Cairns State High School (CSHS) is an independent public secondary school located near the centre of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. It was founded in 1917 and is the oldest high school in Cairns. The school caters for grades 7 though 12 and has the capacity for 1,607 enrolled students. The principal of the school is Christopher Zilm.

It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 28 August 1998.Masonic duties ceased here after its sale to the Catholic Church in 2017.

It was designed by Lawrence and Lordan and was built in 1927 by Michael Garvey. It is also known as St Monica's Cathedral and St Monica's Church & School. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 1 July 1997.Following completion of the new St Monica's Cathedral, the building was deconsecrated as a church and has subsequently been repurposed as offices for the Diocese of Cairns and local parish.

The building complex has a 667-space multi-storey car park with a pedestrian overpass linking it to the rest of the hospital.In 2011, a shortage of beds for mental health patients meant some were staying for more than 100 hours in the emergency department.

St Monica's College Sr Cecilia Building is a heritage-listed part of the catholic school in Abbott Street, Cairns City, Cairns, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Vibert McKirdy Brown and built in 1941 by VW Doyle. This building was once also known as St Monica's High School and was used for several years as the school administration building, although now it contains classrooms. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 1 July 1997. St Monica's College is the oldest school in the Cairns region and has two heritage listed buildings - Sr Morrissey Building and the Sr Cecilia Building.
