William H. Detrick Gymnasium is a 2,654-seat multi-purpose arena in New Britain, Connecticut. It is home to the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team. In 2005 it received a new floor, the first since the facility opened in 1965. The Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament was held there in 1998, 2002, and 2007. The facility is named after Bill Detrick, who was head coach at CCSU for 29 years, compiling a school-record 468 wins.

Central Connecticut State University (Central Connecticut, CCSU, Central Connecticut State, or informally Central) is a public university in New Britain, Connecticut. Founded in 1849 as the State Normal School, CCSU is Connecticut's oldest publicly-funded university. It is made up of four schools: the Ammon College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; the School of Business; the School of Education and Professional Studies; and the School of Engineering, Science, and Technology. As of Spring 2022, the university was attended by 8,898 students: 7,054 undergraduate students and 1,844 graduate students. More than half of students live off campus and 96 percent are Connecticut residents. The school is part of the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities system (CSCU), which also oversees Eastern, Western, and Southern Connecticut State Universities.

East Street is a bus rapid transit station on the CTfastrak line, located off East Street (CT-175) in New Britain, Connecticut. It opened with the line on March 28, 2015. The station consists of two side platforms serving the busway, with two center passing lanes to allow express buses to pass buses stopped at the station. Along with Cedar Street, it serves Central Connecticut State University. The New York and New England Railroad (and predecessor Hartford, Providence and Fishkill Railroad) served a station named Pratts at Allen Street. It opened around 1860 and was closed around 1890, replaced by nearby Claytons station.

Arute Field is a 5,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. It is home to the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils Football and Men's and Women's Lacrosse teams. The first incarnation of Arute Field was on land now occupied by the Elihu Burritt Library. The field was moved to its current location in the late 1960s. Jack Arute Sr., the owner of what was then one of the state's largest construction businesses, built the first field to bear his family's name. The second incarnation of the stadium was built in 1970 and demolished in 1998. The third and current version of the stadium was built on the same site of the second one, and opened in November 2000. Before the 2012 season, 2,500 seats were added to the east side of the stadium as well as a new state-of-the-art video board.

CCSU Baseball Field is a baseball venue in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. It is home to the Central Connecticut Blue Devils baseball team of the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference. It features an artificial turf surface, an electronic scoreboard, bullpens, batting cages, dugouts, and a covered press box.The facility, constructed prior to the 2010 season, opened on March 10, 2010. In the game, Central Connecticut State lost to Hartford 12–11. During the 2009 season, while the field was under construction, the program played at Beehive Field in New Britain.

The US National Iwo Jima Memorial is a memorial on Ella Grasso Boulevard, near the New Britain/Newington town line in Connecticut. It was erected by the Iwo Jima Survivors Association, Inc. of Newington, Connecticut. It was dedicated on February 23, 1995, on the 50th anniversary of the flag raising on Iwo Jima. It is dedicated to the memory of the 6,821 US servicemen who gave their lives during the 1945 Battle of Iwo Jima. Inscribed on the base are the names of the 100 men from Connecticut who gave their lives in the battle.The park also has an eternal flame and monuments dedicated to combat Medical Corps personnel and chaplains.

It opened with the line on March 28, 2015. The station consists of two side platforms, staggered on opposite corners of the intersection of East Main Street and the busway.

It opened with the line on March 28, 2015. The station consists of two side platforms serving the busway, with two center passing lanes to allow express buses to pass buses stopped at the station. Along with East Street, it serves Central Connecticut State University. The New York and New England Railroad (and predecessor Hartford, Providence and Fishkill Railroad) served a station named Claytons at Cedar Street. It opened around 1872, supplementing and ultimately replacing Pratts station, and was closed sometime after 1915.An access road for the station, Myra Cohen Way, is named for longtime Newington councilwoman Myra Cohen.

WPOP (1410 AM) is a commercial radio station in Hartford, Connecticut, broadcasting a news–talk–sports radio format. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The studios and offices are located on Columbus Boulevard in Hartford. WPOP broadcasts with 5,000 watts. To protect other stations on AM 1410, it uses a directional antenna. The station's transmitter site is off Cedar Street in Newington, Connecticut. WPOP is also heard on the HD2 channel of co-owned WUCS (97.9 FM). A 220-watt FM translator simulcasts WPOP programming, W265EB at 100.9 MHz.

Tephereth Israel Synagogue is a synagogue at 76 Winter Street in downtown New Britain, Connecticut. The Orthodox congregation, founded in 1925, meets at a two-story brick temple with Colonial Revival and Renaissance features, designed by Hartford architect Adolf Feinberg and built in 1925. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Holy Cross Parish (Polish: Parafia Świętego Krzyża w New Britain) is a Roman Catholic parish located in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. Founded on April 8, 1927, it is in the Archdiocese of Hartford and is one of dozens of Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England.

St. Mary's Parochial School is a historic former parochial school on Beaver Street south of Broad Street in New Britain, Connecticut. Built in 1904, it was the first brick school building in the city, and a fine example of Classical Revival architecture. It served as a school until 1972, and was converted into elderly housing in the 1990s. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
