These appeals aim to raise funds for various academic and research purposes at the university, such as scholarships, buildings, libraries, and professorships. The Campaign for Oxford is the biggest higher education fundraising initiative in Europe and one of the largest in the world. The Oxford University Development Office oversees the campaigns and sets new goals every few years.
