Sydenham Hospital was a healthcare facility in Harlem, Manhattan, New York, which operated between 1892 and 1980. It was located at 124 Street and Manhattan Avenue.

The Faison Firehouse Theater is a theater in Harlem, New York founded in 1999 by Tony award winning choreographer George Faison and Tad Schnugg. It is operated by the American Performing Arts Collaborative (APAC), a not-for-profit (501c3) founded in 1997.

Manhattan Avenue–West 120th–123rd Streets Historic District is a national historic district in Harlem in New York City. It consists of 113 contributing residential rowhouses built between 1886 and 1896. The buildings are three story brownstone and brick rowhouses over raised basements in the Queen Anne, Romanesque, and Neo-Grec styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

125th Street, co-named Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, is a two-way street that runs east–west in the New York City borough of Manhattan, from First Avenue on the east to Marginal Street, a service road for the Henry Hudson Parkway along the Hudson River in the west. Two theatres in Harlem, New York City, have been named West End Theatre. The first, of 1899, was abandoned after the foundation was built. It was on the northeast corner of 124th Street and Seventh Avenue, which is today known as Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard.The second is at 362 West 125th Street, on the south side of the street, midway between Morningside Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue (backing onto Hancock Place). Built by Meyer R. Bimberg and designed by Neville & Bragge in Spanish Baroque style, it opened November 3, 1902 and was sold to Weber & Fields on February 9, 1903.Bimberg, who came to be known as Bim the Button Man, made his fortune selling campaign buttons. He built five theatres in New York City including what is now the Belasco Theatre. The West End Theatre was acquired in 1975 by La Gree Baptist Church. It was sold to a real estate developer in July 2016 and plans for a new mixed-use (commercial and residential) building have been announced for the site.

The 125th Street station was an express station on the demolished IRT Ninth Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had three tracks and two island platforms. It opened on September 17, 1879 and closed on June 11, 1940. The next southbound stop was 116th Street for all trains. The next northbound local stop was 130th Street. The next northbound express stop was 145th Street.

The Washington Apartments are an apartment building in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Completed in 1884, it is notable for being the first apartment building in central Harlem. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the building a historic landmark on July 15, 1991.

The Apollo Theater is a music hall at 253 West 125th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard (Seventh Avenue) and Frederick Douglass Boulevard (Eighth Avenue) in the Harlem neighborhood of Upper Manhattan in New York City. It is a noted venue for African-American performers, and is the home of Showtime at the Apollo, a nationally syndicated television variety show which showcased new talent, from 1987 to 2008, encompassing 1,093 episodes; the show was rebooted in 2018. The theater, which has a capacity of 1,506, opened in 1913 as Hurtig & Seamon's Music Hall. It was designed by George Keister in the neo-Classical style. Alterations were made that year for showing movies, and it was renamed the Apollo Theater. (It was often referred to as the "125th Street Apollo" to distinguish it from the legitimate Apollo on 42nd Street). In 1924, the Minsky brothers leased the theater for burlesque shows. In 1934, it became a venue for black performers and was opened to black patrons for the first time. In 1983, both the interior and exterior of the building were designated as New York City Landmarks, and the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It is estimated that 1.3 million people visit the Apollo every year.

Church of St. Thomas the Apostle is a former Roman Catholic parish church in New York City that had been threatened with demolition. It was the subject of a landmarks preservation debate. The parish was established in 1889; staffed by the Salesians of Don Bosco from 1979 to 2003; and closed in 2003 because of a diminished congregation and structural problems. In 2013, the premises at 260-262 W. 118th St., southwest corner of St. Nicholas Avenue, in Harlem, Manhattan was sold to a private developer. After extensive renovation, the church building is now used as a concert venue.

The Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) is a private medical school with a main campus in the neighborhood of Central Harlem in New York City and an additional campus in Middletown, New York. It is a division of Touro College and University System.The college's inaugural class graduated in 2011. It was the first medical school to open in New York State in nearly 30 years and is the first osteopathic medical school with a special emphasis on training minority doctors. TouroCOM currently has a student body of about 1080 students.TouroCOM has a stated goal of particularly identifying and recruiting students willing to make a commitment to practice in underserved communities such as Harlem and Middletown. The neighborhood has been designated by the federal government as underserved by medical professionals. Community service events such as free health counseling, screenings, and flu shots are offered to local residents by students and faculty several times a year.
