Wicklow ( WIK-loh; Irish: Cill Mhantáin [ˌciːl̠ʲ ˈwan̪ˠt̪ˠaːnʲ], meaning 'church of the toothless one'; Old Norse: Víkingaló) is the county town of County Wicklow in Ireland. It is located south of Dublin on the east coast of the island. According to the 2016 census, it has a population of 10,584. The town is to the east of the M11 route between Dublin and Wexford. It also has railway links to Dublin, Wexford, Arklow, and Rosslare Europort. There is also a commercial port for timber and textile imports. The River Vartry is the main river flowing through the town.

Wicklow Lifeboat Station is located at East Pier in the county town of Wicklow, County Wicklow, a harbour town at the mouth of the River Vartry, on the east coast of Ireland. A lifeboat was first placed here by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 1857. St Patrick's GAA Club Wicklow Town is a Gaelic Athletic Association club with teams competing in Hurling, Gaelic Football, and Ladies Football in Wicklow League and Championship competitions. They are the current Wicklow senior football champions. St Patrick's GAA club is the only GAA club in Wicklow Town and has three men's football teams, Senior, Junior A and Junior C. They have nine juvenile football teams. They also have a senior hurling team and 3 juvenile hurling teams. The ladies section comprises a senior team, an intermediate team and 5 Juvenile football teams including 2012 County Champions at Under 16, Under 14 and Under 12. The Murrough Wetlands

The Murrough Wetlands (Irish: Na Bogaigh Murrach) are a 15-kilometre (9.32 mi) long complex of coastal wetlands in County Wicklow, Ireland. The main wetland is centred around Broad Lough immediately north of Wicklow town. Broad Lough is a large estuarine lake that is cut off from the Irish sea by a long, thin shingle ridge. Smaller, disconnected wetland areas such as the East Coast Nature Reserve and the Kicoole Marshes are also included in the complex. The Murrough Wetlands are the most extensive wetland area on the east coast of Ireland, and are an EU-designated Special Area of Conservation and Special Protection Area.
