Henry A. Wallace Beltsville Agricultural Research Center

Indian Creek Village is a subdivision in Beltsville, Maryland, located adjacent to Edmonston Road and north of Powder Mill Road. Located just to the north is Muirkirk. It is immediately west of the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, north of the Birmingham Masonic Lodge, and east of undeveloped land adjacent to Indian Creek, a tributary of the Anacostia River. The subdivision features several short streets, including: Lime Tree Way, Hockberry Way, Cody Court, Indian Creek Street, Moonlight Court, Twain Court, Figtree Court, Hammett Street, and Alcott Court. The land was acquired from the estate of Anna L. Stewart, deceased in December 1973. On August 19, 1985, the Development Group of Laurel, Maryland, incorporated the Indian Creek Village Homeowners Association to provide for maintenance, preservation, and architectural control of the residential lots and common areas. The homeowners association has five board members, and contracts for management and maintenance functions. The community includes 90 townhouse-style duplexes and undeveloped land, administratively divided into Sections A, B, and C. Section A was developed first.

Vansville is an unincorporated community in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. For statistical purposes, it is part of the Beltsville census-designated place (CDP).Vansville is named after the Van Horne family, who operated a tavern along the post road (U.S. Route 1).

It serves as the primary relay facility for the Diplomatic Telecommunications Service and services the communications needs of various U.S. government programs and agencies, including the SCS.

Washington's Birthday Marathon is an annual marathon in the United States that has been held nearly every February since 1962. It is held each year on the Sunday of Washington's Birthday Weekend and is conducted by the DC Road Runners Club. The race was originally held in Arlington, Virginia, but after a few years, it was moved to Beltsville, Maryland. Finally, it was relocated to Greenbelt, Maryland. The Greenbelt course started and finished at the recreation center of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and consisted of three loops around the Beltsville Agricultural Research Farm. When NASA permanently closed access between the rec center and Good Hope Road, the race start was moved to Duvall High School, and finally to the Greenbelt Youth Center. The race continues to consist of three loops on the farm.A three-person relay is also held at the same time.

The Ammendale Normal Institute is a U.S. historic location in Beltsville, Maryland. Bought in 1880, it was a school and novitiate operated by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. The Ammendale area is named after the previous owner, Daniel Ammen.Construction of the main building began in 1883 and was completed in 1884 with Thomas C. Kennedy as the leading architect.

It has a stop on the MARC commuter rail (on the Camden line), and hosts a dinosaur park.

The Greenbelt Historic District is a national historic district located in Greenbelt, Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The district preserves the center of one of the few examples of the Garden city movement in the United States. With its sister cities of Greenhills, Ohio and Greendale, Wisconsin, Greenbelt was intended to be a "new town" that would start with a clean slate to do away with problems of urbanism in favor of a suburban ideal. Along with the never-commenced town of Greenbrook, New Jersey, the new towns were part of the New Deal public works programs.Greenbelt's center has survived with few alterations compared with its sister towns. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1997.

The New Deal Cafe is a restaurant, music venue and community coffee house in the historic Roosevelt Center of Greenbelt, Maryland. It is a rare example of a restaurant operated as a consumers' cooperative, as it is owned by over 200 member patrons.The cafe, which has a small beer/wine bar in the back room, features nightly and some daytime performances by regional musicians, and sponsors several outdoor music festivals each year, including the Crazy Quilt Festival and the Greenbelt Blues Festival. The cafe walls are decorated with art by local artists, which is changed bi-monthly. The arts and entertainment activities are supported by the Friends of New Deal Café Arts (FONDCA), a separate tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. The New Deal Cafe won WTOP's Top-10 2012 best music venue in the DC region.The cafe's menu offers breakfast, lunch, and, dinner options as well as a variety of smoothies and coffee beverages. New Deal Cafe is currently under management by the Greenbelt Consumers Co-op grocery store. There is beer on tap and a selection of wines and bottled beer. The cafe is commonly referred to by customers as "Greenbelt's community living room" or "third place", part of the third place movement. Its name comes from Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, which was responsible for the founding of Greenbelt.

The Special Collection Service (SCS), codenamed F6, is a highly classified joint U.S. Central Intelligence Agency–National Security Agency program charged with inserting eavesdropping equipment in difficult-to-reach places, such as foreign embassies, communications centers, and foreign government installations. Established in the late 1970s and headquartered in Beltsville, Maryland, the SCS has been involved in operations ranging from the Cold War to the Global War on Terrorism.

Muirkirk is a passenger rail station on the MARC Camden Line between the District of Columbia's Washington Union Station and Baltimore's Camden Station. It is located at 7012-B Muirkirk Road over the bridge that carries Muirkirk Road above both the Camden Line and US 1. Muirkirk station consists of two platforms with open shelters on both sides of the former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Washington Division line. A concrete open storm drain runs beneath the northbound platform. Three pedestrian walkways cross over the storm drain as well as the tracks. US 1 runs behind the southbound platform which is protected by guard rails and a chain-link fence.
