Auvil lies along West Virginia Route 72. According to the Geographic Names Information System, the community has also been known as Auviltown.

St. George is an unincorporated community and former county seat of Tucker County, West Virginia, United States. As a census-designated place, the population was 74 at the 2020 census. It is located on the Cheat River, where it is joined by Minear Run.

St. George Academy is a historic school building located in St. George, Tucker County, West Virginia, United States. Construction started in 1885 and finished in 1886, and is a two-story clapboard building with a projecting bay. It features a square tower with a peaked vent on each side and topped by a pyramidal roof with a spiked finial. In 1975–76, a new school was erected behind the old academy structure, and in 1982, the old school building was condemned by the state fire marshal and ordered to be razed or removed. It was moved to its present site in 1985 by the local historical society, and houses a local history museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Laurel Mountain, also called Laurel Hill, is a long ridge in north-central West Virginia, US. Along with Rich Mountain to the south, it is considered to be the westernmost ridge of the Allegheny Mountains and the boundary between the Alleghenies and the Allegheny Plateau.

Limestone Mountain is a summit in West Virginia, in the United States. With an elevation of 3,100 feet (940 m), Limestone Mountain is the 325th highest summit in the state of West Virginia. Limestone Mountain was named for its blue limestone rock formations.

Colebank is an unincorporated community in Preston County, West Virginia, United States.

Valley Furnace, also known as Fanny Furnace and Brushy Fork Furnace, is a historic blast furnace near Valley Furnace, West Virginia. The furnace operated from 1847 to about 1855, after which the site was abandoned. After 1965 the site became a roadside park operated by the West Virginia Division of Highways. In 2002 the property was transferred to the Barbour County Commission for use as a park. The site has not been developed for park use.

Sinclair is an unincorporated community in Preston County, West Virginia, United States, located at the intersection of Davis Hill Road and Sinclair Coalbank Road. The town is named after oil drilling in the area performed by Sinclair Oil Corp. The Sinclair United Methodist Church is also located in Sinclair, West Virginia.
