KZMP (1540 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to University Park, Texas, and serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is owned by Estrella Media and airs a Classic Regional Mexican radio format. Programming is simulcast from co-owned 106.7 KZZA.

Campisi's Restaurant is an Italian restaurant located in Dallas, Texas, USA offering a self-described Roman cuisine. The facility was founded as The Egyptian Lounge in 1946 by Johnny Brazil Grisaffi. It was sold to Joe & Sam Campisi in the late 50"s and then renamed to Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant. It was first named Egyptian Lounge because Johnny had a friend who was a sculptor and owed Johnny money, so he traded what was owed to him for the sculptures of chariot races and were hung on the walls of the lounge. When it opened in the 40's it had a dance floor and bar and Johnny brought pizza to Dallas and served it in the lounge. He later added to the menu and changed the name to restaurant. When Joe and Sam bought it they called it Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant later they dropped Egyptian from the name. The Campisi family continues to own and manage the restaurant and have opened six additional branches throughout the Dallas area. Campisi's is well known locally for its founder's connections to organized crime, a fact that the restaurant capitalizes on for publicity. Jack Ruby, the killer of Lee Harvey Oswald, was a regular at Campisi's and was frequently seen eating there, including the night before the assassination of John F. Kennedy. After Jack Ruby's arrest for killing Oswald, Ruby requested that Joe Campisi visit him in jail. Joe Campisi and his wife visited with Jack Ruby in jail for ten minutes on November 30, 1963.

The George W. Bush Presidential Center, which opened on April 25, 2013, is a complex that includes former United States President George W. Bush's presidential library and museum, the George W. Bush Policy Institute, and the offices of the George W. Bush Foundation. It is located on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in University Park, Texas, near Dallas. It will be the future resting place of George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States (2001–2009), and his wife Laura Bush.

Moody Coliseum is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena in University Park, Texas (an inner suburb of Dallas). The arena opened in 1956. It is home to the Southern Methodist University Mustangs basketball teams and volleyball team. It was also home to the Dallas Chaparrals and Texas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association before they moved to San Antonio, Texas, as the San Antonio Spurs. It was also later the home for the Dallas Diamonds of the Women's Professional Basketball League. Moody Coliseum has been the home of SMU basketball since December 3, 1956, when the Mustangs defeated McMurry, 113–36. Moody has hosted Mustang Volleyball since the program's inception in 1996. It was also home to the Dallas Mavericks on April 26, 1984, for Game 5 of their Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Seattle SuperSonics, locally referred to as "Moody Madness". The Mavericks won the game in overtime, 105–104. Less than 48 hours later, the Mavs lost Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals to the Los Angeles Lakers by 43 points en route to a 4-1 series loss. The Coliseum has undergone several changes in the past few years to modernize the facility. In 1980–81, the newly remodeled E. O. ("Doc") Hayes Memorial Dressing Room was opened. In 1984, a new scoreboard was installed over the center circle and new chairback seats were built at floor level on the north side. In 1985, more chairback seats were added, this time in the west end. The original wood floor of Moody Coliseum was replaced with a new wood surface and new lighting was installed in August 1986. In 1996, the court was redesigned to mark SMU's entry into one of the premier basketball leagues in America, the Western Athletic Conference. In December 2006, a brand new $1 million jumbotron was installed. In addition, in the summer of 2007, the hardwood court was redesigned, with a new color scheme and midcourt logo for the Mustangs. In 2013 major renovations were made for the upcoming 2014 season, their first in the newly formed American Conference and with their new coach, legend Larry Brown. Renovations include: new concourses, lighting, seats, luxury boxes, Wi-Fi capability, floor color scheme and an LED scoreboard with LED signage around the arena. Cost of renovations this time topped the $40 million range.

Ownby Stadium was a stadium in the University Park suburb of Dallas, Texas. It was the home of the Southern Methodist University Mustang football team. In late 1998, the stadium was demolished to build Gerald J. Ford Stadium at the site.

Westcott Field is a stadium in University Park, Texas (an enclave of Dallas) on the campus of Southern Methodist University. The 4,000-seat stadium is home to SMU men's and women's soccer. SMU has some fame in the American soccer community as being the only major university in Texas to field a men's NCAA Division I soccer team, even though the game is tremendously popular at the youth level statewide, and the Texas youth soccer scene is heralded nationwide. Westcott field was used as a training facility during the 1994 FIFA World Cup. The Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, and Sweden trained at Westcott.

Armstrong Field was a baseball park located in Dallas, Texas on the campus of Southern Methodist University located where Westcott Field now stands. It first hosted SMU football from 1915 through 1925 (Ownby Stadium opened in 1926). It was the home of the SMU baseball team (1919–1980) for many years though at least the final four seasons were played off campus. The Mustangs, Southwest Conference participants, were a team of futility during their time at Armstrong Field, scarcely in competition to win the conference. Armstrong Field did have the advantage of being located next to an outdoor school swimming pool. Legend has it that collegians would sit in the two rows at the top of the stands to see the women at the pool instead of watching the ballgame. Some were hit with foul balls due to their concentration on the women at the pool. The pool helped augment attendance by 40%. Armstrong Field was closed after the 1976 season, but before the last game the players stole home plate and concealed it in the storage area of Ownby Stadium. The plate was signed by the players and ended up in the SMU sports information division. The final four years (1977–1980) of SMU Mustangs baseball were played at Reverchon Park before the baseball program was phased out.

Southern Methodist University (SMU) is a private research university in Dallas, Texas, with a satellite campus in Taos County, New Mexico. SMU was founded on April 17, 1911, by the Methodist Episcopal Church, South—now part of the United Methodist Church—in partnership with Dallas civic leaders. However, it is nonsectarian in its teaching and enrolls students of all religious affiliations. It is classified among "R-2: Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity".As of fall 2020, the university had 12,373 students, including 6,827 undergraduates and 5,546 postgraduates, representing the largest student body in SMU history. As of fall 2019, its instructional faculty is 1,151, with 754 being full-time.In the 2020 academic year, the university granted over 3,827 degrees, including 315 doctorates, 1,659 master's and 1,853 bachelor's degrees and offers over 32 doctoral and over 120 masters programs from eight schools: the Edwin L. Mockingbird Elementary School, formerly known as Stonewall Jackson Elementary School, is a public elementary school located in the Lower Greenville neighborhood, in East Dallas, Dallas, Texas. It is operated by the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). The school, in addition to Lower Greenville, also serves Greenland Hills (the "M Streets"), and is in proximity to it, as well as serving Caruth Terrace, Wilshire Heights, and portions of Lakewood Heights, Its campus has a capacity of about 400 students.Mockingbird is one campus housing Dallas ISD's deaf program for elementary school. In 1998-1999 the school was designated as a National Blue Ribbon School, and it won other academic achievement awards. In 2011 The Dallas Morning News wrote that Stonewall Jackson had "long been a selling point for families interested in moving to Dallas." In 2015 Tawnell D. Hobbs and Holly K. Hacker, of the same publication, described the school as "one of the desired campuses."

Kirby's Pig Stand was the first drive-in restaurant to open in the United States. It was opened by Jessie G. Kirby and Reuben Jackson in 1921, in Dallas, Texas. In the 1980s, it changed ownership to Jim Ingram and Monte Hough, and in 2009, its name was changed to Woodfire Kirby's.

The Granada Theater is a theatre located in Lower Greenville, in Dallas, TX. The theatre was built in 1946 as a movie house. In 1977, it was converted to a concert hall, only to revert to a movie theater soon after. In 2004 it was again opened as a concert hall.
