The Navigation School (Danish: Navigationsskolen) is a former educational institution in Copenhagen, Denmark. Its Historicist building on Havnegade (Havnegade 23) is listed.

The Copenhagen Fire of 1795 (Københavns brandes 1795) started on Friday, 5 June 1795, at or around 3 pm by the Navy's old base south east of Kongens Nytorv on Gammelholm, in the Navy's magazine for coal and timber, the so-called Dellehave. As the workers had already gone home, a considerable length of time passed before efforts to combat the fire started, and out of fear for theft, the fire hydrants had been removed. The people of Holmen also blocked the civilian fire brigade, possibly in the belief that since it was a military area, the military should take care of it.There had been an extended period without rain and the dry wood, combined with the storage of rope work and tar, made the fire spread quickly. The wind blew especially strong from east-southeast, and that meant the countless embers were carried through the air into the city. Because of the strong sunlight, small fires were difficult to detect until they have taken hold. This is why the fire spread from Gammelholm to the main magazine along Holmens Canal (Holmens Kanal Danish) and over Holmens Canal to the quarter around Saint Nicolai Church and from there, along Gammel Strand to the area around Nytorv/Gammeltorv.

Gammelholm ( lit. "Old Islet") is a predominantly residential neighbourhood in the city centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is bounded by the Nyhavn canal, Kongens Nytorv, Holmens Kanal, Niels Juels Gade and the waterfront along Havnegade. For centuries, the area was the site of the Royal Naval Shipyard, known as Bremerholm, but after the naval activities relocated to Nyholm (Danish: The New Islet), it came under residential redevelopment in the 1860s and 1870s. The new neighbourhood was planned by Ferdinand Meldahl and has also been referred to as "Meldahl's Nine Streets". Apart from the buildings which face Kongens Nytorv, which include the Royal Danish Theatre and Charlottenborg Palace, the area is characterized by homogeneous Historicist architecture consisting of perimeter blocks with richly decorated house fronts.

Nordisk Frøkontor (lit. "Nordic Seed Office") was a Danish wholesaler of seeds founded in 1879 at Havnegade in the Gammelholm neighbourhood of central Copenhagen, Denmark. Its former headquarters at Havnegade 39, a listed warehouse which predates it with 10 years, has been converted into serviced offices.

Havnegade is a waterfront promenade in central Copenhagen, Denmark, which runs between Knippelsbro and the mouth of the Nyhavn canal. Most of the street is lined with buildings from the 1860s and 1870s that were constructed as part of the redevelopment of the Gammelholm naval dockyards. It is the only place along Copenhagen's main harbourfront where residential buildings of that age face the water, although older warehouses and other industrial buildings elsewhere have been converted into residential use. The Modernist Bank of Denmark building is located at the western end of the street.

The Royal Mint of Denmark (Danish: Den Kongelige Mønt) is a mint established by the Danish monarchy in the early 16th century, which currently by law is the only company allowed to mint the Danish currency (DKK). It is owned by the Danish State and administered as a subsidiary of the Danish Central Bank (Danmarks Nationalbank).

Gammel Dok is a former warehouse located on the waterfront in the Christianshavn neighbourhood of Copenhagen, Denmark. It now houses the National Workshops for Art.

Sankt Annæ Gade is a street in the Christianshavn district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It connects the main harbourfront at Asiatisk Plads in the west to Christianshavn Rampart in the east via the Snorrebroen bridge. Church of Our Saviour is located in the street.

Strandgade (lit. "Beach Street") is one of the principal streets in the Christianshavn district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs along the full length of the neighbourhood, following the harbourfront, from Christian's Church in the south-west to Grønlandske Handels Plads in the north The northern part of the street is a cul-de-sac for motor vehicles while a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists across Trangraven is currently under construction.

Grøns Pakhus (literally Grøn's Warehouse) is a former warehouse and retail establishment located on Holmens Kanal in the Gammelholm neighbourhood of central Copenhagen, Denmark. Opened by M.E. Grøn & Søn in 1863, it heralded the arrival of proper department stores in Denmark with the opening of Magasin du Nord a few years later. The Historicist building was designed by Johan Daniel Herholdt. The building was listed in 1979 and declared an Industrial Heritage Site in 2009.

Strandgade 30 is one of the oldest townhouses situated on Strandgade in the Christianshavn district of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The three-winged building from 1635 is via an adjoining lower building from the 20th century and a three-storey warehouse connected to a two-storey building at Wildersgade 43 on the other side of the block. The property was from 1680 until at least the 1860s owned by brewers whose brewery was located in the yard. The painter Wilhelm Hammershøi resided in the apartment on the first floor from 1899 to 1909. Some 60 of the 142 paintings from this period of his life, including some of his most iconic works, are interior paintings from the apartment. Other notable former residents include the ship-owner, merchant and slave trader Jens Lind. A doorway in a brick wall connects the narrow, central courtyard to that of Strandgade 28. Strandgade 30 and Strandgade 28 were owned by the same owners from 1910. They were jointly listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918. The building at Wildersgade 43 and the adjacent warehouse in the courtyard are also part of the heritage listing.
