The fourth turret contains an anti-clockwise spiral staircase. All the upper floors have wooden ceilings and fireplaces in each main room. The corner turrets are higher than the rest of the tower and have a small flight of stairs leading to the turret roof. The staircase turret leads to a parapet walk.The residential extensions were added around 1750 with the addition of a front hall, drawing room and dining room, to which upper floors were later added. Other extensions were added around 1800 and the frontage was built in 1860.

Beamore or Bey More (Irish: Béibeac Mór) in County Meath is a townland which lies just south of Drogheda in Ireland. Together with the nearby townland of Bryanstown, Beamore forms part of the southern suburbs of Drogheda (which lies across the county bounds in County Louth).The remains of a 13th-century monastic settlement and farm, known as Beaubec Monastery, are located in the area.The townland has an area of approximately 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), and had a population of 210 people as of the 2011 census.

Bellewstown (Irish: Baile an Bheileogaigh) is a village located 8 km south of Drogheda, on the Hill of Crockafotha in County Meath in Ireland. It takes its name from the Anglo-Irish Bellew family, who were the dominant local landowners from the thirteenth to the seventeenth century.

It serves the residents of St Mary's Parish in south Drogheda and fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. One of the oldest GAA clubs in Louth, Wolfe Tones play gaelic football at all age levels from nursery to adult. The Tones' home ground is situated on Platin Road, beside the Boyne Valley Foods factory. The club's colours are royal blue and yellow.

The siege of Drogheda took place from 21 November 1641 to February 1642 during the Irish Rebellion of 1641. A Catholic force under Féilim Ó Néill laid siege to the town but failed to wrest the garrison from the Royalists. During the siege, the Irish rebels made three attempts to break into and capture the town. All three attempts failed and the town was ultimately relieved by English forces.

The siege of Drogheda took place from 3 to 11 September 1649, at the outset of the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland. The coastal town of Drogheda was held by a mixed garrison of Irish Catholics and Royalists under the command of Sir Arthur Aston, when it was besieged by English Commonwealth forces under Oliver Cromwell. After Aston rejected an invitation to surrender, the town was stormed and much of the garrison executed, along with an unknown but "significant number" of civilians. The aftermath of the siege is viewed as an atrocity which still impacts Cromwell's modern reputation.

The Saint Laurence Gate is a barbican which was built in the 13th century as part of the walled fortifications of the medieval town of Drogheda in Ireland. It is a barbican or defended fore-work which stood directly outside the original gate of which no surface trace survives. It has been described as one of the finest of its kind, and is designated as a national monument. The original names for Laurence Street and Saint Laurence Gate were Great East Street and Great East Gate, respectively. In the 14th century, the street and gate were renamed because they led to the hospital of Saint Laurence, which stood close to the Cord church.

The Tholsel (Irish: Halla an Bhaile) is a municipal building in West Street, Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. Formerly the meeting place of Drogheda Borough Council, it is currently used as a tourist information office.

Julianstown (Irish: Baile Iúiliáin) is a village in County Meath, Ireland. It is located near Drogheda on the R132 regional road. In 1641, the Battle of Julianstown was fought here during the Irish Rebellion of 1641. Julianstown is situated on the River Nanny (Irish: An Ainí) which flows into the sea at Laytown, about 3 km away. The village has both Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland churches, a national (primary) school and a public house.
