Old Nærbø Church

Nærbø is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Nærbø where the Old Nærbø Church is located. The 65-square-kilometre (25 sq mi) municipality was located in the district of Jæren inside the northern part of the present-day municipality of Hå. The municipality existed from 1894 until its dissolution in 1964.

Nærbø is the largest village in Hå municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located in the district of Jæren, about half-way between the town of Bryne and the village of Varhaug. The village sits about 38 kilometres (24 mi) south of Norway's fourth largest city, Stavanger. The village was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Nærbø from 1894 until 1964 when it was merged into Hå.The 3.09-square-kilometre (760-acre) village has a population (2019) of 7,269 and a population density of 2,352 inhabitants per square kilometre (6,090/sq mi).The Sørlandet Line, traditionally the Jæren Line, runs through the village, with the Jæren Commuter Rail service stopping at Nærbø Station, while the intercity service is accessible from nearby Bryne Station. County Road 44 passes west of the village.The area around Nærbø is one of the most important agricultural areas of Norway with almost half of the land in the municipality being used for agricultural purposes. The area is sometimes referred to as the breadbasket of Norway because of its large agricultural sector.The name Nærbø dates back to 1834 when the two local church congregations of Njærheim and Bø were amalgamated and the resulting congregation was called Nærbø. The church for this congregation was called the Nærbø Church (today called the Old Nærbø Church since the "new" Nærbø Church was built in 2005).

Nærbø Station (Norwegian: Nærbø stasjon) is a railway station located at Nærbø in Hå, Norway on Sørlandet Line. The station is served by the Jæren Commuter Rail between Stavanger and Egersund, and one of the two bihourly train services as Nærbø as its terminal station. The station is 37.68 kilometers (23.41 mi) south of the city of Stavanger.

Nærbø Church (Norwegian: Nærbø kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Hå Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Nærbø. It is the main church for the Nærbø parish which is part of the Jæren prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The stone and glass church was built in a fan-shaped style in 2005 using designs by the architect Gunnar Fossen from the firm Brandsberg-Dahls Arkitektkontor AS. The church seats about 500 people.This church was built in 2005 to replace the Old Nærbø Church which was nearly 200 years old and too small for the community. This church cost about 44 million kr to build.

Åna Prison (Norwegian: Åna fengsel) is a prison in Hå municipality in Rogaland, Norway. It is one of the largest prisons and has capacity for 219 inmates, 140 in a closed prison and 24 in a department with an open prison. The prison is for male inmates. There is no wall around the prison, but there are still very few escapes. The prison is located approximately an hour's drive south of Stavanger. There is no bus service to the prison. Åna is the largest correctional institution in the Southwestern Region of the Norwegian Correctional Services. Åna prison is also one of the largest Norwegian governmental owned farms.

Bryne Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Bryne, Norway. It is currently used mostly for football matches, and is the home ground of Bryne FK. The record attendance was set in 1980, when 13,621 spectators attended a match against Viking FK. Today, the seated capacity is 2,507, while the total capacity is 4,000.

Bryne Station (Norwegian: Bryne stasjon) is a railway station in the town of Bryne in Rogaland county, Norway. The station is located along the Sørlandet Line and it is served by the Jæren Commuter Rail between Stavanger and Egersund as well as regional trains between Stavanger and Kristiansand. The station is located 29.58 kilometres (18.38 mi) south of the city of Stavanger. The station has a staffed ticket window during weekdays. It also has vending machines for food and drink.

The Garborg Centre (Norwegian: Nasjonalt Garborgsenter) is an educational centre dedicated to the husband and wife authors, Arne Garborg and Hulda Garborg. It is situated near Arne Garborg's childhood home in the town of Bryne, Time municipality, in Rogaland, Norway.The centre aims to encourage people’s interest for the ideas and visions of the two important authors and members of society in Norwegian history. The centre will also encourage visitors to take a more active part in today’s society, and inspire them to read and develop their own creativity. It contains a roleplay, titled Strid about conflicts regarding language, identity and democracy. The center opened September 5, 2012.Garborg Centre is operated in cooperation with Jærmuseet, a museum organization aiming to inspire youth about science, technology and culture. Jærmuseet, which is headquartered in Nærbø, is also responsible for running several other local museum facilities in various parts of the district of Jæren. Jærmuseet is the regional science museum for the municipalities of Randaberg, Sola, Sandnes, Gjesdal, Klepp, Time and Hå.

Forum Jæren is a 65,5 meters (67,7 meters at the very top) high skyscraper in the city of Bryne, Norway. The tower has 20 floors and contains offices, meeting roms, and restaurants. The base area of the tower is 400 square meters.

The Ranglerock Festival is an annual rock festival that takes place in the small town of Bryne, located on the west coast of Norway. Usually arranged at the end of July. The festival was first held at Hognestad in 2002, then being called the Hoggstock Festival. The second year around, the arrangement was moved to Bryne, and in 2006 the name was changed to the Ranglerock Festival. The two-day festival is held indoors, and the last couple of years it has attracted about 600-700 people. The Hoggstock Festival received much attention in the local media as it often used slogans protesting against food festivals being arranged in the same period.

Bryne's location in the region of Stavanger/Sandnes and its road and rail links have made Bryne a popular area for commuters. The city is expanding rapidly and there have been reports of problems with schooling capacity. Bryne Church is located in the centre of the city and Time Church is located 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) east of the city .Bryne is located on the southern shores of the lake Frøylandsvatnet, about 30 minutes south of the city of Stavanger by train. The 5.43-square-kilometre (1,340-acre) city has a population (2021) of 12,465 and a population density of 2,206 inhabitants per square kilometre (5,710/sq mi). The city's urban area crosses over the municipal border to Klepp Municipality, with 0.98 square kilometres (240 acres) and 1,800 residents living in the neighboring municipality.

It is the church for the Bryne parish which is part of the Jæren prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The red, brick church was built in a long church style in 1979 using designs by the architect Per Stokholm. The church seats about 450 people.
