Patrick Sarsfields Gaelic Athletic Association is a Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and ladies' Gaelic football club based in West Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Shaw's Road is a road in west Belfast, Northern Ireland, connecting the Andersonstown Road with the Glen Road.

Donegal Celtic Park, also known as Suffolk Road and Celtic Park or more recently the New Suffolk Road after its recent expansion, is the home of amateur league team Donegal Celtic. It is situated in the Suffolk Road in west Belfast. The stadium holds 8,283, but is currently restricted to 2,330 under safety legislation.In early August 2009, work on two new stands was completed. A home stand seating 1,850 spectators and an away stand seating 800 are the first phase in a plan to create a 5000 seated capacity ground. The plan is expected to take several years to complete.

De La Salle College is a non-selective boys' secondary Catholic maintained school in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is a Lasallian educational institution affiliated with the De La Salle Brothers, a Roman Catholic religious teaching order founded by French Priest Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle. As of 2018/2019 the school's enrolment was around 926.

St Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School (St Mary's CBGS) is a Roman Catholic boys' grammar school in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The Black Mountain transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility, situated on land 301 metres (988 ft) above Ordnance Datum (mean sea level) to the west of the city of Belfast, in Northern Ireland (grid reference J278727). It includes a guyed steel lattice mast which is 228.6 metres (750 ft) [1] in height. The height of the top of the structure above mean sea level is 529 metres (1,736 ft). It is owned and operated by Arqiva.

Belfast West (Irish: Béal Feirste Thiar, Ulster Scots: Belfast West) is a constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly. It was first used for a Northern Ireland-only election in 1973, which elected the then Northern Ireland Assembly. It usually shares boundaries with the Belfast West UK Parliament constituency. However, the boundaries of the two constituencies were slightly different from 1973 to 1974, 1983 to 1986 and 2010 to 2011 (because the Assembly boundaries had not caught up with Parliamentary boundary changes) and from 1996 to 1997, when members of the Northern Ireland Forum had been elected from the newly drawn Parliamentary constituencies but the 51st Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected in 1992 under the 1983–95 constituency boundaries, was still in session. Members were then elected from the constituency to the 1975 Constitutional Convention, the 1982 Assembly, the 1996 Forum and then to the current Assembly from 1998. Christian Brothers' School or CBS, (Irish: Scoil na mBráithre Críostaí), was a secondary school on the Glen Road, west Belfast, Northern Ireland.CBS was founded in 1962 by the Christian Brothers, a religious order founded by Edmund Ignatius Rice in the early 19th century.

Hannahstown is a small village in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on the outskirts of Belfast. It gives its name to a townland, parish and a suburb of Belfast. According to the 2011 United Kingdom census it had a population of 6,498.

Andersonstown is a suburb of west Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the foot of the Black Mountain and Divis Mountain. It contains a mixture of public and private housing and is largely a working-class area with a strong Irish nationalist and Irish Catholic tradition. The district is sometimes colloquially referred to as "Andytown". This area stretches between the Shaws Road, the Glen Road and the Andersonstown Road.

Balmoral High School was a secondary school in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was established by a merger of Deramore High School and Larkfield High School (founded in 1946). The school was managed by the Belfast Education and Library Board (BELB). The school opened in September 1996 ( The new building was opened in January 2002, not the school) and closed in August 2008, due to falling pupil numbers. It had been built as an education 'pathfinder' for the private finance initiative (PFI).The school's design was almost identical to Wellington College Belfast, however the shape of the building was slightly different. The old Larkfield building was situated adjacent to the new building occupied by Balmoral. The PFI was structured so that the old school site and land was used to build a large housing development and building the new school next to this site. The BELB are tied to a 25-year contract, which was inflation-proofed, and in 2006 the BELB paid more than £370,000 to use the school. Even discounting inflation, a minimum of £7.4m will have to be paid out over the remaining period of the contract, whether the school remains empty or not. At present, their Regional Training Unit occupies part of the Balmoral building. The project was described, by the Belfast Telegraph, as "botched".

Poleglass (from Irish Poll Glas, meaning 'green hollow') is an area of west Belfast in Northern Ireland. It is the name of a townland, a modern electoral ward, and a housing estate. The townland is situated in the civil parish of Derriaghy and the historic Barony of Belfast Upper. It is mainly an Irish nationalist area. Due to its proximity to both Belfast and Lisburn, it has become popular with commuters. This has led to the swift growth of housing in the area and a sharp rise in house prices. Addresses in Poleglass are classed as being in Belfast, and the telephone numbers in the area generally start with '90' as with the rest of Belfast.
