Genta Incorporated was a biopharmaceutical company started in La Jolla, California, which discovered and developed innovative drugs for the treatment of patients with cancer. Founded in 1989 by a highly skilled entrepreneur, the company focused on a novel technology known as antisense, which targets gene products that are associated with the onset and progression of serious diseases. At that time, only Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: IONS) (formerly Isis Pharmaceuticals until December 2015) was conducting significant research with this technology. Antisense is a short span of oligonucleotides – modified DNA structures ranging from about 12-24 bases that selectively bind to specific RNA. The intent is to block expression of an aberrant protein that contributes to the disease of interest. Genta in-licensed three different antisense molecules that blocked Bcl-2, a fibroblast growth factor (FGF), and the gene c-myb, respectively.

The Stage House Inn is located in Scotch Plains, Union County, New Jersey, United States. The inn was built in 1737 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 15, 1982. Through its history, the inn has also been known as Ye Olde Historical Inn, the Stanbury Inn, Ye Olde Tavern, the W.L. Deegans Hotel, Sutton's Tavern, and De Boud's Hotel.The inn sat prominently on the Old York Road, where it was a regular stop for stagecoaches on the "Swift Sure Stage Line" between New York City and Philadelphia.It was a primary meeting place for troop messengers and officers during the Revolutionary War; in fact, General Lafayette is known to have stopped at the inn while General George Washington was nearby.When President Abraham Lincoln called additional troops to defend the Union during the American Civil War, rallies were held in the Stage House Inn.The building is currently used as a part of the "Stage House Tavern," a restaurant and bar opened in 2003.

Old Baptist Parsonage is a historic church parsonage at 547 Park Avenue in the township of Scotch Plains in Union County, New Jersey, United States. It is associated with the historic Scotch Plains Baptist Church and cemetery. The parsonage was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 18, 1973, for its significance in architecture. In 2013, it was included in the Scotch Plains Baptist Church, Parsonage, and Cemetery listing on the NRHP.

The Scotch Plains School, or School #1, was located in Scotch Plains, Union County, New Jersey, United States. The school was built in 1890 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 12, 1978. Originally designed by Stanford White as an elementary school, it was repurposed as a high school within ten years of its opening. School One reverted to being an elementary school in 1926 and continued as such until its closing in 1974.The school was burned down by an arsonist in 1984. It has since been demolished.

It is located along North Avenue at the intersection of Netherwood Avenue and along South Avenue at the intersection of Belvedere Avenue. The Littell-Lord Farmstead, located in Berkeley Heights, Union County, New Jersey, United States, is a pastoral site reminiscent of Union County's agricultural past. It was built around 1760 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1979. It currently serves as the home and public museum of the Berkeley Heights Historical Society.The farmhouse was built around 1760 by farmer and weaver Andrew Littell, who lived there with his wife and seven children. It was passed down through the Littell family until it was sold to the Lord family in 1867. Elizabeth Wemett of the Lord family sold the property to Berkeley Heights in 1975.The farmstead property, all of which is owned by the township of Berkeley Heights, includes the main farmhouse, an adjacent Victorian annex in the Carpenter Gothic style (which served as a schoolhouse in the 1870s), a stone spring house, a summer kitchen, and 18 acres of farm and forest land.
