The William Walter Mason Memorial Bridge (also known as Barron River Bridge) is a road bridge that carries the Captain Cook Highway across the Barron River at the boundary of four suburbs in Cairns (Stratford, Aeroglen, Barron, and Machans Beach) in the Cairns Region, Queensland, Australia. The first Barron River Bridge was built by John Holland Constructions in 1977. On 12 August 1978 it was named after William Walter Mason, the first settler who bought land on the north side of the Barron River in 1882.The first bridge was converted to southbound traffic after the second northbound bridge was built in 1988 as part of the highway duplication project. Both bridges are known as the William Walter Mason Bridges.

The airport lies between Mount Whitfield to the west and Trinity Bay to the east. The airport has direct flights to 10 international and 35 domestic destinations and many general aviation flights including a number of helicopter operators. Flights are operated to all major Australian cities and tourist destinations, regional communities in Far North Queensland, and a number of international destinations in the Asia-Pacific region with connections to the rest of the world. The airport formed the main base for Australian Airlines prior to its ceasing of operations in June 2006 (the airport remains a major port for parent company Qantas). It is also a base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the search and rescue helicopters of the Queensland Government. In the 12 months ending 30 June 2019, Cairns Airport had just over 5 million passengers.

It is now known as Cairns Botanic Gardens, and also known as Edge Hill Nursery, and Fitzalan's Botanical Gardens. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 2 February 2007.

It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 2 February 2007.The building is now home to the Tanks Arts Centre, a multi-use, contemporary arts facility for the visual and performing arts.
