Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach, formerly known as GTE Virginia Beach Amphitheater, is a 20,000-seat outdoor concert venue, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The Virginia Beach Sportsplex is a sports complex in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The name is most commonly attached to the main stadium within the complex, which opened in 1999. It has a permanent seating capacity of 6,000, on two decks of seating, though it can be expanded upwards to 17,000 for American football games. It was the first soccer-specific stadium built from the ground up in the United States. The Sportsplex is located across the street from the Princess Anne Athletic Complex and near the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater. The main stadium was the home field of the Hampton Roads Piranhas, a women's team in the W-League, which became the de facto top women's league in the country after the demise of the Women's United Soccer Association. It was originally their home from 1999 to 2002. In 2003 the Piranhas moved their home games to a smaller stadium on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan College near the city's border with Norfolk. It was also the home field for the Virginia Beach Mariners (USL-I) and the Virginia Beach Submariners (PDL). In 2007, the franchise was terminated, and as a result the Piranhas acquired the Submariners and renamed them as the Piranhas, a reflection of their women's team. Both teams played at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex for the 2010 season of the W-League and the Premier Development League. The stadium is now the home office for the Virginia Rush Organization as well as the home venue for its U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams. It is also home to the Norfolk Blues rugby team and Southern Virginian Trojans semi-pro football team. The stadium also hosted the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League, which played two abbreviated seasons at the Sportsplex and for whom the stadium's capacity was doubled. In 2009 the city of Virginia Beach turned over the Sportsplex to a private firm, Hometown Sports Management, who changed the soccer-only Bermuda grass field over to a more durable multi-sport friendly turf and paved the parking lot.

Landstown High School Governor's STEM and Technology Academy is a public secondary school located in Virginia Beach, Virginia which first opened in 2001.The school features the Technology Academy and Governor's STEM Academy, two of several magnet programs in Virginia Beach. It was founded as a general high school and technology magnet school in 2001 and additionally designated a Governor's STEM Academy during the 2012–2013 school year.Landstown is home to the award-winning "Eagle Elite" Madrigal (Chamber) Choir. Under the former direction of Dr. Martha Springstead, the choral department has performed in NYC (2005) with the Heritage Festivals of Gold at Riverside Church, and are members of the Disney Honors, Class of 2006, Class of 2011, and Class of 2015 held at Disney World.

Wheeler Field was a proposed 5,000-seat baseball park in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was supposed to host the Virginia Beach Neptunes of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an unspecified team in a summer wooden-bat league, and a junior college team from Tidewater Community College's Virginia Beach campus. Wheeler Capital, a limited liability company that specializes in venture capital financing and small business loans throughout the Mid-Atlantic states, purchased the naming rights for the stadium for an undisclosed amount through 2025.

Salem is a residential area of Virginia Beach, Virginia located in the southern part of the independent city. The Virginia Beach Sportsplex stadium is located within the community. It is a three-level steel and concrete structure, formerly home to the Virginia Beach Mariners professional soccer team.

Green Run is a residential and commercial community covering nearly six square miles in the center of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Built between 1968 and 1986, Green Run was the first Planned Unit Development (PUD) built in the South Hampton Roads region and contains 36 neighborhoods, including 4200 single-family homes, townhouses, three condominium projects, and three apartment communities with roughly 900 apartments. According to 2005 census figures, over 15,000 residents live within Green Run.

Green Run Collegiate High School, established 2013, is a charter school operating in Virginia Beach City Public Schools district located at 1700 Dahlia Drive (Green Run High School campus) of the Green Run area of suburban Virginia Beach, Virginia. It offers the International Baccalaureate. Although they are located in the same building as Green Run High School they are two separate schools. The mission of the school is to prepare students for success in a global society with attending college and joining the workforce or serving the nation with the military.

Green Run High School is a public secondary school located at 1700 Dahlia Drive of the Green Run area of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Green Run hosts a very diverse student population many of which come from the large concentration of military families that have moved into the area within the past couple of decades. The school was the largest high school in Virginia when it opened in 1979, with 247,000 feet of space. When it was first opened, it had the largest enrollment in the state. Due to changing demographics and the ensuing addition of new schools, the school is now one of the smallest in Virginia Beach when it comes to student body population. Construction cost totaled $11.4 million. The current head principal of the school is Tennille Bowser. In April 2010, it was announced that Green Run High School was one of three high schools nationwide to be awarded the 2010 College Board Inspiration Award winners for improving their academic environments and helping under-served students achieve equitable access to higher education. The prize includes a $25,000 award presented by The College Board.In 2016, Green Run's high school NJROTC chapter won second place in the National High School NJROTC SOP & Drill Competition, and in 2017, Green Run's NJROTC won first place of all the high schools in the competition.In 2019, Health and Physical Education Teacher, Bridgette Berthold, was a recipient of the Virginia Lottery’s “Made in Virginia” award. As a winner, she allocated a $9,000 reward to Green Run High School, allowing them to collect another $5,000 from the Virginia Lottery and $4,000 worth of school supplies from The Supply Room.

Beach Health Clinic is a volunteer staffed, private, non-profit clinic established in 1986 by a group of concerned physicians. The mission of the clinic is to provide basic medical services and prescription assistance to the uninsured, working poor families of Virginia Beach.

The Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal was built by a corporation in 1856-1860 to afford inland navigation between the Chesapeake Bay and the Albemarle Sound. It is really two canals, thirty miles (50 km) apart, one eight and one-half miles (13.7 km) long, connecting the Elizabeth River with the North Landing River in Virginia, and the other five and one-half miles (8.9 km) long, connecting the Currituck Sound with the North River in North Carolina.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Salem High School is a secondary school located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.The school has a Visual and Performing Arts Academy; one of eight magnet programs in Virginia Beach. Students throughout the city interested in these arts can apply. The class of 2008 is the first graduating class to include students from the academy.

Floyd E. Kellam High School is a public high school in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Located in the city's southern section, in Princess Anne, the school first opened in 1962, named after Judge Floyd Eaton Kellam. Kellam High School serves a large portion of the city of Virginia Beach, with the attendance boundary extending south to the North Carolina border. Kellam High moved into a new facility in 2014. Floyd Kellam High School is fully accredited under Virginia's Standards of Learning program. The school is the third-oldest in Virginia Beach, next to Princess Anne High School and Frank W. Cox High School. Kellam has also been a blue ribbon school in the Fine Arts Department for the years 2006 and 2007.
