The British International School of Stavanger is an international school in Stavanger, Norway. It was founded in 1977. The school currently caters to approximately 500 pupils from over 50 different nationalities, from 18 months of age up to the age of 19. The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme, the IB Middle Years Programme, the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Careers Programme.

Forus is an industrial district in the city of Stavanger which lies in the southwestern part of the large municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Hinna, along the Gandsfjorden and it stretches south and west to the municipalities of Sandnes and Sola. The name Forus originates from an old farm located in this area, part of which is currently used for harness racing.The drainage of the former 4-square-kilometre (1.5 sq mi) lake Stokkavatnet and the surrounding marsh area, from 1906 and onwards, added 4.5 square kilometres (1.7 sq mi) of new land for the nearby farms. In 1940, at the start of World War II, the German occupants initiated construction of Stavanger Airport on this site. The area was later developed mainly for industrial purposes. The Equinor headquarters are located at Forus.

Forus Travbane is a harness racing track located at Forus in Stavanger, Norway. The course is 950 meters (3,120 ft). Owned by Norwegian Trotting Association, its tote betting is handled by Norsk Rikstoto. The venue opened in 1920.

Gausel Station (Norwegian: Gausel holdeplass) is a railway station in Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located at Gausel in the city of Stavanger. Located 9 kilometers (5.6 mi) from Stavanger Station, it is served by the Jæren Commuter Rail operated by Go-Ahead Norge by up to four hourly trains in each direction. The station is located along the double track section of the Sørlandet Line. The original station at Gausel was opened in 1902, and the station building was completed in 1908. This station was closed in 1966. The new station was opened on 16 November 2009 as part of the new double track from Stavanger to Sandnes. It is co-located with a Kolumbus bus stop, allowing transfer to several routes.

Forus Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Forus Videregående Skole) was an upper secondary school in Sandnes, Norway. It offered vocational studies, focused mainly on fine arts, and media and communication (photography, graphic design, video, computers etc.). It was the only upper secondary school in Norway to only offer artistic, visual and creative studies. About 330 students attended the school. In 2010 the school merged with parts of Lundehaugen Upper Secondary School and formed a new school called Vågen. In addition to existing studies, the music, dance and drama studies from Lundehaugen Upper Secondary School was moved to this new school. The new school is located in the town's cultural center, close to the cinema, museum, library and the town hall.

Gausel Church (Norwegian: Gausel kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the southern part of the large Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the Gausel neighborhood in the borough of Hinna in the southern part of the city of Stavanger. It is the church for the Gausel parish which is part of the Ytre Stavanger prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The red brick church was built in a fan-shaped design in 1996 using designs by city architect (Byarkitekten). The church seats about 450 people.

It is primarily a petroleum company operating in 36 countries with additional investments in renewable energy. In the 2020 Forbes Global 2000, Equinor was ranked as the 169th-largest public company in the world. As of 2021, the company has 21,126 employees.The current company was formed by the 2007 merger of Statoil with the oil and gas division of Norsk Hydro. As of 2017, the Government of Norway is the largest shareholder with 67% of the shares, while the rest is public stock. The ownership interest is managed by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The company is headquartered and led from Stavanger, while most of their international operations are currently led from Fornebu, outside Oslo. The name Equinor was adopted in 2018 and is formed by combining equi, the root for words such as equity, equality, and equilibrium, and nor, indicating that the company is of Norwegian origin. The Norwegian meaning of the former name Statoil is 'state oil', indicating that the oil company is state-owned.

Allied Forces South Norway (SONOR) was a NATO command tasked with the defense of Southern Norway. SONOR's area of responsibility included all of Norway with the adjacent sea territory excluding the three northernmost counties of Norway, which were under Allied Forces North Norway.

Stokka is a neighborhood in the borough of Lura in the northwestern corner of the city of Sandnes which lies in the far western edge of the large Sandnes municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. Stokka is bordered on the south by the borough of Malmheim og Soma, to the east by the urban part of the borough of Lura, to the north by Forus in the neighboring city of Stavanger, and to the west by Sola municipality. Large parts of the area are industrialised, with the area north of the road Løwenstrasse used as the headquarters of Forus Næringspark. The European route E39 highway runs along the east side of Stokka.

The Norwegian Joint Headquarters, NJHQ (Norwegian: Forsvarets operative hovedkvarter, FOH) is the Norwegian Armed Forces operational commando-center. It is located at Reitan outside Bodø, where during the Cold War NATO's Allied Command North Norway was based. The current organization was created on 1 August 2009, replacing a former joint commando center in Stavanger, which merged with the Northern Norway Command. It is led by chief-of-command, Lieutenant general, Yngve Odlo. His predecessor was Rune Jakobsen. The Norwegian Armed Forces states that a total number of 500 people are somehow connected to the Commando Central. The Commando Central cooperates with Forsvarets Logistikkorganisasjon (Flo) and Cyberforsvaret (CYFOR) so that the Operational Headquarters may work as planned.

The Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) is a NATO establishment headquartered in Stavanger, Norway. It was established at Jåttå on 23 October 2003 as a subordinate command of Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT). The purpose of this was to have a command with responsibility for training and exercise of the NATO headquarters. The old Joint Headquarters North (JHQ NORTH) was abolished and command transferred to the Allied Command Transformation (ACT) in Norfolk, Virginia, US.

Lura Church (Norwegian: Lura kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the large Sandnes municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Lura in the northern part of the city of Sandnes in the extreme western part of the municipality. It is the church for the Lura parish which is part of the Sandnes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The red, brick church was built in a fan-shaped design in 1987 using plans drawn up by the architects Ingeborg and Knut Hoem. The church seats about 320 people.
