Franklin D. Roosevelt High School is a public secondary school in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas (USA), serving grades 9 - 12. The school opened in 1963 and is part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school serves several South Dallas communities, including Cadillac Heights and some Oak Cliff neighborhoods.

8th & Corinth station is a DART Light Rail station in Dallas, Texas. It is located at the corner of 8th and Corinth Streets in the Oak Cliff neighborhood. It opened on June 14, 1996, and is a station on the Red and Blue Lines, serving Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center, the West Dallas Industrial Center and surrounding residential and commercial areas. It is the southernmost station on the DART system serving both the Red and Blue lines, from this point the lines diverge with the Blue line heading south and the Red Line heading southwest. The station provides free parking for passengers, as well as passenger shelters.

The Tenth Street Freedman's Town is a historic African American community in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas, Texas. A freedmen's town is a community settled by former slaves who were emancipated during and after the American Civil War. The freedmen's town that became known as Tenth Street began near the confluence of Cedar Creek and Cedar Creek Branch, at the foot of an African American burial ground dating back to 1846. The name "Tenth Street" became associated with the community in 1887, when John Scarborough Armstrong and Thomas Lafayette Marsalis platted the town of Oak Cliff.

Dallas Zoo aka Dallas Zoological Park is a 106-acre (43 ha) zoo located 3 miles (5 km) south of downtown Dallas, Texas, in Marsalis Park. Established in 1888, it is the oldest and largest zoological park in Texas and is managed by the non-profit Dallas Zoological Society. It is home to over 2,000 animals representing 406 species. It is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). Since 2009, when the Dallas City Council voted unanimously to turn the zoo over to private management under the DZS, attendance and community support for the zoo has surged. In 2015, the zoo achieved an all-time annual attendance record of 1 million+ visitors. The Dallas Zoological Society is supported by over 25,510 membership households and growing. The DZS manages all fundraising, membership, special events, food services, retail operation, volunteer programs, marketing, and public relations for the zoo under management contract with the City of Dallas

The Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet is a Dallas Independent School District (DISD) magnet high school located in Dallas, Texas. Formerly the School of Government, Law, and Law Enforcement, it is a part of the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center. The school was renamed in honor of Judge Barefoot Sanders in 2009. Students and faculty refer to the school as the Law Magnet. The Law Magnet allow students to explore careers in government, law, and law enforcement. The school has three pathways: Criminal Justice, Government, and Pre-Law. Students have the option to enroll in the pathway of their choice upon enrolling in the school. The school provides students with a range of experiential learning activities, including project-based learning in the classroom, courtroom observations, and internships. These learning opportunities let students engage with local government, legal professions, and law enforcement in a variety of settings.

The School of Health Professions is a public magnet high school in Dallas, Texas, United States. It is housed in the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center and is part of the Dallas Independent School District. There are several clusters within the school, including medical laboratory, nursing assisting, physical therapy, dental laboratory technology, dentistry and many others. Membership in the Health Occupations Students of America is encouraged to promote leadership development, as well as through the National Honor Society and HOSA. In 2012, it was ranked as fourth out of the top ten high schools in the North Texas area by Children at Risk, a research and advocacy institute dedicated to helping children.

Ewell Townview Magnet Center (commonly referred to as TAG or TAG Magnet) is a public college preparatory magnet secondary school located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. The school enrolls students in grades 9-12 and is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. It is known for its liberal arts, Advanced Placement Program and intensive education style. In 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010 Newsweek named the school the #1 public high school in the United States. In 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, U.S. News & World Report named TAG the #1 public high school in the United States.In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Ewell Townview Magnet Center, home of six magnet high schools in the Dallas Independent School District. SEM's mascot is an eagle, and its school colors are maroon and white. Its current principal is Andrew Palacios. Past principals include: Tiffany Huitt (who was promoted to DISD Executive Director), Jovan Carisa Wells, and Richard White.

In 2012, it was ranked 7th out of the top 10 high schools in North Texas by Children at Risk, a research and advocacy institute dedicated to helping children.

Riverside Park was a baseball park located in Dallas, Texas, and was the home to many Negro league baseball teams that existed in Dallas over the course of segregated baseball as well as the Dallas Black Giants of the Texas Colored League and, later on, the Texas-Oklahoma-Louisiana League. The park was just a few blocks away from Burnett Field, and left and center fields, on the bank of the Trinity River, were in play. The park was also used by the Texas League Dallas Steers for one game the day after a fire destroyed Gardner Park on July 19, 1924.
